Forward emergency braking (Feb) activating when not needed. January 11th 2020 first day of owning infniti Q50 luxe 3. 0t no packages, only Feb (which is standard on all Q50 now) driving home from kelly Infiniti of denvers, MA dealership. Allen rd extention - speed limit 30mph, slightly windy road, wet, possibility of black ice. All of a sudden, with not a single car ahead of me and no cars going toward me - car starts to brake like collussion to some imaginary object is unavoidable. Was able to stay on the road. Few days after that - driving from nashua, nh to my house at 159 allen rd by highway rt 3 (55 mph). Driving in the middle lane, switching into the left lane to pass slow moving car in middle lane. There are two cars in the left lane and plenty of space in between them. Distance to the car ahead of me in left lane is about 10-12 yeards. To the car behind - 15-20 yeards. All of a suddne when I already moved into the left lane car starts to brake like there is no tomorrow, car behind me almost rear ended me. What was worse - the person in that car thought I did that on purpose and crazy person starts to chase me sitting dangerously close to my rear bumper. Then he/she passes me and hits the brakes in front of me - I barely avoided rear ending that car at highway speed. Friday January 24th 2020 driving on rt 3 (speed limit 55mph) driving in the right lane, slow moving truck in front of me, changing lane to the left (middle lane), in the process of passing the truck - already driving by the truck's side - all of a suddne car starts to brake so hard that car stats to sway and I see in the right rear view mirrow that trunk of my car is under the truck. Mirciously I was able to manage to escape this situation. This car with this technology is unsafe to drive, it will cause more accidents than prevent.

My vehicle has an optional tech package that provides forward braking, lane departure and backup braking. Apparently when I hit a pothole, these safety features occasionally turn off. Iv'e had these car for 4 1/2 years and became aware of this problem about 6 months ago. I'm have become dependent on these safety enhancements and no-longer feel comfortable when driving. I have complained the dealership since November 19 and still have not received a positive response all I want is to have a working safety system. .

There are time when I go to turn my steering wheel I am giving more force to turn the car and my car shows no mechanical damage or anything but when I turn the wheel it stiffens up a lot and it is not smooth to turn especially when I am making turns I see this and it is when I'm in the city mostly.
I was driving on I-65 at 4:00 pm on June 19 when my sunroof exploded. No other vehicles or debris were near me and no indication of impact.
I was pulling off from the grocery store and my car stalled like it didnt wantto go. So I stopped and put it back in park and then started to proceed again. . . . Thats when I got all the flashing errors for my awd and the chassis system. The rear right abs sensor is the problem per the dealer. My awd error light and chassis system error light are on along with the abs light. I've read up on alot of peoples comments about the same problem. This issue needs to be dealt with with the manufacturer as this seems to happen more often after the warranty runs out. This is my second Infiniti car, and was hoping not to run into these expensive sensor issues all over again. My next car will not be an Infiniti.

Driving 62-67mph on the highway, sunroof shattered. Loud sound of shatter. I was in the very left lane (passing lane). There was a vehicle that cut me off and passed the car in front of me on the left shoulder which may have kicked up debris when it got in front of the vehicle in front of me from shoulder, but video doesn't show it. It could have been a very small pebble or something. Https://youtu. Be/8mbekwtgyqw.

I originally owned this Q50 2018 VIN jn1ev7ar7jm445555 and Infiniti replaced it with the one I had listed. The fact is I own neither of them any longer but feeli should report it because it is a safety issue which Infiniti refused to deal with. The blind spot light did not work on either car . Brtween 10 am and 8 pm you could not see the light and audible signal you could barely hear. I am reporting this problem in the hopes of saving lives. It was a safety issue it cost me $$ the second replacement but never felt comfortable in the car . Yet Infiniti could care less though the dealer was very helpful.

Ac is blowing warm air on driver side and cool on passenger side when both temperature are set to 60 degrees.
I am experiencing software related issues that have become increasingly dangerous. In sum, the Infiniti software shuts down or locks up forcing me to become an it technician while driving. When the software shuts down, I lose the speedometer, tachometer, climate control and audio control. Here's an overview of my experiences for the past 3 years: randomly, the software will shut down leaving me without my instrument panel (speedometer, tachometer), climate control and audio control. Randomly, the software will lock up leaving me without climate control or audio control and the only resolution is to pull over, shut down and restart the car randomly, climate controls are set to 60 degrees w/ ac yet hot air is blowing out of the vents. Most recently, the onboard clock that displays the date and time will reset to 01-01-2012 and the clock will start at 6:00 am. The only resolution is to reset the date and time. This seems to occur every 3 or 4 weeks. When I call the service department I'm asked to bring in the vehicle only to be told that all updates have been applied and the issues cannot be duplicated. I have taken and posted several youtube videos showing the problems-which I'll admit is very dangerous to do while driving. In fact, I firmly believe that when these software issues occur, I am forced to play the role of an it technician and troubleshoot the issues while driving which is incredibly dangerous. These issues occur randomly while driving. This is a lease vehicle and I plan to return early as the continued issues put me and my family in danger.
Issue: j hooks holding floor mat creates driver safety issue. J hooks are not stationary and when rotate causes floor mat to come loose and create safety issue by preventing properly using gas and brake pedal. Background: purchased 2015 Infiniti Q50 as cpo Infiniti thousand oaks w\11,992 miles on 5/4/16. 5/21/16 with 12,622 took first time into dealer to address issue of driver floor mat sliding around and bunching up preventing me at time from appropriately reaching the gas or brake pedal. Dealer indicate this is normal with car models. . 7/26/16 took back to dealer as issue was happening daily. Dealer srv manager looked at and acknowledged issue and offered me new floor mats and replacement of j hooks. Accepted. 8/11/16 3rd time at 16,825 miles. Same issue again with j hooks and floor mat. This time dealer inspected and indicated floor mat comes loose from floor hook. Unable to make further repair to car. I escalated to Infiniti customer affairs with letter and phone call. I asked for vehicle buy back under California lemon law. Approx. 12 days later Infiniti replied with following: Infiniti realizes situations may occur with your Infiniti vehicle that, unfortunately, fall outside of the parameters of the new vehicle limited warranty provided with your vehicle. They said no way in not to many words. Talked to lemon lawyer and said be careful dealer doesn't like to be sued, they will hire expert witnesses and if you lose you have to pay for their witnesses. Went back to dealer and was told all the j hooks do the same thing. They are not stationary and rotate around and if you step out of the car and put pressure on the mat it will move. Was told we won't put this into writing. I bought a ugly all winter thick rubber mat which is heavy and doesn't move around. Given floor mat issues Infiniti should taker of issue better.
I just learned this week that my Infiniti Q50 has been determined to be one of the three vehicles most vulnerable to automated hacking, along with the Jeep cherokee and the Cadillac escalade. Consequently, Chrysler recalled 1/4 million Jeep cherokees in order to patch their software to prevent hackers from taking remote control of these vehicles. I attempted to contact Infiniti and they refuse to acknowledge that there is even a problem, let alone that they are working on a patch of their own. I want to know what the NHTSA is going to do about this, as opposed to waiting until someone is killed before acting. Hurrah for Chrysler!.
First incident of this happening was during a trip to white plains, where the navi and info touch system would randomly restart. Within the 45 minute drive the system has restarted twice on me, and at the most inconvenient times, where I really needed to see the directions. I didn't pay it any mind at first since it was essentially an electronic item and like all electronics, it reboots from time to time. But needless to say that it has been more then inconvenient, to the point where it is useless. I have used the navi system on my phone more then the navi system itself, because it is unreliable! I have brought it to the dealership twice already and according to the dealership "if we can't reproduce the issue, Infiniti won't troubleshoot it". Even though I have video footages of the issue happening as I was driving, in different time stamps and locations. Unfortunately I don't have every incident, because I use my phone as my main navigation system. They stated this is natural for the system to reboot at least 2 to 3 times a month, which is understandable, but 2 to 3 times a day? I have leased 2 other Infiniti's prior to this Q50 and loved them all, but never had this problem before. The issue is still occurring.
While slowly backing out of a parking spot in a parking garage, the vehicle automatically braked so abruptly that I thought I had struck something in the roadway. I got out to check and the roadway was clear. I returned to the vehicle to continue and it did the same thing again. I was then able to continue. I had previously been to the dealership with issues with the sonar system for the backup collision warning and avoidance system registering false positives and beeping endlessly. Components were replaced. The problem clearly was not fixed. This technology does not work and makes the vehicle frightening to drive.
While traveling on the highway on 2/15 at 65mph with the intelligent cruise control system engaged, the vehicle automatically and abruptly applied the brakes very hard. There were no vehicles in front of us to warrant engagement of the collision avoidance system. An error message displayed on the dashboard. It was extremely unsettling to the point that my wife no longer wants to travel in the vehicle, nor will we have our infant son travel in it. The vehicle had previously abruptly braked in low speed conditions (ie, parking lots) for no apparent reason. Dealer had previously replaced radar system components prior to the 2/15 incident. I will no longer use the driver aids as a result as they are clearly not safe.
The seatbelt on the driver side will tighten up across neck and chest when driver assist controls go off at will when car is coming to a stop or when car is being driven on uneven or bumpy roads. The seatbelt chokes me as though I am in an accident. I have pictures of the injury on my chest. In July, after the seatbelt did this, I started having problems on the left side of my neck. It was very painful, I had two pain injections done and neither worked. I have lupus which affects my joints and when I was sent to have a second opinion, the first thing the doctor asked was, had I been in an accident. I mentioned the seatbelt and he said it is a possibility that it inflamed the area. I had to have surgery on October 14, 2014. The car display system freezes. I have taken this car back to the dealer approximately 5 times with the most times being when it had less than 1000 miles. I have contacted Infiniti and they have set up 2 cases, with no effective results. I have never turned the heater on because the car gets very hot inside and I can feel the heat on my feet on the driver's side. I am anemic (very cold natured) in the summer 82 degrees is comfortable for me. This car gets very hot. I can feel the heat on the outside and sometimes I smell something burning when I get out. The display panel gives erroneous information such as "other maintenance?" and "tire maintenance?" but when checked, everything is fine. I have tired to work something out but they are refusing to accommodate me. Whether they refund my down payment and enough where I could trade out of this car. This is a leased vehicle (36) months. Money for pain and suffering. Because of this surgery, I will not be able to return to work until December and I am off without pay and this will be additional time without pay. I have filed a complaint with bbb. Please help me.
I get distortive images and intense glares from headlights of cars behind me, and coming towards me when driving at night. These images are vertical beams of light with horizontal lines and shoot towards the sky. Every car behind you will reflect two beams with the lines, and if there are several cars behind you it becomes more pronounced, like a sea of vertical beams with glaring lights. I also get intense glares of lights from headlights behind me and coming towards me. It feels like every car behind or coming towards me have their high beams on. This experience is blinding, distracting, disturbing, makes me disoriented, and is a safety issue. Since taking ownership of this vehicle on March 19, 2015, I have had to limit my night driving. This experience has substantially impaired my enjoyment of this vehicle. I have complained to the dealer and the manufacturer, and to date, no resolution. The dealer, nationwide Infiniti of timonium claims that the problem cannot be corrected. Dealer claims that the auto dimmer is not faulty and all the Q50's drive this way.
