Four problems related to tail light switch have been reported for the 2006 Infiniti G35. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The third brake light that sits in the window doesn't not light when brakes are applied when power was attached to the light it worked but not when plugged in to the harness in the car the tail brake lights work however.
The contact owns a 2006 Infiniti G35. Upon entering the vehicle, the steering control panel lights, the gear shifter, and middle console lighting were not illuminating. On another occasion, while driving at approximately 45 mph, a police officer stated that the running tails lights were not illuminating. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 123,000.
3rd brake light works less than half the time. The reflection of the light when on is visible from the rear view mirror. It has been a concern for about 3 month. Viewed on a G35 forum that this problem is very common for our cars. Filling out to this complaint to try to get a recall for this problem. This problem can potentially cause an accident as the tail lights would look like night lights and not brake lights.
