The contact received a recall notification for NHTSA campaign number: 16v349000 (air bags) and stated that the part needed was unavailable to perform the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect. Bp.
Takata recall (infinity) I received a recall notice from infinity back in may or June, 2015. The notice stated my infinity,m35x, 007, was being recall due to a passenger side faulty front airbag and could not and should allow anyone to ride on the front passenger side. I would be receiving a second notice in about 30 days telling me when to bring my car in for the repairs. I never received a second notice and in October I call infinity to ask them about there pairs to my car, I was told I would received a call the first of November tell me when to bring the car in. On phone call on notice in November. I call infinity back December 28th to inform them this had been go on for a good 6 months and I need my car repaired and I can not afford to drive my car while only being able to use driver's side seat. Once again I was told I would receive a call in 4 or 5 days that has not happen.
The contact owns a 2007 Infiniti M35. When the contact pushed the on/off button under the steering wheel to turn off the vehicle, it went in reverse at approximately 10 mph. The contact sustained minor knee injuries. The vehicle stopped once it hit a pillar. The current and failure mileages were 3,196. Updated 03-07-08 the consumer also stated the airbags didn't deploy. The consumer stated the engine was still running after the crash, the vehicle was in neutral at the bottom of the hill. The incident was reported to the police, but no one came out, since it was on private property. The consumer stated after his wife parked the vehicle, she noticed the radio was still on, so she assumed the ignition was on as well. She opened the door, and reached for the ignition button while still standing on the ground outside of the vehicle hoping to turn off the ignition. The engine started, even thought the consumers foot was not on the brake. The consumer also stated the battery was defective and had to be replaced 3 weeks after the vehicle was purchased.
