Electrical System Problems of Infiniti I30

In the last 2 months I have had the front passenger tire blow out 3 times. After this last tire repair the car started to shake, vibrate and make a knocking noise while driving. When driving faster the steering wheel would jerk me almost offthe road. It was so bad I pulled over and when I looked at the front passenger tire it was smoking and sitting sideways. I had to get my vehicle towed and now I have no way to work. I have included an estimate of the repairs as well as a written warranty that was given to the previous owner. I was told this was no longer valid since I am not the original owner of the vehicle. The way the steering jerked and how the tire went sideways I feel that is a safety issue.

(jft missing dealer) tl the contact owns a 2003 inifiniti I30. While operating the vehicle, it suddenly shut off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure was unable to be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 90,000.

The contact owns a 2001 Infiniti I30. The contact stated that while inspecting the radiator, the contact noticed that the frame by the lower tie bar was completely corroded. The vehicle was taken to dealer. The technician replaced the entire tie bar and re-welded it to the frame. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 154,000.

Car stalls when driving or idling. Stalled at 15 mph in a traffic circle causing loss of power steering. Wife was driving at the time this happened. Had to pull to the side to restart. Stalls at idle when waiting for traffic light to change. Nissan knows this is a well known serious problem with the 2001 I30. The problem is the idle air control valve (iac), the engine control module (ecm), and the electric motor mounts which short out causing the iac to shortout which causes the ecm to shortout. Nissan knows this is a huge problem and still expects the owners to pay for their faulty engineering. This is a very serious and dangerous problem that needs immediate attention. This problem is talked about all over the internet by owners of these I30 and maximas.

I have a 2001 Infiniti I30 and was driving the car on the highway with my son in the passenger seat and we started smelling rubber/plastic burning. A few seconds later we had a large amount of smoke and the car just cuts off at 55 mph and we had maneuver it off the road and we had to get out choking on the smoke and later found out from the nssan dealer that the ecm was on fire between my right leg in the car and my sons left leg. I had checked the safety and recall info on this car before purchasing it and no recalls. I now know from searching this issue on line that its a frequent issue that is linked from the idle air valve going bad and causing the ecm to fail and catch on fir in this case.

The contact owns a 2001 Infiniti I30. The contact stated while traveling at any speed, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver and there was an abnormal clicking sound heard from the steering wheel. The vehicle stalled without warning on multiple occasions. The contact stated that the instrument panel had a short which made it impossible for the contact to see the gauges while driving. The contact continued to see the service engine sensor and brake light sensor illuminate intermittently. The radio and clock had not worked for an extended period of time. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer who diagnosed that the ecl computer had needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was not included in NHTSA campaign id number: 02v146000 (suspension) and had experienced the same failure on multiple occasions. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

Vehicle: 2000 Infiniti I30t has a reoccurring engine code p0420 since 74,000 miles. Found out recently there is a service bulletin for this problem on the internet. Reference #itb00-054a. I never received any notice from Infiniti corp. About this problem since the service bulletin that occurred on June 7, 2004. It is wrong for Infiniti not to notify their customers about this problem. There is no drivability problem, but I will not pass California smog test if the engine come on during this time. Infiniti corporation should fix this problem without charging any labor or parts. Parts are @ least $800. 00 without labor!!!.

Consumer states: that air conditioning is locking up motor. This happens while driving vehicle, no power steering, no brakes, no lights in the dash come on. Towed car back to garage.
