1 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2010 Infiniti M35

Failure Date: 03/01/2022

The car accelerated without warning. I did not have my foot on the gas and the car just sped up. This has happened 2 times. The first time I didnt have an accident but today I did. I ran into a pole. I could have killed myself or someone around me when the car sped up. No warning. I took the car to the dealer and they admitted that there had been a recall but stated it was fixed on my car but it has not been fixed. . . . Here is the recall information 2010 Infiniti M35 report date: September 26, 2013 campaign number: 13v430000 component: vehicle speed control:accelerator pedal summary: Nissan north America, inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2006-2010 Infiniti M35 and m45 vehicles manufactured April 4, 2004, through October 5, 2010. Consequence summary: in this fail-safe mode, throttle valve deposits may cause the engine to stall when the vehicle is coming to a stop or at idle, increasing the risk of a crash. Corrective summary: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the accelerator pedal assembly and reprogram the engine control module, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin during November 2013. Owners may contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.

2 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2007 Infiniti M35

Failure Date: 02/18/2022

While traveling 65 mph on an interstate my car slowed to approximately 20mph and iwould not accelerate. The slip indicator/voc and check engine light came on and all I was able to do was make it to the exit with my hazard lights on. I thought maybe the battery or alternator was the cause. I tested both and both were good. I was been trying to track down the problem and had been at a loss until I started to investigate discovering that several 07 infinity models have been having the similar issue as mine.

3 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2006 Infiniti M35

Failure Date: 04/19/2021

Driving on my city road at 45 mph my Infiniti M35 instantly went from normal rpms to 0, brakes locking and steering as well. I was able to pull off into a company parking lot to turn my Infiniti off after getting it immediately in park. I tried to restart my car and almost five days of trying and having it towed home, I am still unable to get my car to restart. All of the interior lights from slip, brake, service enginne, the battery, etc continue to stay on. The car will try to crank but won't turn over. I have tried replacing the key fob batteries, put new oil, all new gas, 2 new batteries, multiple jumps, checked all fuses, and still nothing. The brakes are still hard to press on and locked since the idling and they won't even hardly move as I try starting the ignition. After a few tries of trying to crank all the lights stay on then loses all power again.

9 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2006 Infiniti M35

Failure Date: 05/01/2016

Takata recal, my wife called the number and talked to someone at Infiniti. But our car shuts off in traffic,,,by the grace of god, we narrowly escaped three/four different accidents. And as we were searching for the problem, we noticed a recall for that also. She asked about a loaner vehicle until the recall can be fixed. But to no avail. Im not sure of what to do, its a very bad situation when your car just shuts off, the stearing wheel locks and you began a slow coast in moving traffic. And I feel we shouldnt have to miss work, kids miss practise, and just sit home until the problem is fixed. We have no other vehicle , and terrorfied to drive this one,,, the recall says " do not allow passengers to ride in the passenger seat". . . . . . And it also shits down,, im not sure how the Infiniti loaner program works, bit I decided to write this site because ot is at the bottom of the saftey recall notice we received.

11 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2006 Infiniti M35

Failure Date: 09/27/2015

My infinity M35x 2006 is equipped with cruse control that will automatically maintain the follow distance from the vehicle ahead. If I am using cruse control at a high speed and approach a slow moving vehicle the system will automatically apply the brakes. The deceleration can be very fast and sudden, it often exceeds -5mph per second. The design defect is that the system does not light the brake lights. If I use cruse control to follow in heavy traffic, the system moves from the throttle to the brakes and back again and the brake lights do not light. If somebody was to strike my car in the tail, he might claim my brake lights did not work. The investigator would test my brake lights, he and the other driver would see that they do work. I don't think anybody would think that brake light operation might be conditional on how the car is controlled. I believe the cruse control in my vehicle to be a hazard. I recognize that my car is 10 years old and they probable do not make the same design any more. But do newer designs have the same design defect? it may require additional hardware and money to correct this, therefor it may not be corrected in newer designs and other brands. Note: I have not been in a traffic incident related to this defect.

12 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2006 Infiniti M35

These defective parks keeps making the idle jump and sometimes stall. I keep replacing them to see if they are bad but will not clear the check engine light.

13 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2006 Infiniti M35

Failure Date: 03/09/2015

On March 9th, 2015 my 2006 Infiniti M35 stalled while I was driving it and wouldn't start again. I checked the fuses and battery and couldn't find any issues so I had it towed to the local Infiniti dealer. Initially the dealer told me that the ecm (brain) needed to be replaced and, after a fair amount of pressure from me to stand behind their product, the Nissan factory agreed to cover the ecm replacement (~$2200). On April 9th, 2015 they informed me my car was "fixed and ready" however when driving home it stalled on the freeway (while going ~70mph with my kids in the car with me) and again, it wouldn't start. I had it towed back to the dealer and paid for an advanced diagnostic ($420) at which time they discovered "melted and shorting" wires between the power distribution unit (pdu) and the fuse box. . . On April 22nd, 2015 they replaced these wires (they never actually diagnosed the cause of the melted shorting wires) and they again told me my car was "fixed and ready". . . Yet again, while driving home the car stalled on the freeway and wouldn't start. I had it towed back to the dealer again and they called in an advanced factory technician who determined that the main wiring harness and another wiring harness needed to be replaced and they're quoting me an outrageous amount for the repair ($8400). The car currently shows a ~$10. 5k value on kelley blue book. . .

16 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2010 Infiniti M35

Failure Date: 11/01/2013

When car is slowing down, it will jump wildly with the rpm's and shift into different gears. Car could hit another car or person if the brake is not held firmly. Cannot get the local dealer or corp. To acknowledge the problem or fix it. The car is still under warranty. The problem is getting worse but the dealer says to drive it until there is a hard failure. I am concerned the car will jump and hit something or someone. The dealer says there could be a computer problem but they are not sure and do not want to eat the cost of a computer if that is not the problem. I looked this situation up on google and found that this problem is known for this particular model car. It did not do this before until about six months ago.

17 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2007 Infiniti M35

Failure Date: 09/17/2013

Two weeks later I get notice from infinity that this a known issue and they will come up with solution for this problem. To this date I have not heard anything for either reimbursement or a fix. .

18 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2007 Infiniti M35

Failure Date: 08/31/2013

My pedal stopped working, then it cut completely off while I was driving on a major hwy doing 60mph. I just received a recall notice in the email yesterday 11. 12. 2013, NHTSA recall 13v-430, now, I spoke with a rep stating I will receive another notice. This action has already happened to me and I have replaced it out of my own pocket. I do not see why I should have to wait on a second notice. Clearly in the recall letter it states, if the mil is illuminated, contact your Infiniti retailer immediately and it will make arrangements for an immediate repair. Do not continue using your vehicle. Again, this has already happened to me and I have paid for the replacement, what am I waiting for in order to get a full refund?????.

21 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2006 Infiniti M35

Failure Date: 02/20/2013

While driving on a freeway at low rate of speed (rush hour) I have experienced engine stall condition. All warning lights went on,including brake indicator. I was able to shift gear into park position and shut the vehicle down. After a couple minutes, I restarted the engine and drived home. That was one scary moment.

22 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2006 Infiniti M35

Failure Date: 09/14/2006

I was backing into my driveway, when I stepped on the brake the car accelerated and did not stop until it hit a concrete wall in my backyard, knocking it down. I contacted Infiniti consumer affairs. I was advised not to move the car, a dealer technician would be sent to look at the car. Finally, almost two months later, on 11/1 I had the car towed to a dealership and the technician looked at it on 11/2. All he did was drive the car, he did not do any diagnostic testing. I am still waiting for the results. I am very disappointed with inifiniti's customer service, it stinks. My insurance CO. , state farm, which I thought I could depend on to get things done, such as demanding more detailed testing, etc. , did nothing. No one seems concerned with the fact that someone could be seriously injured or killed as a result of this problem. I am terrified of having to drive that car again.
