Engine Burning Oil Problems of Infiniti M45

I am starting to notice that my engine is burning excessive amounts of oil. I only have 2 thousand miles on an oil change and my vehicle was almost out of oil when I checked. I don't drive the vehicle hard at all, just normal driving. I've checked other forums and it seems to be a problem with a lot of the vehicles. This vehicle has a known defect in the engine rings. The defect began when Nissan motor company went to a cheaper ring manufacturer. The defective rings cause excessive oil consumption. Nissan is fighting claims on a case by case basis as not many units were sold. The cost of a remanufactured engine for this vehicle is $15,500. 00. However, even the remanufactured engines are defective as they carry the same defective rings.

Car had no fuel despite gauge reading. Traveling 65mph in left lane of crowded rush hour traffic on garden state parkway with no left shoulder. Very dangerous series of right lane changes and coasting in neutral to exit traffic. No accident or injury but challenging situation that did not need to happen since we all know these gauges will fail but not when. Engine has always burned oil. Requires a quart after 2,000 miles to get to next oil change.
