Infiniti G35 owners have reported 12 problems related to other fuel system tank assembly (under the other fuel system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I ran out of gas on my commute home from work. My gas hand read a quarter of a tank when I completely ran out of gas leaving me stranded on the interstate. Since this happened I've done some research and it's a common problem for G35 Infiniti's. They gave a recall on the Nissan and Infiniti SUV for this exact problem same year my 2005 Infiniti was made. The G35 sedan and coupe should be included in this recall.

The car idles when taking off even after warming it up. . . While cars are passing me by. It acts like it wants to cut off while in traffic. It was raining on the passenger side. I can't even filled the car up with a full tank of gas. Only had the car for 3 weeks and the service engine soon light come on. Took it back multiple times and still not fixed.

I am unable to put fuel in my car. The gas just runs out of the gas tank when I am trying to enter the gas. It keeps making a clicking sound. I feel unsafe because I don't know if I have any gas in the car and I am afraid the car will run out of gas.

I have 118k miles on my vehicle. I recently have had many issues with my fuel gauge. I've read hundreds of complaints online regarding the instrument cluster and fuel gauge issues. This is very dangerous because the other day I almost lost control of my vehicle I think because it was almost out of fuel. The gas gauge read over 1/2 tank. I called the local Infinitilupient and they said there were no recalls. There should be. Hundreds of people have said that this happens around 120,000. This needs to be a recall.
Gas tank never reaches full. While pumping gas gas station pump stops periodically even though tank is not full. Gas gauge reads incorrectly. Have to keep stopping and adding gas to make sure tank is full.

As previously mentioned and depicted copious times on multiple sites, my 2004 G35 (built in 2003 and purchased 11/03 w/ only 43,544 miles) stalls w/o warning. Engine and vdc lights show only after engine stalls. If idle rpms are increased to 1,000, to prevent stalling, the engine idle lopes noticeably. This safety issue has occurred both while stopped (stop lights/signs) and while driving 4 out of the last 4 times driven. Research indicates the fix consists of camshaft position sensor and crankshaft angle sensors. It is patently obvious that regardless of mileage (I. E. 100k+ or in my case 43k miles) the engine will stall, jeopardizing the safety of the driver and passenger(s) resulting from being hit by other vehicles, thereby endangering the occupants of any/all vehicles. This issue should not be the causal factor for individuals being hurt/maimed/killed due to an obvious engineering/manufacturing error by Nissan/Infiniti, nor should an owner be held responsible for a blatantly obvious manufacturer's defect's, by being required to pay for a system beyond their control and the sole responsibility of the actual manufacturer. Please research the warranty and repair orders, as well as the myriad of the exact same complaints by consumers, reflected on on-line sites and forums. This should not be required to rise to the level of the air bags, exploding gas tanks, etc. . . Resulting in significant injury or death. Respectfully.
Fuel guage not reading correct level. Fuel needle is fluctuating up and down whenever it wants. Ex1. . . Gas light comes on with needle on e empty. . . Car die. . . Then put gas full til gas is spillin out of car. And needle goes full just under the f full line. Sometime goes by driving and the needle will fluctuates down to half way mark. Shut off car. . . Go shopping and come back start car and needle at 3/4 mark. Drive hm. Shut off. Start car next day and needle at 3/4 mark again. Not accurate as u can tell. After drivin awahile the gas would go down and gas light comes on. Drive home. Turn car off. Nxt morning start car and the needle is at half way to 3/4 way mark gain. This not possible bcause yesterday the needle was low and gas light came on. Now its back at 3/4 mark. Sometime its at 1/2 way. Sometime its at 1/4 mark. Three times my car died on me due to no gas. . . While the needle is at 1/4, 1/2, or 3/4 way. And the gas light did not come on either when it died on me b. C needle was above the e mark. This is a very dangerous and a safety recall issue that needs to b address. C I had my 10yr & 13yr old daughters in the car with me and we almost got rear ended by drivers. And causes collisions & back up on freeway! email me results & resolutions!.
Tl-the contact owns a 2004 infinit G35. The contact stated that the driver's and passenger's side reflector lamps failed to illuminate and were replaced on two separate occasions. In addition, when refueling the fuel would spray out of the fuel filler neck even though the fuel tank was not filled to the full capacity. The VIN was not included in the NHTSA campaign id numbers: 06e060000 (exterior lighting) and 05v555000 (fuel system, gasoline). The vehicle was not repaired. The contact also mentioned that after starting the vehicle the air bag warning indicator illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis however, the mechanic was unable to locate the problem. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 173,000. Js.
Can not fill gas tank up to limit. Stops at 6 gallons. If I try to force more than 6 gallons, gas starts spurting out, spilling everywhere causing a hazard. Have to refill gas tank everyday. Very annoying to have to stop & get gas on a daily basis. Very inconvenient. My job entails driving to different clients on a daily basis. Depending on how many clients I have daily, I sometimes have to stop & fill gas tank with another 6 gallons before I make it to my client's house. My clients arent too happy when I arrive late. Please help with this issue. Thank you.
The contact owns a 2005 Infiniti G35. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 mph, the fuel gauge displayed a full tank however the fuel tank was empty, which caused the vehicle to stall. Additionally, the speedodometer reading fluctuated. The failure occurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 124,466. The VIN was unavailable.
Fuel gauge registers over half a tank when tank is actually very near empty. When tank is filled up, gauge goes to just above full, and slowly decreases to just over half a tank as the tank nears empty. I have to watch my mileage and guess to know when I'm almost out of gas. This seems unsafe.
The vehicle was a 2005 Infiniti G35. On 11/8/12, I was driving on the freeway in the middle lane going approximately 65 mph and the car suddenly lost all acceleration. It dropped from 65 mph to 0 mph within minutes and the car seized up and was not responsive to pressing on the gas pedal. I was barely able to get to the right shoulder without causing an accident. The shoulder was extremely narrow and the car was immobile. The gas gauge on the dash said there was still a quarter of a tank of gas left. I walked to the gas station and put a gallon of gas in the tank to see if it would start up. As soon as I did that, the car started up with no problem. I went to fill up my tank and when I got there, I poured about 16 gallons of gas. I'm afraid that this could happen at any time, and I would be stranded with my car in jeopardy of getting hit. This gas fuel system problem happened on 11/8/12.
