1 Crankshaft Position Sensor problem of the 2006 Infiniti M35

Failure Date: 05/25/2018

About a month ago, I was driving my car home from the store and the engine stalled as I was about to pull into the parking space. I thought the battery was dead, so I called a family member to give me a jump. The car started back up and drove fine for about two days. Then it happened again, I was on my way home from picking the kids up from school and the engine stalled again, right in the middle of the highway. The car would still be on but it would not move at all. After turning the car off and waiting for a few minutes, the car started back up. I had it towed to aaa car care center, where they determined that I may need to have the camshaft and crankshaft sensors replaced. However, after doing some research online and reading countless complaints and forum posts from people who were having the same problem, I decided not to pay the $751. I read many posts from other Infiniti owners whose car would cut off while being operated, who paid tons of money to get their sensors replaced, only to have the same problem return. I drove my car home from aaa but not without incident. The car cut off in the middle of the interstate with my six year old daughter in the backseat. Very dangerous. After waiting for a few minutes, I was able to start the car again and drive the rest of the way home. I took the car to a local auto zone to check the battery and it was fine. A few days later, I had the car towed to the Nissan dealership to have my airbag replaced due to the recent (takata) airbag recall. While there, I had them do a diagnostic on the car. They found a bunch of codes, but could not tell me what the problem is with my car. I am terrified to drive the car for fear of getting into an accident. I don't know if the engine is going to stall on the interstate while I'm driving at 60 mph. This is obviously a common problem among Infiniti owners.
