Equipment problem #1

On August 10, 2026, my 2024 Infiniti Qx60 unexpectedly locked while the intelligent key was still inside the vehicle, trapping my two young children inside on a hot day. The intelligent key was inside my purse on the front passenger seat. The purse also contained my phone, house keys, and another vehicle key fob. There were no large metallic objects in the purse. I was closing the passenger-side rear door when I heard the vehicle lock. My hand may have contacted the exterior rear-door handle/lock sensor while closing the door, but I cannot be certain. I did not intentionally lock the vehicle. Because two young children were trapped inside in hot weather, a friend called 911. Firefighters responded and opened the vehicle. After returning home, we attempted to reproduce the incident, but the vehicle correctly prevented us from locking it with the intelligent key inside. Therefore, I am concerned about a possible intermittent failure of the intelligent key detection/lockout protection system. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by an Infiniti dealer. I have reported the incident to Infiniti consumer affairs and plan to have the vehicle inspected by an authorized Infiniti dealer. There were no warning lights or warning messages before the incident that I am aware of. The vehicle is available for inspection. This incident created a serious safety risk because two young children were trapped inside a locked vehicle in hot weather and emergency intervention by the fire department was required.

Equipment problem #2

Dealer replaced my driver side mirror assembly a few months ago to get rid of the wind whistling noise, but we noted the "new" mirror would vibrate even at a fairly low speed. So took it back to dealer during the 15k mile service. The tech said the mirror had too much play so the dealer ended up replacing the whole mirror assembly. But the newly replaced assembly was also vibrating. Dealer said that there is not much they can do and asked us to call infinity customer service. Customer service said that that vibration is considering within engineering spec and they are not willing to do anything about it. The vibration is very annoying - the shaking mirror is just a distraction.

Equipment problem #3

Front portion of panoramic sunroof exploded while driving on the highway. No known debris hit the sunroof and there were no cars near me, and I was in open air (not under an overpass).

Equipment problem #4

The liftgate is not merely a matter of inconvenience. Its repeated failure directly interferes with my ability to enter, exit, and safely use the vehicle. I am concerned that the liftgate could also fail during an emergency or close, latch, or operate unpredictably. Right after we first bought the vehicle, we brought it in due to the hatch not opening, approx. Aug. 2024. They said to shove a screwdriver into the hatch to get it working again. It's also listed in their vehicle booklet that is given to you when you buy the SUV. That doesn't mean there is a recall but it's pretty darn close. They want me to wiggle into the back of the vehicle and jam a screwdriver into who knows where. I would love to see them do this without upper body strength and non-working legs. The vehicle has also experienced additional problems, including malfunctioning alarms, electrical issues, and other recurring defects. I have something called vehicle assist, it doesn't work. Alarms are supposed to go off if you leave your lane and pull you back into your original lane. No, you drift accross three lanes. Some problems have returned after attempted repairs. The vehicle has reportedly been presented for repair approximately three times and has been unavailable or out of service for an extraordinary amount of time, approximately 300 plus days in total. Today my caretaker was to take me to a va and to the pharmacy to get my meds.
