general problems of the 2008 Infiniti G35

Five problems related to power train have been reported for the 2008 Infiniti G35. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/12/2020

My car has been stalling while driving at low speed. Several warning lights come up (check engine light, slip light, battery light) and then the engine shuts down completely. Upon placing the car in park, I am able to re-start it. This is a major safety issue. I believe my car is part of recall number 03v455000 - engine and engine cooling. However, my VIN is not part of the recall, but I am experiencing the same issues associated with this recall. This needs to be re-addressed. I have children, and I am worried that this issue can cause an accident, especially while I am driving on the freeway. I have seen various similar complaints related to this issue with Infiniti.

2 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/22/2014

Car was jerking while driving. I went to the dealer, was told that a radiator leaked to the transmission, and ruined it. Dealer flashed transmission, but later I had "check engine" warning. I went back, dealer told me that this is because of a bad transmission. This is not safe to drive a car in this condition. I still have a power train warranty, but Nissan refuses to repair transmission, because, they say, transmission problem was a secondary one, and the primary was a radiator. Nissan twice refused to repair under warranty.

3 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/17/2013

The contact owns a 2008 Infiniti G35. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that parts of the transmission needed to be replaced but the contact did not know what that exact part was that would need replacing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 95,000.

4 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/16/2013

The contact owns a 2008 Infiniti G35 x. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle began to buckle and proceeded to stall. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnosis where the technician stated that the transmission was contaminated due to a radiator coolant leak. The vehicle was later towed to an independent mechanic for the replacement of the radiator. The approximate failure mileage was 32,0000. Updated 2/11/cn a transmission specialist verified the transmission was clean and functioning properly, after four flushings. Updated 02/14/14.

5 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 11/30/2008

The contact owns a 2008 Infiniti G35. While driving 25 mph in rainy weather conditions, the anti-traction switch activated and caused the wheels to lock. The four wheel drive indicator illuminated, which means that it was activated as well. The failure caused the vehicle to crash into a curb. The wheel was damaged, but the contact was not injured. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they stated that the failure was due to driver error. The vehicle sustained cosmetic and wheel damage, which would cost $1,700 to repair. The contact is in the process of notifying the manufacturer. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 8,000 and current mileage was 8,004.
