My 2007 Infiniti M45 suddenly lost all electrical power throughout the vehicle resulting in the engine stalling which potentially could have resulted in a crash. The vehicle was immediately towed to passport Infiniti of alexandria for diagnosis and repair. The diagnostic test revealed a failed intelligent power distribution module, ipdm which after in-depth research, has proven to be faulty in multiple Nissan & Infiniti vehicles ranging from years 2004 - 2006. There are current manufacture recalls on several Nissan vehicles to replace faulty ipdm's and it is my belief that the M45 is affected likewise. Currently, the vehicle is completely out of commission and slightly outside of any manufacture warranty coverage as it is a 2007 with approximately 80,000 miles. I have contacted Infiniti consumer affairs in attempt to gain their acknowledgement and acceptance of full responsibility to cover repair cost without any success. I was informed by a case worker that there is no reported evidence of ipdm failure in the 2007 Infiniti M45 and as a consumer I have to absorb all cost to get the vehicle repaired and returned back to full operational status. The preliminary dealer assessment suggests replacing the ipdm at a very expensive $1300. 00 price tag with a 12 month or 12k warranty. According to the dealer service manager, the cost could be more depending on possible other identified electrical issues that my have triggered the ipdm failure.
The contact owns a 2007 inifiniti M45. The contact stated that the keyless ignition button failed to start the engine and the fuel gauge failed to display the proper reading. The contact stated that the check engine indicator illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to an auto parts retailer where a diagnostic test was performed related to the engine warning indicator. It was diagnosed that there was a camshaft position sensor failure, a circuit failure, engine signal 1 failure, and manufacturer mode switch circuit failure. The diagnostic test also displayed code numbers related to the engine warning indicator: c1137 and c1130. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 69,000.
