11 problems related to seat broken have been reported for the 2006 Infiniti M35. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The drivers seat broke off and fell to the floor while driving I lost control of the vehicle. The broken seat weld makes the seat lift out of the car.
I share the vehicle with my wife who is about a foot shorter than I am- as I'm adjusting the seat back and lowering it- the entire seat just dropped down- I stepped out of the vehicle and tried to adjust the seat and the motor would only make noise- after looking into it I realized the entire seat was broken off the track and I can physically pick the entire chair up off the ground from the back. Front is still secured somewhat but still very unsafe to drive. Car is parked in a driveway- Nissan motors should be held responsible for designing an unsafe item.
I was driving my driver seat bracket broke an I almost killed myself.
The bracket of the driver's seat broke. The seat moves substantially when braking and accelerating. It has become very dangerous to drive this vehicle and the cost to repair it is over $1k.
My first problem is the brake pedal broke for no reason. The dealer informed me a new one would be at a cost to me at over 350. 00$. My second problem is a seat weld broke, I have not gone in for that problem yet but I'm sure it will be at a cost tme as well.
Under moderate braking the driver seat broke loose and slid forward a few inches which affected my ability to safely and effectively brake the vehicle. The dealer informed me that they are very familiar with this problem and that this is caused by defective welds on the seat assembly for which no recall has ever been issued, despite a sizeable number of affected vehicles. To replace the broken seat assembly is roughly $1300 for parts and labor. This is a huge safety issue as the seat doesn't stay in place and could easily cause an accident.
Driving onto ramp to get on highway and seat bracket broke and sunk me back. Lost control momentarily. A.
Not exactly sure when the driver's seat broke, but it was leaning into the center console and I felt I was not centered on the steering wheel. About a week or so after noticing this, I was taking my daughter to daycare when the seat support on the left side broke with a loud bang and the seat collapsed to the floor. I swerved into the oncoming lane and fortunately nothing was coming at the time. The seat no longer goes up and down and can be lifted up and down by hand. I contacted Infiniti USA. They instructed me to take the car to a dealer to determine the problem. The dealer charged $110 to tell me the seat track would need replacing at a cost of approximately $1450. I again contacted Infiniti USA and they informed me they would not be offering any assistance.
As I was driving, the left side support under my driver seat broke. I began to fall backwards but was able to catch myself because I was traveling at such a slow speed. Two days later, I took my car into my dealership expecting that they would repair this giant safety issue with no charge to me. They told me I needed a whole new seat and the cost would be $1400. I responded by saying it should be free to fix, but I would pay up to $500 if they were to fix it and offer me a lifetime warranty on both the driver and passenger seat. They refused and we are now at a stalemate.
Hi, I bought not to long ago this vehicle and everything was fine. However recently the bottom of the seat broke, there is a little arm that attaches to the bar at the back that is not attached. I was driving and the seat suddenly dropped and I could have had a serious accident. There are quite a number of reports like this online of other people with this issue and I want to know if there is some sort of recall. Infiniti is a reputable car but this workmanship is terrible. Thanks for your time. I only weight 170lbs so I am sure that is not the issue.
The drivers seat base broke loose from the metal lever that adjusts the height off the floor and the seat tilted sharply left. The seat cannot be adjusted level and the car cannot be driven with the broken seat position. This occurred twice already in this vehicle. Infiniti refuses to provide any remedy other than replacing the seat at huge expense to me. An examination of the seat shows no abuse or special circumstances. The connection is made with a weak weld that cannot withstand normal use. Action should be taken to require Infiniti to remedy this issue at their expense.
