My mother was driving her (2013) Infiniti G37 on a city street when the car suddenly and unexpectedly turned off. She tried to restart it without any success and turn on her hazard lights, but the entire electric system had shut down for no apparent reason. She was very scared because cars were honking at her and after flagging down a police officer (30 minutes later), the car mysteriously turned back on. When she took it to the dealership, they did a quick computer check and told her nothing was wrong. And they said they had never heard of this happening even though my mother told them that she found several complaints on the internet recounting this same problem with this particular model of Infiniti. We also reported this to the Infiniti customer affairs department and they said they would look into it.

Left headlight holds humidity without any cracks or damage to the light assembly. As a result, left main headlight does not work. Electrical control unit (radio, air, display unit) shuts off sporadically and will not shut on until car is restarted. Light with "swerving car" will not shut off. Brake light sporadically comes on.

I've been having a continuing problem in regards the stock panasonic cd changer. The cd changer is moving discs around when the power to the car if off, won't eject discs or receive them. This malfunction is draining my battery. I brought the car into a Infiniti service shop and they advised me that the cd changer was malfunctioning and would repair if for $500. 00, by inputting a remanufactured cd changer into the car. Upon them doing this, I was advised the radio they ordered, was also defective and they had to order another one. They replaced the cd changed and a month later, this cd changer also stopped working correctly. I had to go and have Infiniti replace the radio for the third time, which was out of warranty. The currently cd changer is working, but for how long? I asked Infiniti USA for a full refund and was advised that they could not assist me with any refund and weren't helpful or concerned at all about this problem. I filed a bbb claim in order to try and have my repair fee refunded, do to this defective part which should be recalled. Infiniti still uses panasonic cd changers in their new models are refuses to address this defective part issue. Many internet researches have shown this cd changer issue has affected many of their cars for several year's. In conclusion, I would never buy an Infiniti automobile again do to the total disregard to customer service.

My 2009 Infiniti G37x lost power without warning on 3 separate occasions. The first two times the problem occurred in Jan 2013 (car was still under 60k miles warranty). I was driving on the highway on a cold night and my car stalled at around 55/65 mph mark. The car was shaking when I tried to accelerate. When I pulled over to the emergency lane, my car had lost complete power. Then, I restarted the car and the engine acted and sounded normal. I warmed up the car for 5 minutes before I drove home. I went to Infiniti to get the problem fixed and I reported the problem to Infiniti of north America. Infiniti could not identify or re-create the problem. On Dec 7, 2013, I noticed my car acted like it was losing power when I accelerated the car to 65 mph while I was on the highway on a cold rainy night. I tried to accelerate and the car felt very choppy and shaky as if it was choking on something. Since this problem had occurred two times before, I decided not to continue to increase acceleration to the car any further. I pulled over to the emergency lane, parked the car, and I video recorded the problem. There was no lighting indication of any problem on dashboard. While the car was parked and the engine was running, I tried to rev up the engine. The car was shaking intensively when it was rev up to 2,000 rpm. I also restart the car and I tried to rev up the engine again and the car did not shake. After restarting, the car engine acted and sounded normal. I was able to drive the car home safely. There is a safety issue with this model. I've reported this problem to Infiniti, but they denied there is any problem. Infiniti needs to issue a recall on this model. I am scared to drive this car, but I need the car to get around. If anyone can help push forward this issue to the right level of attention, please contact me at [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Car died at 2 years 35k. Wouldn't start despite apparent accessory power. Rolled down hill damaging door. Car was used normally every day and was never left in a manner that would draw power while parked. It was also never left undriven for more than 12 hours. The car was, however, driven for mostly short trips. Dealer diagnosed it as a dead battery. An internet search shows that this is an extremely widespread problem. There is a TSB for the coupe but not the sedan for a continuous power leakage from the vent control valve. . Read more...
I have a 2008 Infiniti G37s / 6 speed, I have gone through 3 batteries since I purchased it used / certified in 2010. My battery kept dying so I brought it to Infiniti and they said I has a parasitic electrical draw but could not tell me where is was coming from. One day I walked up to the car while it was shutoff and I heard the six disc cd changer, moving around the discs. The stock cd changer was operating while the car was off and killing my $150. 00 battery. I ultimately pulled the fuse for the radio and upon doing that, I had no radio, heat, rear defrost and the ac comes on & you can't turn it off. I drove around for a month in the winter with the ac on which decreased my mileage. I called up Infiniti and brought it in and they charged me $138. 00 to tell me I need a new, same defective cd changer at a cost of $550, which was not covered. I advised them this is a serious safety issue and how could a cd changer affect the whole instrument panel? in addition, you can't even put an aftermarket radio / cd changer in the car because the heat, defrost, navi is all one unit. This bose radio unit is still being used till this day in their new models. I filed a bbb claim and they were no help. I love the car but would never buy and Infiniti again. I had an Acura before this car and they fixed every problem I had and treated me like I was there only customer they had.
The contact owns a 2012 Infiniti G37. The contact attempted to start the vehicle, but it would not start without charging the battery. On January 30, 2014, the contact stated that the failure mileage was 18,430. After parking the vehicle, the instrument panel illuminated and the vehicle started after the battery was charged. The failure recurred on September 18, 2014 and the failure mileage was 20,900. When the contact opened the door, a beeping noise sounded approximately six times and all of the warning indicators illuminated; however, the headlights and the interior lighting failed to illuminate. As a result, the contact had to drive at night without headlights. In addition, the transmission fluid contaminated the radiator and the engine, which caused the vehicle to shut off while driving approximately 35 mph. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The contact was responsible for the repairs, which included flushing the engine. The dealer stated that the transmission fluid contaminated the electrical system and engine, which caused the failure to occur. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 20,940.

I have 38 pages of service regarding a starting problem. When the car is started with the ac on, it cranks but will not start. There have been 6 battery replacements, one 6 months after the car was purchased and 5 in the last 5 years. Within the last week and a half it has needed 4000 in repairs. A valve assembly, control and now an engine control module. The car was brought in dozens of times and the problem never fixed. Would be happy to provide all of the paperwork.
Apparently on 2009 Infiniti G37s, there is a programming error/deficiency in the electronic engine control module (ecm) affecting the processing of the mass flow rate sensor that will cause the engine to unexpectedly (and without a dash warning indicator) to lose power. At occurrence of the failure, the car will decelerate from highway speed to less than 35 mph within a few seconds. Following the failure, the engine rpm will not exceed 2,400 rpm and speeds above 35 mph are impossible (I found that 4th gear is the highest gear selectable). This failure can be dangerous in a number of traffic situations. I have learned from an Infiniti service dept. That the failure will temporarily correct itself if the engine is turned off for a period of time, but that the failure could reoccur. The car's ecm was re-programmed by towbin Infiniti (las vegas, nv) on August 30 and that supposedly fixes the failure. While at towbin, the service man said that Infiniti knows of the problem, but is waiting to see how wide-spread the problem is. Owners have not been told of this problem. Towbin service said they have seen about 300 cases of the problem. A salt lake city dealer service dept. Had also heard of this problem. Again, I feel this problem can be dangerous, because: if it were to occur in heavy traffic, it may be difficult to get out of the way of others; if it were to occur when turning in front of oncoming traffic; after it occurs, there is no way to keep up with higher speed traffic - one is left going slow and hoping no one rear ends me; without more information, I have no way of knowing if the problem has really been fixed.
