* the passenger airbag light came on July 2025. I was not in a accident the light just came on. * 7/29/2025 I took my car in for service at infinity of las vegas (the only infinity dealership in las vegas) I asked to check why the airbag light was on. I was told the occupant sensor unit was abnormal. Sensor and module internally shorted out. Recommend to replace passenger front seat frame assembly (only available as a 1 piece both sensor and module internally shorted seat frame assy). @ $ 8678. 76. Because it’s a different seat from the original seat, I would have to also replace the seat belt. @ 116. 87. * it is not recommended to drive a car with the air bag light on. This car is my only source of transportation. * on August 4, 2025 I took my car to auto dynamic services and they suggested initial repair was to replace the occupant detection module. The part was ordered from Nissan, when they received the part it was an updated part design which was slightly larger with more pins than the original part and could not be used on my car. They reordered the part from another Nissan retailer ensuring it matched the original part for my car. Now it’s Aug. 27th, 2025. Auto dynamic received the correct replacement module. Unfortunately the part was replaced and the airbag light came on again. They also stated the seat would have to be replaced in order for the airbag light to go off. For around the same price. It cost me 1800. 00 to find this out. * I do not have money to resolve this issue especially if the driver airbag errors next, I am fearful of the unknown driving around with the airbag light on. If in an accident possibly not being covered because I was driving with a know issue. Or the bags just deploying randomly. * on [xxx] I traded a perfect running car in, I did not receive much on the trade as the airbag light is on. I can drive safely and register the car when required * it looks like there was a recall but the Q50 2. 0 turbo was not included. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of inf.

I took the car into the dealership to diagnose the reason that I was getting a seat belt light and they said that the guide suggested to do a zero point reset on the seat. When they attempted this they said that it failed and now the system has an airbag light on. There is no more seat belt light on now for the passanger side, but there is a hard error code for the airbag system on the passenger side. The dealership now says the cost to repair is over $8500 when the car is only valued at $10000. I saw that there was a voluntary recall on a 2016 edition and it said that if the zero point reset should fail then the OCS module needs to be replaced, but now they are saying tha the OCS module and seat need to be replaced. This looks to be like an issue with the model itself. The reason this is a safety issue, is that now the airbags will not work on the passenger side. This is caused by the zero point procedure that Infiniti has instructed their techs to do. I believe they are causing issues and had this not been needed then I would not have had an airbag issue. If there was an airbag issue before this procedure then the symbol was not correct and was false. It was a safety issue since the passenger side airbag will not deploy in this case.

The seat belt light went on without a passenger and the dealer decided to perform a zero point reset on the passenger seat and that resulted in a failure and now the airbag light is on. This causes the passenger airbag to not be operational. Before it was just the seat belt. They are now asking for $8000+ to replace the seat and OCS module and they said that they would cut the price by 50% but that is still $4000. The seat belt is covered by 10 year warranty but the airbag is covered only 7 year. I feel that since the seat belt was the iniial problem that it should all be covered under the warranty. Searching online there are numerous other Infiniti owners are having the same issue with the passenger seat and they are all being told that the seat needs to be replaced. This looks to be like a fauly module issue and thiink that Infiniti should be responsible for the fix. This has been happening with models from 2014-2018 two different series of Q50 models. This causes the passenger airbag to be non operational and feel that there are a lot of Q50 and other models on the road that are no longer safe to drive!!!!.

I'm having problems with my seat belt clicking in and it's hard to take out to unlatch it as well.
Hi, I purchased this vehicle at 7/31/2015. It's a brand new Q50 2015 premium. I met two issues about 1. It's passenger air bag. The passenger air bag status light is on with an adult occupying the front passenger seat for the first a few minutes, sometimes is 2 mins, sometimes is even 5 mins, but it supposed to be off after 7 seconds. I'm worried about the my safety in that period. 2. The seat belt issue. Once I was sitting on the passenger seat, I didn't buckle up yet, but the seat belt status lights was not illuminated. Yesterday, my boyfriend dropped me off, after I left the passenger seat and took off my car, he saw the seat belt status light was on. I tried to communicate with the dealer and customer service, but it seems they can't help me at all. They just told me there's no code shows any issues need to be fixed. I really want to just return the car.
The seatbelt on the driver side will tighten up across neck and chest when driver assist controls go off at will when car is coming to a stop or when car is being driven on uneven or bumpy roads. The seatbelt chokes me as though I am in an accident. I have pictures of the injury on my chest. In July, after the seatbelt did this, I started having problems on the left side of my neck. It was very painful, I had two pain injections done and neither worked. I have lupus which affects my joints and when I was sent to have a second opinion, the first thing the doctor asked was, had I been in an accident. I mentioned the seatbelt and he said it is a possibility that it inflamed the area. I had to have surgery on October 14, 2014. The car display system freezes. I have taken this car back to the dealer approximately 5 times with the most times being when it had less than 1000 miles. I have contacted Infiniti and they have set up 2 cases, with no effective results. I have never turned the heater on because the car gets very hot inside and I can feel the heat on my feet on the driver's side. I am anemic (very cold natured) in the summer 82 degrees is comfortable for me. This car gets very hot. I can feel the heat on the outside and sometimes I smell something burning when I get out. The display panel gives erroneous information such as "other maintenance?" and "tire maintenance?" but when checked, everything is fine. I have tired to work something out but they are refusing to accommodate me. Whether they refund my down payment and enough where I could trade out of this car. This is a leased vehicle (36) months. Money for pain and suffering. Because of this surgery, I will not be able to return to work until December and I am off without pay and this will be additional time without pay. I have filed a complaint with bbb. Please help me.
