A loud noise was also heard after the failure occurred. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer where the technician informed the contact that the engine would need to be replaced due to a massive crack in the engine block. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 75,860.
