1 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 12/18/2022

Known issue by Infiniti. Front (driver's side) headlight main bulb shorted out. Condensation "traveled" in the the assembly, but did not vent out. Replacement bulbs do not resolve the issue. The first time it happened, it occurred in December 2017 and was replaced by infinity of lynnwood (that was also the last month of the warranty). Now, the same one shorted out again at the end of December 2022, just 5 years later. It's a known issue but infinity won't issue a recall. There is a service bulletin (TSB no. 03-051i) sb-10032304-9755. Though a known issue, the dealership will not rectify the situation without compensation.

2 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 03/20/2022

On three occasions the headlight assembly became unsealed allowing moisture to enter the sealed headlight assembly, thus short circuiting the hid bulb and ballast. This affected both the drivers and passenger headlight assembly the first time and just last week the driver's side light, again. We have seen other Jx35, as well as qx60 models having moisture in the headlight assembly (light not functional), and were told by the dealership that they currently have two other cars (same model) on the lot with the same issue. Searches on line show this is a continual problem with these models (jx36 and qx60). The manufacture is not standing behind their product and this is a safety hazard as the vehicle is without a, or both headlights.

3 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 11/25/2021

There are several complaints regarding the headlights that the headlights continue to get moisture in them and it requires a new headlight assembly. There were 16 cases regarding the Jx35 model and several for the qx60 model that replaced it.

4 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 03/26/2021

On March 7 driver side light went out while driving down road. Had to have whole unit replaced. Now just 2 weeks later, on the way home tonight, driving again, the passenger side went out. This side was replaced fully by Infiniti just 2 years ago because it went out while driving in the mountains and is now is once again gone out while driving. Each time they say it is a ballast and the full unit,$1500, has to be replaced. This is unacceptable. And is very dangerous.

5 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2012

The contact owns a 2013 Infiniti Jx35. The contact stated that when placing the vehicle in reverse during the night hours the driver was unable to see what was behind them. The driver also mentioned that the back up camera does not help either because the reverse lights are not illuminated bright enough. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to provide any assistance since they were not able to alter the design of the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The failure and current mileage was approximately 1,400. . . . . Updated 12/20/12 the consumer stated infinti will not make any changes and if lights were added by the consumer the warranty would voided. Updated 12/28/2012.
