Car is showing a p0720 code which is an issue with the valve body. The car will not go past 3rd gear. This is a known problem with this vehicle. Infiniti is not issuing a recall. The car won't run and the consumer is having to foot the bill for the repair when they know it's an issue with the vehicle and the transmission.

Both rear doors will not open from inside or outside.

Just over 1 week ago, I was leaving a parking lot and driving back to my home when my car wouldn't accelerate past about ~10-15 miles per hour and wasn't shifting gears. When I took my foot off the gas pedal, the gear just dropped immediately from above third to first gear and the car shook. I first noticed this when already out of the parking lot and pulling off from a median onto the road, with no engine light or other warnings. I quickly pulled into the turn lane where there wasn't traffic and turned the car off and back on. It was the same but luckily I was in eyes view of my apartment, so I drove under 10 mph and made it home. I took the vehicle to a transmission service center and the error code that came up on the computer was (p0500 - vehicle speed sensor a), which the service center said is an issue with the "valve body" inside the transmission, specifically the "tcm - transmission control module" that sits on top of the valve body. I contacted multiple Infiniti service centers and they all confirmed that the valve body for my vehicle (part# 31705-x133a) is back ordered by over a month and could be longer until they have it. They do not sell the transmission control module separately. The valve body was quoted to me for $2200 for the part alone. I attempted to install an aftermarket valve body and a new error code came up on the computer (po720 - output speed sensor circuit). I kept the original valve body and will hold onto it. Doing some more research, this appears to be a common issue with the Infiniti Q50 - [xxx] in addition to the reddit thread above, a quick google search for Infiniti error codes p0500 and po720 point to multiple sources indicating the same common experience and outcome. My vehicle has 110k miles and users in the reddit comments are also reporting the same issue with the tcm transmission control module occurring between 85k - 100k miles in all cases. I was driving down the highway leaving the barbershop and my car wouldnt go over more than like 55 mph and I got a flashing green symbol beside my check engine light which had just came on when the auto (stop/start) light did. Once I got home turned it off and turned it back on the for a second the light doesn’t come on but once you drive it maybe a quarter of a mile or less it come back on and the car wont function properly again.

P07200 code came up, transmission is no good because of a cheap sensor that's impossible to fix. Seems to be very common and very inconvenient.

Driver has noticed ignition delay. Cause is unknown. Tire change is due. Cause is regular wear and tear. Vehicle inspection can be scheduled. Delay places safety of passenger at risk. Unknown if problem has been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. Tires were inspected by discount tire on November 26, 2024. Place key close to ignition message is frequently displayed on dashboard.

The locks on the car automatically keep locking all day long and drain my battery, I have had to have my car jump started and recently towed to Infiniti dealer and they are stating there have been known issues with this electrical problem with rain getting into the sunroof and deteriorating the lines that short out the other systems. I have a bumper to bumper warranty that I took out with the Infiniti dealership but they are stating only part of the repairs will be covered by the warranty and not the sunroof part and that will cost me $1,300 to fix. If this is a known problem, how is this not a recall and why do me, the consumer, have to pay out-of- pocket for something that is a known issue with the sunroofs on these Infiniti's? can someone please contact me regarding this issue ASAP. It started when my car was at Infiniti's body shop in September getting repaired from a hit and run to my vehicle that required replacement of rear left back panel and rear left back passenger driver door (that had nothing to do with this issue) and when I picked the vehicle up they had to jump start my car. They had my car for a month and nothing prior to this was wrong with my vehicle. I don't know if someone left my sunroof open and it rained or what happened since this repair, but now I am having the issue with the car locks automatically/continuously locking and draining my battery. I read online that there is a button that should be available on the dashboard to shut off the automatic locking system, but the dealer has not mentioned this and is stating I need all this electrical things done to my car that will cost over $3,000 and that the sunroof part is not covered. This is absurd and not trusting what I am hearing from the dealership. Please advise ASAP. Thank you for your time!.

I was stopped at a stop sign and pulled out into an intersection and lost power.

Possible odometer fraud seller told me it has a clean title turn out it didnt.

Theft on vehicle. Thief using remote device to unlock my vehicle and steal vehicle without key fob or breaking anything to access vehicle.

Power steering failed while driving in parking lot looking for parking spot. Unable to turn wheel without hitting parked car. I was able to drive to end of the lot where there were less cars. Noticed that I was able to turn wheel so long as didn’t step on brakes. The steering wheel was also off alignment. This happed on a Saturday evening, next day car was fine all the warning were off. Spoke to service person explained what happened. He basically said if the car is running fine they can check it out but may not find the problem. Since the car was running fine until it wasn’t. Car was parked in garage turned on the car all warning lights go on. Made appointment for 4/3/24 drove car to dealership which is not to far. The warning lights still on and no power steering. Analysis many dtc codes found related to this system:b2512 4was sig: c1b9000 dast system: c1138 4was circuit & c1a04 abs/tcs/vdc circ. Correction recommended to perform dast calibration first before performing further diagnosis. Cost $539. 15 . They also did multi-point inspection items requiring immediate attention engine air filter cost $94. 99 grand total $641. 64 out of pocket. 4/3/24 picked up car. On that evening drove the car and as I’m pulling up on drive way power steering goes out again. I managed to get the car in garage. Once I’m in push button to close garage doesn’t work and car dies no power at all. Able to get car started by playing with battery cables. On dealership notes car was there 30 miles ago. Now they say wrong battery size. That battery was replaced by them on 2/28/22. Also the battery just past multi-point 2 days ago. New battery cost $232. 78 now out of pocket $874. 42. This is now 4/10/24. Drove that evening and front splash guard fall off had to tie wrap to hold whatever pieces are left. Took it to dealership they took no responsibility. I will need to replace it. I have all my receipts from them they are the only ones who have worked on my vehicle.

I was in my car waiting my for complex security gate to open when I heard a loud noise. I got out of my car to see what it was and turns out my sunroof exploded. For no reason. No rock or item hit my car nor was the car in motion. It was also not from the heat as it was 60 degrees outside. I called my warranty and they refuse to cover it because it is glass. I am reading many others with this same issue. How does a 6 year old car have the sunroof explode??.

My car started acting weird, fob wasn’t working correctly, doors repeatedly lock nonstop and drained battery. I took to Infiniti and they said it’s water damage from my sunroof drains. It damaged my bcm. Infiniti has quoted me 3,700 dollars to fix. I’ve done lots of research and this seems to be a very common problem with the Infiniti Q50 models. I believe this is a manufactured defect. This could of left me stranded because car wouldn’t crank.

My vehicle was stolen by theives using some kind of device to gain access because I have both key fobs that came with the vehicle but somehow they were able to gain access and start it and drive off. I believe this is a security and safety concern for Infiniti vehicles. It should not be easy to steal a locked, secured vehicle.

Unknown- vehicle left the highway and crashed into a tree in a ravine and then was fully engulfed in flames. Both occupants were doa after the fire was put out.

Sun roof drain is clogged which has caused my carpets to go wet literally puddles, could potentially damage my electronics in car this is an ongoing problem for thousands of Infinitis. I am in a group on facebook and I can literally scroll and find hundreds of Infiniti owners complaining about their carpets and how Infiniti dealerships charging thousands of dollars to repair. I’ve been holding off to get this fixed in hopes that I’d find someone to assist me with a lower price but nothing.

Turbos blow prematurely, and the motor can end up with porus block at any mileage.

My vehicle has been stalling and burning/leaking oil internally for some time now with white smoke coming from the rear. Well Infiniti sent a post card and stated that the emission warranty is extended for 120,000 miles which my vehicle has had the issue for some time and it was already over 120k miles at the time of the loss. The issue Infiniti reported in their postcard is, you may experience issue with the turbocharger, overtime there is a possibility for the turbocharger thrust bearing to wear and leak oil internally. The most likely conditions you will experience are excessive white smoke from the exhaust, mil-on an in rare cases reduced engine power or damage to the internal components. My vehicle is experiencing all these issues reported and the company, Infiniti, knows this is an issue and did not issue a recall the extended warranty instead, most people will not qualify for which will require people to thousand of dollars replacing the turbocharger assembly and engine control model. I got a quote and was told 8000 dollars unfortunately I cannot have repairs done. I believe it was January 2025 when the post card came from Infiniti identifying the issue.

I have repeated incidents of the car losing power while driving. The first time this happened was in 2018. Under the manufacture warranty both air sensors were replaced. The incident occured again in 2021. I had it towed to a dealership in jacksonville. They were unable to repeat the failure. In 2022 it occured again. I drove the car to a Nissan dealership in brunswick GA. They reset some codes and the car drove ok. Today while driving I lost power again. I pulled into a parking lot and turned the car off. Once I restarted the car it drove ok. This has also occured on other occasions and seem to self correct if the car is turned off and restarted. There is no rhyme or reason to when this problem will present itself and could cause severe harm if driving in heavy traffic on the interstate.

4/16/2023 Sunday 5pm with my wife and daughter in the car, I started the vehicle in my driveway and selected sport mode as usual. Selected reverse and backed into our turnaround then forward to the end of our driveway. Driveway is approximately 4 car lengths long with a 20 ft long apron turnaround. Almost immediately after braking at the end of the driveway while waiting for passing traffic to exit drive, vehicle suddenly accelerated and I immediately pressed the brake as hard as I could to prevent driving into passing vehicles. I could hear the tires trying to grip/spin while I was fighting to press the brake harder to hold it t back. I then panicked and selected the gear shifter to anything other than drive and it immediately did the same in reverse. After getting in into park, I immediately selected standard mode and the vehicle performed normal afterwards. There were no warning lights or anything to indicate any issues. Previously I had noticed minor intermittent issues of high rpms when slowing or braking while in sport mode but it would immediately correct itself. I have not had a chance to take it for inspection as it's now Monday morning April 17. We were all very shaken. Please advise.

My vehicle suddenly jumped then accelerated slowly and wouldn't get past 3rd gear while driving on i275 (speed limit 55mph) proceeded to mechanic, error code 0720 speed sensor output related to transmission. Then was told by Infiniti and another auto body repair shop that it most likely in models 2014-2016 it was a transmission assembly that needed replaced. That Infiniti was given a service bulletin that they should not just replace the speed sensor. I believe this should be a recall. My vehicle has less than 60,000 miles and has been garaged and has had all maintenance completed. This is a safety issue, Infiniti is aware of this and it is also a costly repair anywhere from $2500-$3000. I am asking for a recall of valve body for infinite Q50 2014-2016.

I went to evo motors to find a car and found a car filled out an application and had to return to the next day because they were closing there was already talk about a down payment but no credit transaction was happening yet. I didn’t even have an offer on the credit yet so I came back the following day and on the way there I got a phone call that the bank was requesting a down payment in the amount of $4500. The salesperson was requesting cash downpayment and I thought that was strange since that was a lot of cash to have on hand. Me and girlfriend had a decent score to acquire the car but the dealer insisted on the cash downpayment and told us the bank was requested the down payment in order to get the car. I was very uncomfortable but I needed the car as I had lost my previous car in an accident and I needed to get to work and was in a rental car. I demand my down payment back in the amount of $4500 plus interest and keep the car as the transaction was unconscionable. They took advantage of my position in the basic necessities and livelihood as I needed to keep working to survive. The added burden was that I had to call friends and family all day long to come up with a downpayment I didn’t have and I had to pay everyone back in a short time. I was so stressed that I got sick and have still not recovered from the transaction that took place that has led to the moment where it was not fair to extort funds I did not have to further benefit them even after had already enriched themselves with the sale of a vehicle that had a very high-interest rate for our credit profile. It’s obvious they had complete control over every aspect of this contract.

I have 3 issues with the car. The braking issue presented itself last in time but is most important relative to safety. Around mid January 2022, my car, while I was driving, and without any notice, began to decelerate/brake for no reason. My car is equipped with front driver assist but there were no cars, hazards, in front of me. It was a clear, dry day and the car was warm. It was momentary and fortunately no one was behind me. The car beeped, but there was no other warning. The second time this same event happened, however, the accelerator pushed back against my foot. Again, no one was in front of me and it was a clear, dry day. The third time this happened, the car beeped and what I know now is the cruise control indicator, appeared on the display. I did not touch the cruise control to activate. The other two issues were that both display screens were blacking out and rebooting while driving, for no apparent reason. The other issue is with the sirius xm satellite, which is not functioning properly. I have informed sirius xm of this issue as well. Given all of these issues, possibly all electrical, I contacted my local Infiniti dealer to assess, with special concern for the random braking issue. The car was assessed and they could not duplicate any problems. They mentioned that perhaps if they had more time they may be able to duplicate the problems. The following Monday, I took the car to the dealership and left it overnight for assessment. I was called the next day and advised that they could not duplicate the issues. The dealership returned the car without making any repairs, diagnoses, or being to able to duplicate problems. Since the car has been returned to me, it has continued to have problems. The braking issue has happened twice since, with one time involving the accelerator pushing back. The screen has blacked out and gone into parking mode, while I was driving. I have contacted Infiniti corporate to advise of problems.

While driving vehicle if you suddenly stop vehicle would stop, however when applying pressure to gas pedal vehicle would not move, if foot is left on pedal car would jerk and then proceed forward. Unlike other vehicle after breaking hard vehicle would move without hesitation.

My steering wheel heater used to work normally, meaning an acceptable temperature, and divided evenly through my steering wheel. It is now only getting super hot, to where I cannot even hold it, on the bottom left part of the steering wheel. The rest of the steering wheel is cool.

The car sometimes turning - changing lanes - just various times the rear end will slide around - or skid. Just does it various times - does not matter if the road is wet or not. Infiniti service did not find an issue - but there is definitely an issue. No certain time so hard to pinpoint what is causing it.

My vehicles belt has torn twice leaving me stranded many other Infiniti Q50 owners have experienced it and Nissan has no solution but to replace it.

My 2019 Infiniti Q50 sunroof exploded outward while I was driving on a highway on a straightaway, there were no objects that impacted the sunroof. There are other reports on the web of identical issues.

Vehicle would not start and determined that battery was dead. Arranged for jump start (through my roadside assistance program) but vehicle would still not start. Had vehicle towed to Infiniti dealership. They figured out a way to charge car (wasn't accessible via front hood since a hybrid) and found a way to open truck to direct access and charge battery. Upon car starting, various error codes appeared. Car dealership had no knowledge of what they meant as they had not seen them before. I contacted Infiniti corporate and they associated the codes with a previous das voluntary recall. However, upon further investigation by dealership, it was determined that das update was already applied. To determine the root cause, I was told it would require the car to be partially disassembled. As two of the codes points to a braking system issue, and one to the chassis system, I wanted to verify if this is a safety issue and if a recall is needed. (see attachments for reference).

2019 Infiniti Q50 sunroof shattered while driving about 65mph down the highway. There were no visible rocks/debris on roadway or seen coming towards vehicle. Sounded like a shot or explosion and most of the glass seemed to shatter outwards.

Was driving my Infiniti Q50 on a normal dry day when all of a sudden it down shifted or felt like I was driving a standard model vs automatic. . . I pull over my engine light comes on. . I turned off all sensors associated with the intellitouch system thinking it was not judging the distance correctly between cars because it will automatically slow your car down. . . Continued driving and I'm noticing as I try to accelerate my car is not shifting into 3rd gear. . . So I get to about 35-40 mph and now I can tell it's revving in the same gear. . Get home google the issue and it seems the valve body on the 2015 Q50 has a thread. . . Go to youtube this guy has a video about him being told it's the speed sensors. . . But when he went for repair Infiniti informs him the valve body needs replacing. I took my car into an Infiniti dealer , spent $180 to have a diagnostic run and was told their is a service bulletin for the speed sensors that they should just replace the valve body. The valve body is $1635 and on a national back order as of August 2020 when I'm experiencing this issue. . Called Infiniti consumer affairs and I'm told well unless you pay for the part we can't do anything to get it expedited. . . It's been 45 days. . . So I have to tie up $1700 and don't know when this part may be available. . Can't drive car because I'll burn my transmission up. . . The valve body in 2015 Q50's need to be recalled. . . I could have been on the freeway or driving to or from louisiana from houston. . Luckily I was within 15 miles of my home. . Called the other 2 Infiniti dealers in houston none of them have it in stock and have at least 1 Q50 waiting for repair. . Called the dealer in austin also no stock with 2 valve bodies on reserve. . . I have 106000 miles on my Q50 and it's no longer under warranty. . This issue has been reported at fewer miles like 30k-50k so has nothing to do with the age of the car.

No air on driver side blowing hot air! blend door actuator not working do not work at all.

I was driving to work at approx 6:15am on hwy 17. Speed was approx 40mph when the sunroof suddenly exploded. Most of the glass flew out showering the cars behind me. I didn't hear or see anything hit the sunroof.
