A subframe is a key structural component of every car. As such, it stands to reason that it should last as long as the car itself. Doing much research on this model suspension and subframes become rusted as I didn’t know this when purchasing making it very unsafe . I experienced being involved in almost 2 accidents. Very dangerous. Subframe split in half and suspension. Something needs to be done as a lot of people are going thru this issue and Infiniti slogan claims “new horizons” by no means new horizon going to heaven by driving their vehicles.

While driving at highway speed, rear of vehicle suddenly became uncontrolled and caused vehicle to swerve dangerously. If a vehicle would have been in the adjacent lane an accident would have occurred. Upon initial inspection, the left rear lower control arm failed catastrophically due to rust rendering the vehicle undrivable. Driver and passenger were put at risk as a result of this incident. Deeper inspection revealed the right rear control arm was also compromised due to rust as well as the two forward mounting points of the modular rear suspension cradle (framework). No warning lights appeared, however the steering wheel did begin correcting to the right just prior to event, similar to heavy wind situation. Parts have not been inspected by manufacturer. Pictures attached. Parts are available for inspection upon request.

The contact owns a 2013 Infiniti Qx56. The contact stated that intermittently while parked, and while driving at various speeds, the rear of the vehicle was sagging. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the air shocks and compressor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and the contact was informed that the warranty had expired. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.
While my wife was driving our Qx56 during normal conditions at approximately 40mph, Qx56 begun to swerve repeatedly left to right in a dangerous manner and she had to apply brakes rapidly. Looking under the vehicle, the lower control arm was badly cracked and the cause of the swerving. I towed to my local shop (not Infiniti dealership) for repair and they confirmed the right control arm was cracked. They stated the left control arm was also severely rusted / damaged and wasn't too far from cracking either. Fortunately, my wife was only going 40mph and was able to control the swerving. If going 70 or 75mph on the highway, I'm not sure that would have been possible. Pictures are attached, both of broken right control arm which caused swerving and left control arm that is near cracking. With both control arms going out at same time, I feel this is a dangerous, quality control issue from Infiniti. I spoke with seth at Infiniti consumer affairs who stated they wouldn't reimburse the repair at a non-Infiniti repair show and didn't appear to plan to pass on the seriousness of the problem.
The contact owns a 2009 Infiniti Qx56. The contact while driving approximately 25 mph, there was swaying in the rear of the vehicle. The contact also stated that the fuel gauge was not operating properly after the fuel tank was filler. Additionally, there was an unknown failure with the rear suspension. The tire failure warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that an independent mechanic diagnosed the vehicle with rear suspension failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 21v402000 (suspension, steering). The approximately failure mileage was 167,000.

The rear controls arms and cradle mount were riddled with severe fissures, causing car to sway dramatically. The level of component failure posed a severe safety risk to me. My mechanic was shocked by the amount of failure to these major rear suspension components. I have included photos and receipts for repairs.
Timing chain started rattling @ 125,000 miles. . However, my VIN shows no recall for my car. Cats went bad, had to be replaced and now need to be replaced again. Yet no recall on my car. The battery constantly goes dead in the car. I bought a new infinity battery in the car the same thing happened. You can reproduce this problem by sitting in the car listening to the radio for 30 minutes. I was sitting in the car listening radio and the car battery went dead and the car shut off. This is a huge issue, the Qx56 is a 8 cylinder car. It does not charge very easily. I have to carry a battery charger in my car. I have been stranded several times in the last year. I have taken the car to infinity and they claim nothing is wrong with the car. Since it is a big car the battery drain quickly.
The air suspensions of this SUV goes out. The white paint for my 2011 gx56 is peeling all over the vehicle. And needs to be painted ASAP. This vehicle is a luxury truck that's peeling bad.
I purchased my 2011 Infiniti Qx56in January of 2015 with 36,6036 miles on it. I take excellent care of my vehicle mechanically and cleanliness. On August 17th, 2019 my back a frame and other rear suspension broke due to corrosion and the metal split apart. My under carriage also looks like and old car. My car is washed twice a week even in the winter to remove the salt. This is not covered under any of my warranties. It is going to cost me $5,200. 00 to make this repair. I had two chevy suburbans that I put 295,000 miles on and sold them to friends and they are still driving them with no issues like this. I will never buy a Infiniti again! I noticed this when I was approaching the back of my vehicle after playing hockey. So it must have happened after I parked the car.
When my car is in motion and I go over any bumps it pulls the back end of car my to the side and bounces around so much that I almost don't have control of my car. This will pull so much it take me to the side of the land im currently in I have to make sure I look out for bumps in the road and make sure I slow down below the speed limit so I can keep control of the car. This causes my abs to turn on when going over bumps because the car think im not in control which also cause more issues. This also cause a risk as I have other traffic driving around me, I have children and I am in constant worry that im not going to be able to slow down to keep control especially on a hwy there is no slowing down to 20mph on a hwy. 2nd issue my dashboard light continuous flicker and then go out. Rpm/tack needle has quit working. I have had this repaired several time and still have the same issue.

I have issues with air compressor and timing chain that just randomly went out, I was told there was a recall or campaign for it with Infiniti I called Infiniti and sent it to the dealership they stated it was not for my actual VIN number but for same car with different VIN number, I asked the question since I am having the same issue that has a recall on another VIN same vehicle shouldn't your company fix all of that year vehicles make and model. I was told no.
My 2012 Infiniti Qx56 with hbmc drives very twitchy and feels unsafe to drive. It hadles well on perfectly smooth roads but if there are any imperfections it tries to jump back and forth in the lane. I have had the wheels balanced and alignment performed at the local Nissan dealer but this has not helped the driving characteristics. If I am coming into a corner too fast the back end will skip about as if the rear alignment is out of whack. I am not sure if this has to do with the 22" wheels being too heavy or the drive by wire being calibrated to sensitive or if there is something wrong with the suspension the dealer is not spotting. I feel like I want to trade the car in after only 4 months and 8,000 miles of driving it.
While driving and I go over a bump the car jumps to the side. Also lights on dash stay on for seatbelts, tire pressure.

There wasn't any accidents, but if this problem doesn't get resolved there will be. This is by far the most unsafe vehicle I've ever come across! if you hit any irregular road surface or pothole your car shifts. If you are traveling at high speeds it will actually throw your car into the lane to the right. I've read several forums with the same type of complaints. I don't understand why this is still a problem I'm terrified to drive my kids in this and I'm unfortunately stuck in this vehicle because I'm upside down. This needs addressed immediately what a terrible vehicle I will never buy another!.

Had new tires put on my Infiniti Qx56. . . . After doing so sounds as if rear end is slipping. I have 3 children and am afraid that this could result in an accident. Horn quit working 1 year after I purchased vehicle. This I know is dangerous because there is no horn to blow, in cases where needed. Fan on blower quit working, only works on high. Passenger seat will no longer adjust. Fan and passenger seat quit working approximately at the same time. No one wants to have an accident, but when you hear things like the rear end and front wheels sound as if they might fall off. . . . That is scary.
I have been the owner of this vehicle since June of 2014 and purchased it with 53k miles. The underbody has substantial rust for the age of the vehicle. This rust has seized the alignment bolts in the rear of the vehicle and it cannot be properly aligned without major repairs(in excess of $1500). A vehicle of this age should not have corrosion to the extent that a rear end alignment is not possible. I have two other vehicles substantially older with less underbody corrosion. I believe the coating/parts used are defective and when I contacted infinti they refused to compensate or make the repairs. This is troublesome as the alignment can affect the stability of the vehicle and could result in a accident.

Vehicle feels as though it is jumping side by side on the road while driving over small bumps on the pavement. Requires firm grip on steering wheel to maintain control.
Rear self- leveling suspension system not working, causing the Qx56 to loose control on the highway bumps! (scary drive).
When driving at highway speeds, if I drive over any kind of bump, or groove in the road the back end of the vehicle bounces and sways and I have to grip the steering wheel extra tight and hope that I don't lose control of the car. The same thing happens when I go over bumps at slower speeds but it doesn't sway from side to side, just bounces up and down. I feel extremely unsafe driving this vehicle as I never feel like I am fully in control due to the bouncing/swaying!! we have replaced the shocks and it has not helped.
While traveling at normal highway speeds any road imperfections, pot holes, bridges, or bumps will cause the vehicle to veer to the right and feel as though you are loosing control. Two hands must be used while encountering anything other than a perfect road. It is extremely scary and unsafe when traveling at speeds greater that 50 mph. It feels as though the rear of the vehicle is getting ready to pass the front. This is our family vehicle and I fear for my families safety while driving. The suspension has been checked and has been found to be in working order although it is obvious something is extremely wrong.
I was driving down the road when my brakes started to skip. I stop my vehicle and put the vehicle in park and then put it back in drive then I was able to drive again as normal. It happen three more times after that. It's very dangerous for this kind of issue to occur in travel while driving at any rate of speed. I need this issue looked at by the dealer ship at their expense.
When driving 40-70 mph and hitting any road irregularities (offsets in pavement at bridges, old to new pavement, man hole covers, road patches) the vehicle back end skips sideways with a loss of control. The vehicle will start to head into the next lane and needs to be steered in the opposite direction to correct it. We do not feel safe driving it. Others in the car have said they have never experienced anything like it. Dealership is telling us this is normal. Vehicle is under warranty and we can't get resolution to this.
I own 2010 Qx56. On November 16th I was coming out of parking garage at chicago o'hare airport. After I pass the pay booth, with in 15 feet at the speed of 4 to 5 miles per hour, I lost control of the steering wheel because of some malfunction of the steering wheel assembly. Steering wheel moved 180 degree in one second and hit the pay-booth. Car hit the side pavements of the pay-booth and caused the flat tire, damage the body of the car and steering wheel got locked. All the power-steering fluid got leaked out. I had a fractured thumb because of the rapid movement of the steering wheel. Car was not drivable and ended up towing to the dealership. Dealer replaced the whole steering wheel assembly. This can be a major safety issue. I was just about to go on high-way. If this would have happened on expressway. . I am not sure I would be alive.
Our 2011 Infiniti Qx56 cannot be properly controlled at speed when any rough pavement, pot hole, bridge connection joints, or similar is ran over. The vehicle shakes violently with little if any control by the driver. On numerous occasions the vehicle drifts out of the lane. No accidents have ever occured but at least three near misses on interstate driving have occured. At highway speeds it is scary and quite dangerous.
The contact owns a 2008 Infiniti Qx56. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds when encountered a ditch in the road, the rear of the vehicle swayed and the steering wheel vigorously shook. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where there was no diagnosis or repair completed. The manufacturer was made aware and stated they would send an investigator to inspect the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 100.
The contact owns a 2008 Infiniti Qx56. While driving 40 mph and above, the vehicle shakes and the steering wheel shimmies when it crosses over abnormalities in the road. The vehicle has been taken to a dealer approximately five times, but with no resolution. The VIN was unknown. The current mileage was 14,000 and failure mileage was 80.
Driver side front suspension spring completely broken and colapsed leaving the car only supported by the driver absorber shock. The left front end is leaning 2 inches lower than usual. I assume this a hazard and could cause a vehicle to loose control and accidents.
