The vehicle was taken to be inspected and the contact was informed that the vapor hose and fuel filler hose needed to be replaced. The contact partially repaired the vehicle. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 05v555000 (fuel system, gasoline). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was referred to the NHTSA to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 175,000.

The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated that the vehicle was not included in recall 05v555000 (fuel system, gasoline). The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000 and the current mileage was approximately 57,000.

The contact was concerned because he was always unsure as to how much gasoline was actually in the vehicle. The dealer inspected the vehicle and could not determine the cause of the failure. The contact called Infiniti, to ask if a Nissan dealership could do the recall remedy. The Infiniti manufacturer determined the spokane dealership would have to pay the local Nissan dealer to perform the recall remedy. The spokane dealer which is 350 plus miles away declined. The contact expressed there is no reason why the Nissan dealer which is closer than the Infiniti dealer can not handle remedy work since they are the same company.

There is not a local Infiniti dealership so a Nissan dealer was alerted however they would not perform the necessary repairs. The vehicle has not had the problems associated with the recall. The manufacturer was alerted. Updated 5/2/2006 - the consumer feels that she should not have to drive out of state to have the recall repaired.

Fuel gauge does not read full when filled with gas at the fueling station. My understanding is the fuel sending units need replacing.

Consumer complaint regarding false advertisement. Consumer was told infinity gets 17 mpg and only gets 8 mpg.

2004 Fx35- black smoke comes from the exhaust pipes when the car is started for the first time each day. I have shown the dealership video of this and yet they still are reluctant to admit there is a problem. My gas mileage is far less that the epa estimates. The transfer case has also been replaced twice in one year.
