I just bought this car and when I took it out to drive the driver seat was sitting all the way to the floor so I tried raising the seat and noticed it wading moving so I got out to look while trying to raise it and noticed metal trying to come through the leather I don't know what's going on and I hope this doesn't cost me a lot of money to fix.

Weld broke on the driver side seat that now allows the seat to lift up. This happened in 2015. The seat will also no longer move forward. (2020) this model does not have replacement gear which means the whole seat assembly needs to be replaced since it contains the rail track. My wife is much shorter than I am and can no longer drive the vehicle.

5 Seats problem

Failure Date: 05/19/2019

While driving the vehicle, the driver seat suddenly and without warning, fell to the floor. I bought the vehicle to a mechanic and he said the railing gave way and broke. 9 Seats problem

Failure Date: 12/22/2017

As I drove on the highway and adjusted my driver's seat upwards, I heard something pop and it sunk down completely. From that moment on I had to raise myself up to be able to look over the dashboard. My sight is definitely impaired and makes driving unsafe. I also found that this is a real hazard in case of an accident. Since the chair is now detached. The estimate to fix this is around $1100. This is definitely a manufacturer's defect and dangerous. I think this should be under a recall because of the danger when in an accident.

10 Seats problem

Failure Date: 07/10/2017

Driving on the highway last week, I felt the need to adjust my seat a little bit. I tried to lift the seat up and I head a pop sound and I immediately sunk into the seat and unable to see the hood of the car but the dash. I managed to find the nearest exit and realized the motor to lift the seat was only lifting one side of the seat. I could lift it with my hand but falls on the floor when I let it go. Lucky no car was in front or closely behind me. I tried to get it fixed and I have an invoice for over $1000. That is not fair.

Drivers side seat was raising and lowering on only 1 side. I got into the car this morning and heard a popping noise. I noticed that the back of the seat would not raise up. I can physically push the seat forward from the back and the rear of the seat rises up and is not attached to anything.

When the vehicle is moving, acceleration of moving causes the seat to move backwards and forwards. This can be dangerous, perhaps leading to major failure in accident, or with hard braking.

23 Seats problem

Failure Date: 12/30/2013

Experienced issue with driver's seat leaning towards center console. Not sure when the seat began leaning; however, after I saw the issue - a few days later the seat began to block the center console from opening. I took the car to the dealer. I was informed that the seat track was broken and the cost to repair was about $1400. I was also told that there was one other car that was recently brought in for the same issue. My seat makes popping noises when I attempt to move it closer to the steering wheel and shifts forward when braking. I also notice from the back of the seat that the plastic that protects the seat hardware is pushing inward toward the carpet on the seat.

24 Seats problem

Failure Date: 12/22/2013

While driving on the highway I heard a pop and felt the seat give out and start to fall down. I pulled over and could not get the seat to go back to the correct position. Upon inspection I noticed that the seat frame is broken and could see the part sticking up from where the bottom seat connects to the rear back part of the seat. I almost had me crash into the construction barrels on the side of the road lucky it was a Sunday and no one was working.

25 Seats problem

Failure Date: 07/09/2013

I was driving my vehicle and all of a sudden I heard a noise and then the chair leaned to the right while I was driving and then shortly afterwards collapsed and found myself very low. I quickly pulled over to see what happened. It seemed that the assembly underneath the chair had collapsed. To continue to drive, I had to use several pillows to sit on to reach a height for normal driving. When I took it to the shop, the mechanic told me the seat assembly has completely malfunctioned and that I need a new chair with the assembly. He also told me that he heard about this problem in the infinity cars. I believe this is a safety haphazard and I was lucky that I was on a city street not driving fast and was able to quickly pull over and inspect the issue. If I was driving 60 miles an hour on a freeway and the seat suddenly leans to the right and then collapses, that could have potentially been a safety haphazard.

26 Seats problem

Failure Date: 05/02/2013

While driving home from work and in a posted 25 mph speed zone the drivers side seat without warning collapsed falling to the floorboard. Fortunately I was traveling at a low speed due to being in a high pedestrian area. I got my car stopped, exited the car and immediately could see that the seat had collapsed and fallen onto the floorboard. I immediately called the inifiniti dealership that was less than two miles away. The service tech advised he felt the seat had fell of the rails. I was provided with a car, after opening the next morning the service tech called me and advised the seat frame, mounting hardware had broke. I was advised my ex-warranty did not cover the parts and or repairs. The cost would be $1325. 00 to fix, I followed up with several other car dealerships including 2 out of town Infiniti dealerships. I was advised by well qualified service gm's that a seven year old car of any type should never have this type issue and especially a Infiniti make type car. One Infiniti manager at a out of town location did advise after checking service data that my make and model has a history of these type issues. He and other service techs stated they did not know how Infiniti was avoiding a NHTSA recall, especially since it was a safety issue with the drivers side seat and could and should have caused numerous wrecks. My dealership was aware of the issue, even after talking to the service gm they only discounted $300. 00 leaving my out of pocket expense paid $1,025. 00 I work with several judges and attorney's, some who are very knowledgeable in the field of vehicle safety, recalls and car maker obligations. I am proceeding with official complaints to the Infiniti corp, bbb, NHTSA. I have learned Infiniti could and should have did the repairs. This was my first and last Infiniti make vehicle, very poor product support. My weight is 185 so this is absolutely no issue.

27 Seats problem

Failure Date: 02/25/2013

After parking my car (2006 Infiniti M35x) I went to unbuckle my seat belt and to open the door, my seat reclined without pressing it to and the the rear of my driver seat fell back to the floor board. I don't why it fell for I only weight 172 lbs exactly. So I'm not the heaviest. I would of been scared if it fell while I was driving because I don't know how I would of reacted to the failure of my seat can clearly lead to an accident from that. An I research and see that it just happens and no reason except of yea seating on your seat over and over, but I don't think that's enough to do what it did. Then the dealership wanna over charge you up to $1500 to fix something that should of never happen. I'm not the only person that think that. It should be an recall on this because a lot people don't look into recalls, I'm now posting after talking to someone and saying it happen to their friend and say that it online other people had the same problem, so it can be way more complaints about seat failures that may lead to injuries and maybe deaths because luckily my seat fell when I park. With all these different safety features this car "have" get subtracted by the seat collapsing out of no where.

The issue is wihin my 2006 Infiniti M35x driver's side seat. I was in the process of making a right turn after sitting at a traffic light. When I did, the driver's side seat went left and back and I was thrown against the driver's door. There has been movement in my driver's seat when braking. It would move a couple of inches forward instead of staying in place. The dealership has estimated that it is going to cost $900 to replace the slide lift assembly.
