The contact stated the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended. The vehicle was drifted to the shoulder of the road where the engine seized. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was started; however, the vehicle failed to start as intended. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with alternator failure. The contact was informed that the alternator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

The contact drove the vehicle to a nearby parking lot and parked the vehicle. The vehicle was turned off and restarted; however, the gear shifter failed to shift into drive or reverse. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the contact was informed that the installed alternator was not oem and not sufficient for retaining power to run the vehicle.
