The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and was informed that there was a design flaw on the door which caused the defect. The contact had taken the vehicle Infiniti of memphis (3060 n germantown pkwy, bartlett, TN 38133) where he was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle regarding the failure. The contact also mentioned that the fuel gauge was inoperable. The manufacturer had not been notified of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
