Six problems related to air bag not deploy have been reported for the 2005 Infiniti G35. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owned a 2005 Infiniti G35. While driving 35 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. The contact lost control and crashed into a tree. The front driver side air bag failed to deploy. The contact sustained head and neck injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
Airbags did not deploy in a recent accident.
Took car in to have passenger airbag harness replaced per recall. While in the shop, a critical concern was noted that the driver airbag module and spiral cable failed and needed to be replaced at a cost to the vehicle owner of $1,434. Nissan customer service was contacted and refused to pay for the part replacement. The airbag light is illuminated on the dash and I was told that until the airbag parts are replaced, the airbag may not deploy in the event of a collision. It is my contention that Nissan should fix a known safety defect associated with its airbags and that a recall should also be placed on the driver side airbag for this model and year vehicle.
There was a recall for airbags on this vehicle on April 27, 2010. I purchased this vehicle about a month ago. The air bag light has been blinking every since day one, so I looked up the recalls and found that this was a problems. I also called infinity and they said the recall on this vehicle had been fixed and no further assistance will be given to this vehicle. I have read numerous complaints with this same matter, and believe that the problems has never been fixed by the dealer, unless they performed a partial fix to get the customer out of the door. This is a serious problem especially if this vehicle is involved in a crash and the air bag does not deploy and another innocent person may be killed by this ongong problem. If this happens, I am like the other complaints, I will seek legal action againt Nissan and infinity for their poor customer satisfaction as reported by so many other customers and nothing is being done.
The sedan has an airbag that does not work properly the airbag light flashes non stop on the vehicle and does not go away. L looked online and saw a previous recall on this issue and the problem still remains. I took it to the dealership to be told that it was my fault and they do not warranty safety issues anymore. They continues to print out a statement for $1000 dollars with a code b1134. Its a $35,000 dollar car it should not have "safety" issues. Maybe because it is to expensive to deal with or is a human life more expensive. The airbags are obviously not working properly and the fact that they want to charge me for an issue they need to resolve internally is not very good business practice or professional. I know of other consumers online that have had the same issue plenty of people online with complaints. Being its a safety issue this needs to be addressed ASAP. If I were to get into an accident and the airbag does not deploy I will take legal action. I have no issue with that just have an issue with Infiniti not taking responsibility. Thanks.
While driving normally on the highway, the airbag indicator light on the dash came on and started to blink. After stopping and turning the car off and on, the light still blinks. Trying to perform an ecu reset, the blinking stops for about 1 minute and resumes. Took the car to the Infiniti dealership in palm springs, CA and was informed that the recall has already been applied to my vehicle. The problem still persists and I was informed that if I don't fix it, the airbags will not deploy in the event of a crash. If the recall has been applied, then the problem should not be happening.
