I am reporting a serious safety concern with my 2016 Infiniti Qx60 involving a defective cooling fan system. The vehicle currently experiences a ticking/tapping noise from the cooling fan, and the fan does not operate properly, which has caused the engine to overheat. This condition creates a significant safety hazard, as engine overheating can lead to sudden engine failure while driving, increasing the risk of an accident. The issue also makes it unsafe to use essential features such as the air conditioner in hot weather and the defroster in cold conditions, which impacts visibility and driver safety. This defect appears to be part of a known issue affecting this vehicle platform, where the cooling fan system fails prematurely. I understand there have been allegations, including in anderson v. Nissan north America, that the manufacturer may have been aware of this defect but did not adequately disclose it. In addition, I am aware that this vehicle model has been associated with other safety-related recalls, including issues involving the abs actuator (which may pose a fire risk) and the hybrid powertrain control system (if applicable). These existing concerns further highlight the urgency of addressing this defect. This is not normal wear and tear, but a potential safety-related defect that places drivers, passengers, and others on the road at risk. I am concerned about continuing to operate this vehicle and potentially causing an accident or injury due to overheating or loss of vehicle function. I am requesting that this issue be formally investigated to determine whether a recall or corrective action is necessary to prevent harm.

After going through a touchless car wash with undercarriage spray and clean, the vehicle stalled 5-10 minutes later. This occurred after the wash was completed and driving away. Suddenly the engine began to lose power, stumbled, and then died while driving. If I had to guess this was a sensor or some electrical component that may have been affected by the water spray from underneath. There were no check engine or other warning lights when this occurred. Attempted to restart the engine. After a few seconds longer than normal it started and appeared to run fine. Drove it home afterward. If the water caused the issue there are serious implications for driving in rain, through puddles, or snow as that water can migrate up into the engine compartment during driving (would be especially dangerous at highway speeds). If it makes any difference, the vehicle did idle fine for a few minutes after leaving and stopping outside the touchless car wash. Only after a walkaround, removing trash from the vehicle, and then driving away did the stall occur.

On February 27th, 2026, around 2:00 pm, while driving my 2024 infinity Qx60 on hwy. 459 in birmingham, al, at approximately 70 mph in heavy traffic, the engine suddenly shut down completely and shifted into neutral without any prior warning lights, noises, or symptoms. I had great difficulty figuring out what had happened, and struggled to avoid being hit while crossing over three lanes to coast to the shoulder. I attempted to put the car back into drive without success and was absolutely terrified as I barely missed being hit by an 18-wheeler traveling behind me at a high rate of speed. The car was shuddering, but I managed to drive a short distance to the birmingham Nissan dealer. After an inspection, they stated it was due to an improperly installed air filter that interfered with the maf, and I was told I had to pay $1,000 for repairs. The forward collision warning sensor went out after the maf was repaired, but the car was released to us. We had to take it right back to the dealer and leave it again.
I had just gotten a safety inspection 15 days prior to this event to renew my registration. The car had been driving perfectly. Me and my wife had drove to my daughter’s school to pick her up. The school is about 10 minutes away from our home. Once we left the school we got about 3 minutes down the road and started smelling a strong electrical/plastic burning smell. Suddenly the car stalled and shut off. Then it cranked back up. Then it shut off. It did that several times. Smoke started pouring out from under the hood. I was barely able to get the car off the road and into a parking lot before it completely died and stopped cranking and stalling. I immediately got my family out of the car and had them run to safety. There was several other family’s with their children who had also just been picked up all around us. So I ran to car and popped the hood. There was so much electrical smoke coming out from driver side area. It appeared to be coming from the hybrid high voltage system under the ecm. I quickly disconnected the negative terminal on the 12v battery to shut down the electrical systems on the car. I have called Infiniti and I am dropping car off tomorrow to have a full inspection done to find out what happened. I am reaching out to you because I know that there is documented reports of this exact thing happening to other cars and that there was a recall r21b4 that they did a software update for. I believe that that update did not work to prevent this catastrophic event from happening. I don’t know if they will try to act like this was not related to the recall so I am trying to cover all my bases here by filing this complaint with y’all as well. I also have an open claim with Infiniti corporate. They are trying to just say that I no longer have a warranty for my car but this is a safety concern not just a warranty issue. I will be taking my car to Infiniti clear lake in houston texas tomorrow for them to look at it.

1. Airbags and seatbelt lights: the vehicle airbags light and seatbelt lights keeps flashing and after taking it to the dealer, they keep suggesting buying a new passenger seat assembly coasting thousands of dollars. Many similar complaints online with no resolutions or temporary solutions by the dealers. 2. Cvt transmission problem: vehicle jerking, and hesitating when driving. Vehicle also struggling to find the right amount of power. Dealer installed new transmission for free under extended manufacturer warranty. Problem is still there and has gotten worse. Struggling to accelerate or even lose power. Vehicle not in a drivable state with significant safety issue. Dealer insists there is nothing wrong after 3 subsequent visits after the first transmission installation. Vehicle pretty much totaled due to main component failure.

Hello, when I originally leased this vehicle I had electrical issues with the radio and also an intermittent rotten egg smell. I have brought my car in for this they said they fixed the radio issue but didn’t smell the smell we were smelling in it. As soon as I got it back the same stuff was happening again. I had brought it back in for service and they said they couldn’t find anything from with it. In October I was at a shopping center and and my car wouldn’t start. I had called they told me service was closing I would need to call for a tow truck I walked home because I needed to get to my son’s football game and picked up the other set of keys walked back and the vehicle started. I know it’s not the keys because the vehicle wouldn’t start with the phone app. Since that day 3 other times the vehicle wouldn’t start but eventually did within a few minutes. Last night as I was leaving the hospital visiting my mom my car wouldn’t open. I tried a few times and then used the app and the app was able to unlock the car doors. This is a brand new 2026 vehicle and I’m not getting help from the service department at the dealership. Can you please advise me on what to do?.
While driving, the vehicle often brakes and accelerates without my control. I've reported this issue before. My brakes are fine, according to the vehicle status.
As the vehicles drive it will intermittently lose power. This is continuous problem ever since 2 weeks after I purchased the vehicle. The power loss can last for 1 sec or most recently up to about 3 to 4 secs. The other day I had to pull over after the vehicle lost power and wait two minutes before starting back on the drive. When it loses power, the power steering goes out and if approaching a turn and/or a decent curve in the road, that can be very hazardous. I believe this is a huge safety concern and many people have experienced the same malfunctions.

The fuel sensors on the car is not recognizing I have gas in my car, the battery and engine like come on while driving , then the whole system shuts off will the car is still driving.
The contact owns a 2024 Infiniti Qx60. The contact stated that while driving at 35 mph, the vehicle experienced electronic malfunctions with unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed, and it was determined that the dipstick was not properly in place. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that on another occasion, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the system malfunction message was displayed. The vehicle was towed to the same local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but another failure occurred. The contact stated that the smoke alarm had alerted her to an issue. While the vehicle was parked in the garage and unattended, the engine overheated. The fire department was called to the scene and detected smoke coming from the engine. The internal temperature of the vehicle was 168 degrees. The vehicle was towed to the same local dealer, who determined that the vehicle had overheated, and the vehicle should be picked up. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.
I've had multiple instances of electrical "shorts" with the vehicle resulting in the sonar system setting off warnings while driving on the highway and having to be replaced twice; the driver mirror shorted and had to be replaced; for a period of months, I would put my belongings in the passenger seat of my vehicle and by the time I got to the driver side of the vehicle, it would lock on me, or I would put it in the back seat, and by the time I exited the driver's side door, the back left door would lock on me (fortunately it was just a work bag and not a child) because the left door lock shorted; and various components of the trunk have shorted on multiple occasions causing the trunk to open a few inches and then snap shut. I have videos of the foregoing in addition to the attached documentation.

About a year ago, I was driving about 80 mph and the dash lights and radio just died, then within seconds everything came back on. It only happened that one time. The other day, I was on a busy highway headed home when my battery light came on. I just replaced both the alternator and battery less than a year ago. I started inching over to the left land (just in case) when the car just died and I had to coast to a stop in the middle of the highway with my 3 kids!!! the police came and I was able to start the car and pull it on the shoulder, then a tow truck came and dropped it off at Infiniti. They had my car for 2 days and couldn't find anything and they told me to come and pick it up. Within 30 minutes of me picking it up, it did the same thing so I took it right back to Infiniti and dropped it off. Today, they called me and it was finally doing what I said it was doing. Battery light, electrical cuts off and car just dies.

Very heavy vibration. Entire vehicle shaking. I thought it was the motor mounts. Very intermitent. Kicks in at 2,000 rpm. I went to dealership and found out the problem is active noise reduction has a problem with a defect on amplifier. Dealer couldn't fix the problem so they shut off the active noise cancellation function for now.

Check engine light came on, poor idling and start up. Infiniti replaced pvc hose that was cracked, electical seat warmer issue was fixed, dvd electrical issue was denied under the claim warranty, and some sensors were replaced due to codes of lean fuel, and the technician noticed a ticking noise. The dealership told us to pick the car up, drive it and put more miles on it and bring it back in to file another claim for the ticking sound. Returned to file new claim and was told the engine needed to be replaced or timing chain should be replaced due to sludge in the engine even with proper maintenance [records submitted to dealership for warranty claim which was denied]. Passanger seat warmer had also gone out since our last visit, so they're fixing that electrical issue as well. [we were denied for driver side electical window repairs, as they said components were "only loose"]. We purchased the elite protection plan that should have covered all issues but they are denying the claim. Main concern is the engine as there are multiple forums and social media groups that are complaining of the engine sludge issue on new or certified Infiniti or Nissan vehicles with the same engines. Most owners are providing service/maintenance records and still being denied engine repair or replacement under warranty. These engines need to be recalled and consumers need to be compensated for their time and repairs.
The car intermittently will not accelerate after being idle at stop signs etc. This has occurred on 3-5 instances in the last 4 months. All but one time when getting the vehicle later it didn't have any issues. The battery has been tested and is good, I cleaned the terminals and still had it occur. Upon reading an Infiniti forum it sounds like it is an intermittent alternator issue or electric module. This put my daughter in a stalled vehicle in an intersection several times after trying to troubleshoot issues to resolve it.
The electric controlled coupling failed and as a result, the awd failed. There is vibration when turning and driving 25 mph. The grinding noise remained after I got new brakes and I was told it’s from the coupling trying to power the awd. I took my 2016 Qx60 to the dealer and also to a foreign car auto shop and they both confirmed it needs to be replaced. When the coupling is unplugged, the noise is not present.
Most issues began around the 6th month of the first year of ownership and have persisted. Current mileage is ~31,500. Safety-related defects: 1. Washer system leak/empty reservoir: washer fluid repeatedly drains/ends up empty, preventing windshield cleaning while driving and reducing visibility. Began after a dealer visit on 06/03–06/04/2025 for panoramic sunroof noise (“concern began after prior dealer visit on 06/03–06/04/2025”). 2. Rear driver-side window intermittently lowers by itself (electrical), creating distraction and a safety/security risk. 3. Side mirror intermittently fails to unfold/open, reducing rear/side visibility. 4. Water intrusion into cabin from top of front passenger door area during rain/car washes, causing staining/odor and raising concern for electrical components/safe operation. 5. Panoramic sunroof creaking noise when closed (driver distraction); prior service attempt (~2 days) did not resolve. 6. Adas concerns: automatic emergency braking and parking collision warning intermittently fail to activate / provide alerts when expected, creating driver distraction and uncertainty about proper system operation. No crash or injury has occurred. Please document these issues and evaluate for a potential defect trend/recall if similar complaints exist.
I am submitting this to supplement NHTSA complaint no. 11704996 regarding a 2024 Infiniti Qx60. Current mileage approx. 31,500. No injuries. Crash/incident (property damage only): within the first 2 months of ownership, while backing into a parking space at a grocery store parking lot, the parking collision warning did not alert and automatic emergency braking did not activate. I struck a shopping cart I did not see, causing minor damage/dent to the liftgate (no injuries). Additional adas safety concern (near-miss / repeated events): during the first year of ownership, on at least two occasions while using intelligent cruise control / driver assist (steering assist) on a highway, when the vehicle ahead braked, my vehicle did not slow down or brake as expected and continued approaching at the prior speed. I had to brake immediately and steer to avoid a collision. No crash or injuries occurred. Similar instances have occurred additional times; however, I was monitoring the system and manually braked in time when it did not slow/stop from a safe following distance. I am concerned about intermittent non-response of these driver-assist braking functions. Ongoing safety-related issues since about the 6th month of the first year: 1) windshield washer system leak/empty reservoir (reduced visibility). Concern began after prior dealer visit on 06/03–06/04/2025 for panoramic sunroof noise. 2) rear driver-side window intermittently lowers by itself (electrical). 3) side mirror intermittently fails to unfold/open (visibility). 4) water intrusion into cabin from top of front passenger door area during rain/car washes (photos available), raising concern for electrical/safe operation. 5) panoramic sunroof creaking noise (distraction). Request NHTSA document and evaluate for potential defect trend.
The left rear side window rolled down and won’t roll back up and made clicking sound causing both safety issue driving my kids in a stormy day. I tried to open the door and it opens only 10 percent . I had to go from the other door to get my kid out the car. I owned the car 4 years now and I’m the only owner . I took it to the dealer and they opened the door replaced the window regulator and motor. This a faulty make from manufacture that I end up paying for about $1200 . They refused to cover for it because warranty expired in January 2024 but I only have 51000 miles on it. I had similar car window not rolling back on driver side 2 years ago and they said it was a recall.

Abs lit stayed lit and awd error lit also on.
This vehicle has been to the dealership five times for the car alarm will randomly go off. This issue is hard to replicate. In the final time that I took it to the dealer, I had a rental car and what we found is that when the car is parked and it’s locked and you pull in next to it. The car alarm will go off the car was never touched. It just goes off. Does it go off in that situation every single time no. So it’s at the point where if the alarm goes off, it doesn’t mean anything to me. There is no concern. It’s like the boy who cried wolf this car just the alarm will just go off anytime it’s locked and in a parking lot or just sitting by itself I have asked infinity corporate to get involved and they said that they have done everything to help and they are unable to fix the problem.

I have brought my Infiniti Qx60 in twice related to sterp & bluetooth for hands free phone calls. They first did a firmware upgrade. I have had intermittent problems and reported to them. I actually had same model as a loaner they gave me and radio and bluetooth phone connection would not work. I drove to the dealership and showed them. They have put the blame on my new samsung phone as causing these issues. Asked to explain and they couldn't. They would not change out control boards so get radio and hands free phone calls as I drive many miles a month.
My 2023 Infiniti Qx60 autograph model caught fire in the engine in my driveway while parked on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at approximately 6:00 pm est. Fire department was dispatched and fire marshal completed a report. There were no warnings or indications prior to the fire. My vehicle had been parked in my driveway since approximately 12:40 pm est the same day.
A mechanic says it is pcm failure. I have owned the car for 18 months. Shortly after buying it, it started doing this thing where it loses power for just a second or two. Cruise control and proximity sensors kick off, steering wheel locks and/or power steering turns off, all interior components turn off. Usually everything comes right back on, and I can reset the cruise control. Lately it has been more frequent, and things don't go back to normal. It sometimes causes the vehicle to stall and not start as well. Today even once things are back "on", I can't control the ac fan, radio volume, etc. Bluetooth shows connected to the car on my phone but isn't playing through the vehicle speakers. I don't undersrand how this could not be a recall when it poses a major safety risk to suddenly lose power and be unable to steer the vehicle! this has been happening since Feb 2024, so I'll just put the original date. Sometimes it happens 15 times in a day and the vehicle is more or less not drivable. Other times I'll go a month or so with no glitches.
I was driving to work and then the vehicle stopped working once I reached a red light. It would not start and had a burning smell with smoke coming out. I had to call the police which they deemed undrivable and not safe. The car said battery but upon inspection it was a starter and possible belt problem. I've only had this car for less than three months and did an initial inspection where everything was deemed good. Now the car has not shown any problems and had an oil change for basic militance. I had no indications what so ever. It is currently being inspected by the dealer but I have heard back. I do know however, the towing company had tried to turn it back on and it was unsuccessful in both attempts. They had to forcefully tow the car which left tire marks.
• intake air temperature: high input circuit •it's in a mechanic shop. To change automic transmission. •unknown •yes, at the mechanic shop it is at. •yes, mechanic shop. •approximately the last days of January the car started feeling "bumpy" when driving. And it was also slow.
There is an electrical burning smell when the heat is turned on.
My vehicle shut down while driving, my safety, the safety of others was very much at risk as the vehicle shut down with no warnings while driving at a very busy time and roads, cars where honking at me, I have not taken the vehicle to the dealer ship as they were just going to run a diagnosis and charge almost $300 dollars for that however I took my vehicle to auto zone they checked it briefly for me and found no error codes but this shut down has now happened twice while driving is very scary. The warning lamp that pop while vehicle shut down was Feb warning light along with the battery light.

The alternator went bad and this was not picked up on multiple diagnosis inspections and therefore this caused continuous safety risks as they kept replacing parts that didn’t need to be fixed due to incorrect diagnosis codes being thrown. My vehicle stalled in the middle of the highway after multiple fixes/inspections due to this issue and the alternator shouldn’t even be going bad.
My vehilce only has 31000 miles on it and the cooling fan went out, was not due to anything that I did driving wise. When I called Infiniti warranty divison in franklin tennessee they said they are aware of the complaints by other customers they said they issued a technical bullentin itb17-048 but said there was no reason for a recall but they deemed it necassry to make a design change which fixed this problem and also required a module change also. They said they are not responsible for the problem, but if that is true then why did they make the design change. So any owners with old design will have an issue and will have to replace the unit. So I am glad that I was not on the road driving and would have been stuck in the heat trying to get the car repaired. There was no warnings about the issues and even though they may the dealers aware of the issue no notice was sent owners. Please review the number of complaints that were made online about this issue. Feel like they just took advantage of me because this was not a problem I created but was due to poor design. Also the cooling fans are no longer made of metal but of plastic, what is life expectancy of this part.
There are multiple issues with the aforementioned vehicle and I have brought it to the dealership multiple times, but they stated that although Infiniti is aware of the issues they do not have a fix. When it rains out the locking mechanism fails on the vehicle and I am locked out of the vehicle. In addition to that, on multiple occasions, I place the car in park when I come to a stop and the vehicle does not stay in park. It goes back into drive. There is an overheating issue with the wireless charging pad. The charging pad is not charging the cell phone, but it is producing heat to the degree that it causes the iphone to overheat and shut down . The bluetooth system is a complete failure. During the middle of a drive when you are utilizing the navigation system the system completely shuts down. It is inoperable. This happens with apple carplay specifically and it renders the system completely useless. This is a serious safety issue.
When getting vehicle out of spot and turning wheel to left rear vehicle vibrating/binding. Dealer informed rear coupler needed to changed. I found there is already recall for this issue for same model but some reason my VIN does not qualify.
•charging pad does not charge. •despite not charging, the pad overheats all phones. •usb port overheats phones •door handles to do not disengage locks when it rains and you are locked out of the car •bluetooth does not work on any phone, it stops working daily. •map functions stops working daily. •apple car play stops working daily. I cannot upload the video that shows the issue with the maps/bluetooth.
The main screen blanked out completely heads up display cruise and adaptive and blind spot indicators all ceases to function air conditioner has lost function twice since I got the vehicle leak in rear pipes rear hatch intermittently doesn’t close properly thus an alarm stays on driver side mirror won’t fold out after retraction rear wiper goes off for not reason lane departure is unreliable infotainment system needs to be rebooted often.
Car stops when turning a corner. When turning it back on, it moves slow and it might have power to move but then it goes slow. The battery will drain quickly and the it stops all together. It's like the engine just goes out.
