Steering Problems of Infiniti EX35

Tl- the contact owns a 2008 infinite Ex35. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the steering wheel electronic tilt had malfunctioned and the driver was unable to properly re position the steering wheel. In addition while turning in either direction the steering wheel exhibited excessive play. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the steering wheel tilt motor was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA recall campaign number 15v054000(steering). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 68,000. Local dealer was not notified. Jft.

The steering lock box stopped working, and the car could not be started. We saw that Nissan already has a campaign on the sister cars. For this issue. I believe the involves the very same part. The car can not be operated with this issue.

Tl the contact owns a 2009 Infiniti Ex35. The contact stated that the vehicle would not start. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to holman Infiniti (577 NJ-38, maple shade township, NJ 08062) where it was diagnosed that the steering lock box needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.

I am writing this email due to a life threatening incident while driving my 2010 Infiniti Ex35(VIN:jn1aj0hr5am757428). I was driving the vehicle on route us1 around 45-50 miles per hour when the steering wheel got stuck and would not move. I was in the first lane of a 3 lane road and with lot of difficulty was able to stop it on the shoulder. This was really crazy that the steering wheel could get stuck while driving the car. I could have got killed or could have killed some one due to this issue. I called the service center and they said that the power would have got lost and hence the steering wheel got stuck. I asked if they could tow the vehicle and they mentioned they could not tow the vehicle and it was my responsibility. I am really surprised by such a poor lack of service by your service center where I actually bought the car. Anyways I am too scared to drive the vehicle again and would like my full money back so that I can buy a different model car. I have towed the car to the ray catena Infiniti service center.

The contact owns a 2008 Infiniti Ex35. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v054000 (steering) however the local Nissan dealer refused to perform the repair due to not being compensated to perform the repair. The contact also stated that the nearest Infiniti dealer was 118 miles away and it was informed that the towing service would be out of the contacts expense. The manufacturer was notified of issue. I started my vehicle this morning and a yellow light with a key came on for the first time, I thought is was the key battery so I paid no attention, got to my destination and turned the car off, a few minutes later got back into the car to head home and it won't start. I was stuck there for five hours trying to get it started with help from a locksmith and my mechanic, finally found the issue on google was a faulty steering wheel lock unit which 37 other people had problems with and was charged $900 and up to fix by the dealers they know of this issue but won't recall it. My mechanic moved the steering up and down with the lock release and finally got it started.

The dealer was to replace the steering shaft. The dealer had informed the contact that they had problems replacing the steering shaft,however, the vehicle was repaired under the recall. While driving approximately 30 mph, suddenly the contact stated that the steering wheel was not controlling the vehicle and seized. The contact had also loud drilling noise. The contact had then coasted over and continued to drive to his residence at a low speed. The vehicle had not yet been back to the dealer for a diagnosis,however, the dealer was contacted. The contact stated that he had never experienced a failure prior to taking the vehicle to the dealer for the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the approximate failure mileage was 62,400. Gb.

Lost steering completely. Steering wheel would rotate 360 degrees freely without affecting wheels. While driving down road at approximately 40 miles per hour, began to have play in steering wheel. Slowed down while play worsened. . Lost steering and stopped at an intersection. Had no steering whatever; steering wheel would free spin 360 degrees. Vehicle towed to dealership.
