The power steering rack and bushings have been replaced twice on my vehicle when I turn corners or back out of parking spaces it causes leaking and loud noise.
My car vibrates when I'm driving even at 40mph, it started with only the steering shaking, now it has progressed to a point where my and the safety of my family is at risk. It is at the point where driving over the smallest crack or dent a the physically sway or make my car beer off course.

While driving the car will not stay on the road, you have to keep both hands on the wheel, and it is still back and fourth. Have had new tires put om and alignment done, did not help the problem. This happens at all speeds but is worse on the highway over 50mph.
Car steers very irratically at times pulling left or right on uneven road surfaces. Also makes groaning sounds when turning steering wheel.
Tl-the contact owns a 2006 Infiniti M35 x. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph the vehicle began to veer to the left without warning. The failure recurred on several occasions veering to the left or right. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer and was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. In March of 2014, while driving over 200 miles to a conference, I began to notice that my 2006 Infiniti M35 was pulling me to the left and to the right. Hitting a bump or a pothole would make it very easy to lose control. Being that I was in a different city, I was not familiar with local automotive technicians to assist me in determining the exact cause. This led me to purchase a whole new set of tires and a front end alignment. However, months later, the problem still exists. I am afraid that this pulling will have the potential to cause a very bad accident. I also changed out my struts because I also had the bouncing action going on, but to no avail, the problem still exists. There is definitely something seriously wrong. Could you all look into addressing this issue before it has to cost someone their life?.
My vehicle constantly pulls left and right at high speeds with the slightest road imperfection. There is something wrong with the design of the vehicle. I have the vehicle aligned, tires replaced with a different brand and aired up to the proper pressure. It is not a problem with the tires, but with the vehicle itself. It is very dangerous and infinit won't do anything to help.
When driving and coming to a stop at (30-35 mph) you would hear a loud "clunk", and the engine would stop. You have no control of the steering and no brakes. We experienced this infinity defect 7-8 times over a 90 day period. First incident 9-14-13. Note- received recall letter (13v-430) from infinity 11-04-13. Made service apt with nalley infinity, marietta, GA. To perform work related to recall letter. I was reimbursed for repairs made on 9-14-13. However, on 12-26-13 while driving in jacksonville, fla. The same problem occurred, and repeated itself 3-4 times that evening before I could reach the infinity of orange pk. Fla. On 12-27-13. Infinity of orange pk. Made the repairs. . . The cost to me for this repair was $561. This itemized bill was sent to infinity consumer affairs in franklin, TN, and they refused reimbursement. Stating that they could only reimburse for one occurrence. This inifinity incident was very dangerous, freighting and scary when it happens. We are fortunate. . . There was no accident, but it has destroyed our confidence in the infinity auto, infinity service and all infinity products.
Vehicle will lunge from left to right at highway speeds and under braking. Just like many other complaints new tires, balancing, alignments will fix the problem for a short amount of time before erratic steering returns. It requires constant correction to keep the vehicle in your lane. Also under heavy braking the car will pull left or right. New brake pads have been installed on all four corners which only gives temporary relief.
Steering tramlines on uneven pavement causing unpredictable vehicle handling.
The car loses control and steering shakes violent (trammeling) bump steer.
I own an 2006 Infiniti M35x awd . . . Great car but have experienced tremling and hard pulling either left or right when driving on uneven surfaces or making turns . . It is very scary because it happens so unexpectedly. . . Now I always have to drive expecting it to happen . . . . Not my best comfort.
I have a 2006 Infiniti M35x. I've had it for about a year. Ever since I purchased it, I have noticed sudden jerking in the steering wheel. The car seems to be "all over the road" I've brought it in to have it serviced/looked at, they tell me nothing is wrong. When I drive the vehicle, I most certainly can tell something is seriously wrong! it's dangerous, the way the vehicle pulls from left to right, in and out of lanes. I've done some research online and have learned that many many other people are having the same problems. Many of which are blaming a faulty steering rack. This is a very dangerous flaw with the Infiniti M35. I have had alignments and brand new tires. Neither of these are the problem. It seems this problem has been going on for quite sometime with several complaints and it doesn't seem like anyone is doing anything about it. After lots of research, I think it is imperative that someone look into a possible recall on the steering rack of the Infiniti M35 models 2006-2009, as these are the years which look to be having the same problems.
My 2006 Infiniti M35x drives real jerky darting to the left and right constantly whenever the road is the least bit uneven. I really like my car but the worse the darting gets I am becoming more concerned for my passengers safety as well as my own. After reading some of these reviews I don't think a newer version would be a good idea.
I bought a used M35x and the car since I purchases has a problem with the steering tracking when on the highway. The car tracks to the bumps in the road and pulls you out of the lane. To counter you need to dramatically pull the wheel back to counter. Something isn't right with the car design or set-up. I have new tires and alignment and this still didn't correct the issue fully.
My 06 Infiniti M35x likes to wander over uneven road surfaces which requires constant corrections to keep the car on its true path. Purchased vehicle used with new tires, passed inspection but seems there is a problem with the steering system in the vehicle.
**steering issue. ****when coming to stops doing local driving, vehicle front end steers to either side of road, but more so to the right. It often feels as thou front steering system is loose. When driving at highway speeds it is even worst, car wants to pull to left or right aggressively and requires constant correction of direction of steering as im driving. Living in nyc where road quality isnt exactly peachy, this is dangerous issue. Ive changed tires and got an alignment, however the issue still remains. Reported it to the dealership, but was not given any resolution to the issue. The new tires and alignment did not correct the issue. There needs to be a proper invesgation into this matter and a recall done. Especially if it turns out that so many people are reporting the issue. Such a large number of customers cant be doing something wrong and have the same issue.
When coming to stops vehicle front end steers to either side of road, as if front steering system is loose. When driving at highway speeds car wants to wonder and must constantly correct direction of steering as im driving.
Steering problem with 2006 Infiniti M35x. Car has severe tramiling or tracking problem. Car swerves to left and right dramatically when crossing crown in highway or traveling over rutted or uneven road surfaces. This condition has caused many near accidents for myself and my wife. Dealer claims that it is the way the car is supposed to handle. We have tried other tires and alianments to no avail.
I have a 2006 Infiniti M35 all wheel drive with 109,000 miles. The vehicle will randomly wander and pull from left to right. During casual driving, the vehicle will sometimes pull so abruptly that it causes me to leave the lane. I fear that one day this could cause an accident. The pulling occurs on a daily basis. I have new tires, new brakes, and the vehicle is in proper order. This has been happening ever since I got the car 50,000 miles ago.
Car pulls to each side of the road with the slightest unevenest of surface. It is a struggle to keep the car going straight if road is not new and even.
I have an '06 Infiniti M35x. The steering bucked and rolled and generally moved erratically along the highway. It was pretty regular. The tires were replaced-reduced the action-but not completely. There is something wrong w/the steering of this machine.
2006 Infiniti M35x is very difficult to keep in lane at highway speeds. Car wants to pull left or right and requires heavy steering effort to correct and maintain position in lane. So severe that hands are sore after several hours of driving. This has been an on-going problem. Tires have been replaced and four wheel alignment checked. Neither had any impact on issue.
2006 Infiniti M35x. Steering pulls left and/or right for no apparent reason on good roads and bad. Dealer says, 'it's not a problem. ' new tires. No difference. New alignment. No difference.
I have a 2006 Infiniti M35 all wheel drive with 49,000 miles. The vehicle will randomly wander and pull from left to right at freeway speeds. During casual driving, the vehicle will sometimes pull so abruptly that it causes me to leave the lane. I fear that one day this could lead to an accident. The pulling occurs on a daily basis. I have new tires, new brakes, and the vehicle is in proper order. As an ase certified master mechanic, I feel I am qualified to say that this condition is dangerous, and Infiniti should offer some sort of recall.
I own a 2006 Infiniti M35 sport with 43,000 miles that is exhibiting erratic and very alarming steering characteristics. At highway speeds, braking to a stop, or riding over uneven roads the steering will pull very hard to the left or right (inconsistently) to the point where I must actively and constantly work to keep it centered (tire pressure is at spec and ~2/3 tread depth left). I have heard that this is called "tramlining". Please help look into this before a serious accident takes someone's life. A various times and under varying conditions my vehicle will dart to one side or the other. Quick steering correction has been required to keep the vehicle from departing the lane of traffic. This will happen without warning and has on numerous occasions nearly lead to a collision.
I own a 2006 Infiniti M35 x (44,000 miles) that is exhibiting very alarming steering characteristics. At highway speeds, braking to a stop, or riding over uneven roads the steering will pull very hard to the left or right (inconsistently) to the point where I must actively and constantly work to keep it centered (tire pressure is at spec). I have been to the dealerabout the issue but the say that they don't see a problem. It has been exhibiting this issue since I purchased the car. It is not just a one time thing but everytime drive the car.
2006 Infiniti M35 sport. Tramlining issue. Car pulls to left when driving. I get wheel alignments performed, and seems to help for about 1000 miles, then the car does the tramlining issue again.
Vehicle tracks sporadically to both left and right sides when driving on highway. Feels like driving on train tracks and constantly jumping track. Creates a very dangerous situation because car pulls fiercely in either direction at will.
2006 Infiniti M35 x loss of control of steering. Car would pull both left and right while driving at highway speeds. Had to pull car off the highway and steering issues persisted. Learned of other reports on Infiniti M35x steering by researching on internet. Referred to issue as tramlining. This problem should be addressed by Infiniti as loss of steering could result in death or other serious injury.
I purchased an infinity M35 pulls to the right and the dealership is not able to fix it. I am concerned about my safety the dealership fixed the alignment, rotated the tires, they tell me it's fixed, but after each service for this problem, the problem is unchanged. There needs to be a recall to fix this problem as apparently this is a known problem at infinity and many people have complained on google. Please take action as I am concerned for my family's safety.
I own a 2006 Infiniti M35x and this car suffers terribly from erratic handling, often referred to as tramlining. This car is almost uncontrollable on rutted or crowned roads at any speed and requires constant corrective steering to avoid having this car 'dart' into the oncoming traffic or off the highway completely. My wife will not drive this car because of this defect. This problem has been reported numerous times for this model year and later, yet no recall or advisory has been posted. This design flaw will kill, and probably has killed, someone if it is not corrected. Dealers frequently attribute this to tire type/brand, tire wear, or alignment but the comments of others posting make it clear that these are not solutions. The problem persists after these steps are taken. The steering rack design is flawed and only after this is replaced does this problem go away.
Normal driving on highway the car suddenly pulled to the left moving in to the oncoming traffic lane then pulled side to side. Aggressive counter steering and slowing down was required to get the car to straighten out. Dry road 65 mph this is apparently a recurring problem with M35's. Fortunately the oncoming lane was clear or there would have been a head on. This is a serious defect which should be forced to be corrected by Infiniti. Had a previous experience like this and replaced the tires and got an alignment. This did not help it is a steering system problem. . Read more...
