Brake Light problems of the 2006 Infiniti G35

High mount brake light or 3rd brake light has stopped functioning due to a underrated diode on the circuit board. This creates an unsafe situation in alerting other drivers of braking/slowing and is not passable for texas state inspection.

The top mount rear light (3rd brake light) on my G35 only works intermittently or not all sometimes. It is a very common problem with the sedan model. Could be a potential safety issue with cars behind not realizing the G35 in front is stopping.

My sedan's third brake light works intermittently. I have tested the wiring and the light always has power, but sometimes it just doesn't light up.

I have begun to research this and discovered that the problem is very common among cars similar to mine. I know the third brake light was working recently and I have seen it illuminate recently but not always. This concerns me for the safety and repair problems, and for the fact that it seems to be a widespread problem with these cars. I think there should be a factory recall issued for this safety equipment.

Infiniti G35 with third brake light failure. Third brake is an assembly made of led's and technically do not burn out and last past the life of the vehicle. Dealership refuses to take responsibility as a manufacturer defect. The failure happen 11/11/2010 and third brake light does not work anymore. Nothing has been done to replace failed assembly but looking for parts.

Led center high mount stop light fails prematurely. Common issue on 03-06 G35 sedans. Failure is related to the light itself due to either defective leds or resistors in the light. Common complaint on internet forums and commonly seen on road. Expensive to repair and required for inspection and safety which is why it's a frequently complained about issue. My own vehicle is experiencing a failed third brake light. Part is expensive to purchase and required complete dismantling of rear seat area and package tray to replace.
