36 Service Brakes problem of the 2008 Infiniti QX56

Failure Date: 02/15/2013

I was driving down the road when my brakes started to skip. I stop my vehicle and put the vehicle in park and then put it back in drive then I was able to drive again as normal. It happen three more times after that. It's very dangerous for this kind of issue to occur in travel while driving at any rate of speed. I need this issue looked at by the dealer ship at their expense.

37 Service Brakes problem of the 2006 Infiniti QX56

Failure Date: 10/17/2012

While attempting to slow my vehicle , with 8 passengers, the brakes started to act irratically. There was no way to slow the vehicle in a controlled manner. Either the braking was too hard or too soft almost leading to a collision. I took my vehicle to the Infiniti dealer that I purchased it from new. They replaced the brake booster at a cost of over $900 dollars. This was in October of 2012. 10, 000 miles later in may of 2014, the exact same braking issue again happened with my vehicle fully loaded with passengers. I took it to the local Nissan dealership and they are saying that the same parts need to be replaced now at a cost of over $1400 . This is a major safety issue and is in no way related to normal maintenance.

39 Service Brakes problem of the 2004 Infiniti QX56

Failure Date: 04/12/2012

Driving with my two young children about 35 mph when I depressed the brakes the car shuttered badly on the front end and the peddle went all the way to the floor and the vehicle barely slowed down. Luckily there was no-one in front of me or I would have crashed. Problem continued until the vehicle was turned off and re-started. Extremely dangerous!!! many other similar accounts and it doesn't sound like there is a difinitive resolution to the problem even after spending thousands at the dealerships.

40 Service Brakes problem of the 2012 Infiniti QX56

Failure Date: 10/20/2011

The standard Qx56 comes with more than adequate room for any size shoe on the accelerator pedal. Less than 10% of the qx models are ordered with the technology package. This package includes a design feature that causes the gas pedal to push back against the operators foot if the radar senses that the vehicle is closing distance too quickly on the vehicle ahead. The mechanical/electrical device that performs this action is mounted to the firewall at the top of the accelerator pedal. I am 6'3" tall and have a size 12 shoe. The tip of my shoe keeps getting caught under this mechanical device and on multiple occasions in the first week of ownership it has caused a momentary delay in quickly moving from the accelerator to the brake pedal. The hang up of the tip of my shoe is exaggerated greatly by dress shoes with a firmer tip of the sole of the shoe. Again, this device is only present on qx models with the technology package. This tech package device also gets in the way as you go to push on the gas pedal. The only way to avoid this problem is to always remember to place your right heel at least 2" away from the base of the gas pedal and push it only with your toes. Moving your heel away from the bottom of the pedal results in the tip of your shoe touching the pedal lower and just brushing the underside of the tech package device. I have contacted consumer support at Infiniti USA and they have told me that they have had complaints but "that's just the way it is for people with bigger feet". I guess they don't have size 12 in japan. This is a hazard when the tip of my right shoe gets caught and prevents me from moving quickly to the brake.

43 Service Brakes problem of the 2006 Infiniti QX56

Failure Date: 06/07/2011

While traveling on the freeway at about 60 mph, traffic in front of me began to slow. When I applied the brakes, the break pedal almost went to the floor and made a banging or thumping noise. It felt like the abs went off and I almost ran into the back of the car in front of me. This has occurred many times since I have owned this vehicle and when I take it to the dealership they cannot find anything wrong and suggest to start replacing parts at the cost of a few thousand dollars. The most recent incident was yesterday while traveling on the freeway. Again I had to stop suddenly as there was debris in the roadway and the brake pedal went to the floor.

47 Service Brakes problem of the 2004 Infiniti QX56

Failure Date: 11/17/2009

Periodically, on the order of once every month or two months, the antilock brakes become erratic. The pedal goes soft and the brakes engage extremely violently. When it happened the first time I pulled over to the side of the road and called my Infiniti dealer. I kept the engine running while I explained what happened and was told to turn off the engine, wait about ten seconds and then restart the SUV. The brakes worked normally after that. I was told the "computer had to be re-booted". This continues to happen on and off about every month or two. Never was given a satisfactory explanation as to why this occurs. When it happens if there is no traffic around, I put the car into neutral, turn off the key, then restart the car and the problem resolves. If I am in traffic I slow down gingerly, then pull off to the side of the road and turn off the key and restart the engine. This resolves the problem until the next time.

50 Service Brakes problem of the 2004 Infiniti QX56

Failure Date: 12/01/2006

I have a 2004 Qx56 and have been having brake problems since I first got it. The brakes were replaced under an initial recall in 2005, but a new problem began in 2006 and has been occurring since. Initially, only about once every 2 months, the brakes will sporadically pulsate and the car will come to a quick halt. I would just restart the car and it was fine. The dealership said it was a firmware problem, and "flashed" the firmware. It still kept happening, they flashed the firmware over and over again, and then just said there was nothing more that could be done. Now that the truck is out of warranty, the dealership says it is being caused by a bad brake booster, and will cost $1,100 to fix. But this has been happening since long before it was out of warranty, and now it is happening much more often, almost every day. Review of different Infiniti forums shows many Qx56's, Nissan armadas, and Nissan titans are experiencing this problem. Nissan has put out a service bulletin acknowledging the problem, but their solution does not solve the problem. This should really be investigated further and a recall issued for whatever the cause of the problem is.

51 Service Brakes problem of the 2004 Infiniti QX56

Failure Date: 11/13/2006

Same issue as all other posting. . Loss of brakes, shudder, lights go off. I had it towed in. As it was under warranty, they reprogrammed and redid all brakes. . . Now, same problem 9 months ago. . I cleared everything and it recurred again. . This is lifethreatening. . . I'm amazed no action has been taken with all these posts (and many others on other compliant boards). Will someone have to get killed and then officially start a class-action?.
