36 Electrical System problem of the 2023 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 02/08/2023

I purchased a new 2023 infinity Qx60 in Nov. Of 2022. I had the vehicle for less than 2 months when the dashboard lit up with a shifter warning/malfunction while driving my kids to school on 2-8-23. I pulled over and stopped the vehicle to see what was going on. A shifter malfunction warning displayed. I was able to put the car in park but unable to put the shifter back in drive. After numerous tries, the vehicle shifted into drive after restarting the car. Was able to drive the vehicle straight to my local infinity dealership. I arrived prior to 7:30am and was promptly assisted. The car received a malfunction code and was shuttled home by the dealership while further diagnostics occurred. The dealership called to let me know the shifter malfunctioned and it wasn’t covered under the manufacturer warranty due to visible coffee residue. The car wasn’t safe to drive so I had no choice but to pay for the repair. The dealership had the shuttle service pick me up at my house and bring me back to the dealership in order to put me in a loaner vehicle while servicing. I was required to pay for the part so it could be ordered. The total cost was $748. 80 for the part “new shifter”/labor. The shifter was on the desk but I was told the coffee residue was cleaned off of it. I picked my car back up on 2/13. I had a major incident that occurred on the vehicle on 2/15 that I just submitted for review. The car had a safety malfunction sensing a head on collision that forcefully stopped the car while I was driving around 40-50 mph.

37 Electrical System problem of the 2022 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 02/06/2023

With less than 2000 miles, the dash has blacked out while driving and that seems to have cleared finally. Now the hatch back will randomly open when walking near the back of the vehicle. Sometimes when the hatch is open, it will close while putting groceries in the back. It has been in to Infiniti for this and battery was replaced because they said it was bad. After a couple of days, hatch is acting up again like it has its own mind. Fortunately, it has not open while driving but warning light will come on saying it is not secure. Stop and reclose, repeat. Ugh. Infiniti is picking up tomorrow to have another look at the system. Hopefully they can repair because we love our vehicle otherwise.

The car has shut off twice while (once on the highway) and once on a side street. Lost power and locked up. Prior to the shut offs power flickered. No problem identified with Infiniti but appears so be a known issue amongst the Infiniti community. Are these cars safe??????.

41 Electrical System problem of the 2022 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 11/11/2022

The vehicle does start after being parked overnight. This has happened on over 15+ occasions and counting. Once jump started, warning lights appear on the dash display. Already brought it in for service 2x, battery changed 1x and the battery change solution is not working. The problem is still repeating. Vehicle is being driven sufficiently daily to charge the battery, therefore this should not be happening on a new vehicle. I noticed there has been another complaint.

42 Electrical System problem of the 2018 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 10/31/2022

The windshield wipers quick working while in a rainstorm, more than once. They will stall out and then start again with up to a minute in between. The vehicle can be inspected before repairs. The safety of everyone in and outside the vehicle is compromised significantly, with visibility while driving on all roads and freeways. The vehicle is going into the dealer and there is a current recall affecting this vehicle. Just not my VIN. No other inspections at this time. No warning signals of any kind. I am completely scared to drive it as it rains here often. The closest dealer is an hour away and I will have to drive it there. It has happened multiple times.

45 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 08/26/2022

The brakes will go to the floor on its own and won’t stop and almost rear ended vehicles or ran lights due to not being able to stop. The brake issue has been reproduced and noted on service records. I am a 100% disabled veteran that requires a mobility scooter for mobility and appointments. The other issue is the vehicle will loose power anywhere and anytime and has to be towed in by aaa to the Infiniti dealership every time and they say the issue cannot be reproduced and I have gone thru their complaint system and they are in the process of sending technicians to finally look at the vehicle. I am afraid if this car because the last time it happened it almost killed me because it just lost power and brakes on an oklahoma interstate at around 70mph and had to coast to the right side service area to wait for aaa was almost rear ended twice in the process of getting to a safe area. My family and I are in danger anytime we drive this vehicle and have an extended Infiniti elite warranty thru manufacture. The vehicle in question is a 2015 Infiniti Qx60 and was purchased in 10/16/2019 with 24555 miles on it and have had problems with car since day one. Please please help we do not want to die. We have all recorded messages where Infiniti makes excuse after excuse after excuse to do anything about our safety.

46 Electrical System problem of the 2019 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 08/08/2022

Feb (sensors) display on our Infiniti qx 60 dashboard - this occurred within several months when we received the car. The car was inspected by their Infiniti repair dealer and was told the problem was solved. It was not and the same issue appeared after several miles of driving. Reported to consumer affairs at Infiniti and was informed its an Infiniti dealer issue. Further electronic defects occurred as I was not able to change gear from park to drive. Infiniti towed the car to their dealer and purportedly they corrected. The same issue continued and placed several more calls to Infiniti consumer affairs. Was told "we are sorry but we cant help you". Eventually brought this issue up to the highest level at Infiniti to jeremie. Papin@Nissan-USA. Com - head of Nissan north America. No action yet again - and was called by an assistant and thanked me for bringing it to his attention. Informed Infiniti via email to mr. Papin that it can be catastrphic at front sensors are defective and do not function. I have video's and written correspondence to Infiniti. I am available for a zoom call or can be contacted at (347) 407-2977. Respectfully yours, oleg shtaynberger brooklyn, NY.

47 Electrical System problem of the 2018 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 08/02/2022

To whom this may concern. My vehicle middle console is completely out. My radio no longer powers on. The a/c runs continuously however I’m unable to control any functions including my defrosts. Therefore as the weather is getting colder I’m not able to activate the defrost so my front window fogs up clearing my view I’m able to utilize my wipers wisely. Last for not least my abs air bag light comes on and then continues to flash throughout my commutes. I’m not understanding why am I being told that I’ll be the one responsible for the bill. . This situation was and clearly is nothing to do with my actions.

48 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 07/01/2022

The vehicle constantly shudders and almost stalls when in reverse or in low gear. The vehicle seems to not switch properly between the hybrid battery to the engine or vice-versa. The vehicle has a recall from October 2021 and Infiniti has not fixed the recall yet. I feel the vehicle is unsafe. I have emailed and contacted Infiniti to no avail. Infiniti has not remedied this recall in any fashion in almost a year.

49 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 06/16/2022

Components :latches/lock vehicle: 2017 Infiniti Qx60 date of incident: 6/16/2022/ mileage 80,000 safety concern: in the event of a crash or fire, a jammed door could delay response time and cause severe injury or death. I was placing my grandchild in the rear passenger seating area when I closed the door, drove to the local market and was unable to open the door from the inside of the cabin or from the outside. I tried several times to use the unlock button and the door still did not open. No dashboard warnings came on before or after the failure. I took the vehicle to the dealership, they were also unable to open the door after several attempts and was told by the mechanic that the door actuator was defective and to fix the problem would cause severe damage to in the inside of the door. I then contacted the manufacturer and was told they have not heard of this issue and no active recalls are listed for my concern.

50 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 03/16/2022

I took it in for recall r21b4 to be reprogrammed and problem fixed. The problem still persist as I’m driving the vehicle loses all driving power which is dangerous while it has happened to me while driving on the express way. Infiniti is telling me I need to bring it back in to have my vehicle checked out and wants to charge me 186$ when the recall clearly states that the problem is the recall.

51 Electrical System problem of the 2022 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 02/28/2022

The car does not start once it is parked, ignition is turned off and car is locked. The car requires a jump in order for it to start. Once it is jumped, the car has malfunction alerts, the battery light is lit in the vehicle and some features of the car do not work (I. E. Lane assist, auto feature light is flashing, but when pressed nothing happens). My safety has been put at risk because the car could possibly shut off while I am driving, I could be stranded somewhere with my two young sons due to the car not starting. Once the car is shut off and locked, it does not restart. Luckily I have aaa and I have been able to get jumps 4 separate times over the past 2 weeks, but some are not that fortunate. I picked up the vehicle on February 14, 2022, so this should not be happening. I leased the vehicle from kings Infiniti and have taken the car to them to get serviced every single time. The 1st time, the battery was changed because they thought that was the issue. The 2nd time, the telematics control unit was changed because they believed that was issue. The 3rd time, the battery was changed because they discovered the connection to the negative terminal in the battery would pop out causing the battery to discharge and the car would not start. Today, was the 4th time I took to vehicle in to kings Infiniti and they kept it because they want to determine what is wrong. Also, when I brought my car in this morning, there was another person with the same 2022 Qx60 experiencing the same problems as me and he purchased his car on Monday. Since I now know this problem is not solely my car, I want to inform you so Infiniti can be made aware of this major issue. No one should require a jump to start a brand new car. Something is happening once the car is turned off, locked and then attempted to re-start. In addition, when this happens, you need to press the "open door" button on the key to open the car because you are unable to open the door by simply touching the handle.

52 Electrical System problem of the 2019 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 12/17/2021

While driving home from work on the expressway, the Feb indicator came on even though there was no one in front of me for at least 1/4 mile. Then the bci indicator came on when there was no vehicle behind me. The braking system started to engage for no apparent reason. I previously owned a 2017 Qx60 and experienced the same issues. Infiniti could not correct the issue and I was granted a new vehicle under the lemon law. Unfortunately, my current Qx60 has too many miles to consider for the lemon law again.

53 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 09/20/2021

I bought a 2014 Infiniti Qx60 and after one week, my vehicle started to jerk after resuming from a stop sign or stop light but was just annoying at first. Later that day, the check engine light came on and I took it to auto zone to get the code which displayed "p1715 - input pulley speed signal" and secondary dtcs were p0776 (pressure solenoid b performance/stuck off. When I am driving, I cannot make it a mile without having my rpms skyrocket and my vehicle become inoperable and makes me turn my flashers on and find a place to pull over, shut off my vehicle, and restart it. This repeats over and over and over if I continue to get to the grocery store for essential needs but it is not safe to drive and will for sure cause a collision if it keeps happening. There are so many issues with this make/model and needs to be addressed for the safety of others on the road and myself/children as it is unexpected and very scary.

54 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 09/01/2021

Shuddering, shaking & skipping while driving. It’s a nightmare. The car (qx60- 2015) can’t go over 20 miles without “jumping” on me. I am fearing for my safety. It’s only a bulletin by Infiniti and not a recall. This is unacceptable.

55 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 08/30/2021

When breaking the pedal starts to bounce and make a super loud noise like if the rear tire is flat. It does it sporadically at low speed breaking making it hard to stop the car. I have taken it ti the dealer numerous time and the Infiniti special mechanic cant find the issue. Also, when driving on the highway the slippery sensor turns on slowing down the car suddenly almost causing an accident. The awd overheating sensor turns on as well all the time as well as the one for mismatch tires. This has been happening for almost 2 years.

56 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 05/06/2021

I bought my Qx60 2017 in April of 2021. Fine til wk 2 experienced electrical issues liftgate stops going up or down randomly, hesitation in the acceleration when pulling into traffic (quite scary when you almost get rammed). Concerns told to dealership stated I needed to change key fob battery. I already had and it was fine. They insisted I cchangeit so I did. . Not the issue. So I made an appt to have concerns checked. . Ie transmission hesitation and electrical . I brought it in got a loaner. Many days later it was ready and I could pick it up they could find no issues they fixed nothing but the groan in the gas tank that's it. They said they couldn't duplicate it. So I reiterated to them to make sure that they understood that it was done at random and it's still being done at random months later. So I brought the car home and I've just been dealing with it not knowing what else to do cuz if they don't take the car and actually drive it like it's their own they probably won't experience it just driving around the parking lot. And even though they had it a week and could have done that I guess they didn't. Well then back in the end of August beginning of September my car wouldn't start I had to put the key fob next to the button in order to start it which I didn't figure out till later lots of electrical things were happening at that point added to what I already had so I brought it to them and they said it was the battery it was under warranty so they changed and explain that that should take care of all of my issues and if not bring it back in. So I've made another appointment for today and I'm bringing it back in because the hesitation is still there there's more electrical issues there's always been a bluetooth electrical issue there's now rear camera, volume sometimes work sometimes blows your ears out, vibration in engine compartment, unlock door open door it sounds unlocking again repeatedly repeatedly and liftgate still.

57 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 04/07/2021

Electrical coupling faulty and cause the car to shudder and jerk. I took it to priority infinity greenbrier it is a know issue. These coupling should last on these vehicles. Component has not been inspected by manufacture. No warning notice at all.

58 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Infiniti QX60

The car shutters when in motion and making a turn and occasionally when in reverse. I believe this is a known issue ref itb12-072d.

59 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 12/10/2020

Transmission issue ,break issue,electrical issue.

60 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 06/26/2020

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the rear awd electronic coupler is failing. It is available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? if it completely fails, the car can become inoperable while driving at any time. I was also told by the dealer that the differential could damage the transmission over time. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes, the dealer had diagnosed this issue. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no warning or messages. There is grinding when turning at low speeds and when driving sometimes there is a "bump" at around 40 mph. This was first diagnosed by the dealer in 2020 and again in 2022. There was a recall of the rear electronic coupler for the same year, make and model but, Infiniti says that it did not apply to my VIN. The TSB is 12-072c. My research of this issue shows that this issue common for my make, model and year. Clearly, this issue affects many more vins than, originally recalled. The recall for this issue should be expanded to include my vehicle and extended so that this very expensive repair can be made without cost to me. I purchased this car because, I wanted a safe and reliable car to transport my small children. These critical issues jeopardize the health and safety of my family every day. My car is no longer safe or reliable. Additional, in 2020, at the time that the electronic coupler failure was diagnosed, something related to the cvt was replaced because of a recall. This year, I had to have the the transmission replaced. I now wonder if that could have been related to the cvt issue. My catalytic converters also had to be replaced this year.

61 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 06/01/2020

The back hatch door does not always open when either using the car faub, button in the interior or manually on the hatch itself. It will partially open and then it will beep and try and close on its own, making it difficult to either put something in or take out of the back of car without it closing on your head because the sensor does not alert that I am there. Then to close the hatch I have to force it down because the close button on the hatch will not work. . . It's been very frustrating because it's been happening for months now. Sometimes it opens when prompted however the majority of the times it does not!.

62 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 01/27/2020

My car has had issues from the day I got it which have gotten progressively worse and now I don't feel safe and I'm reluctant to drive it let alone make the payment for it after taking it to the dealer three times explaining the issue and lights that come in. I have had bad smell coming from it and after the third time today being at deale and getting a loaner car that is not even semi comparable to my car as I have an infinity qx 60 and they have given me a tiny tiny q30 or qx and refused to give me a car my size which is another story . My car after getting it tonight from dealer and then telling me recall was fixed stalled on the freeway and came to a drop as the car behind me was inches away from slamming into me. After starting and restarting the engine it drive again and prior to getting home as I live on a hill it stalled and wouldn't start. This happens repeatedly and the dealer is telling me no codes come up when j bring jt in. It barely drives and has no speed and clearly it's a dangerous situation and j have a four and six year old in this car and infinity can't fix these problematic cars then I suggest putting your customers in a different car. I won't drive with a string odor, electrical issues and stalling one more day and figure it out cus I'm losing work and clients and this is now digging into my pocket book and it's putting myself and toddlers in a compromising safety situation. I was informed recall was fixed when I got it today and rhis website wouid have been updated if that was true I'm furious and my mechanic has informed me of what these issues are and he has given me codes thet infinity refuses to address since the lights are not on the one time they turned far in. What kind of mechanics can't figure a safety issue in the engine ? I need resolution and reimbursement for my payment as I am entitled to drive in a safe car.

63 Electrical System problem of the 2018 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 08/29/2019

Electrical systems failed (including abs sensors). Breaks would not function (could not depress breaks). Wife and 6 yo son in car were lucky to not have been killed as car rolled onto busy road. Told by dealer that abs system malfunctioned.

64 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 05/09/2019

Driver assistance pkg and around view monitor with mod does not work anymore after collision repair. The SUV was repaired with genuine Infiniti parts. After the repair was completed, the driver assistance package options and the moving object detection at the front no longer works. It has been at the collision center and Infiniti dealership for over 2 months and they can not figure out the cause of the malfunction. All the Infiniti dealership has done was said the computer does not show an error. I have asked Infiniti to call in an expert engineer if they do not know how to fix it. If it is a faulty system, Infiniti needs to disclose that to the public because I am sure that I am not the only one that has had a front collision in a Qx60. Many people may not even know that this feature does not work on their vehicle any longer. If there is a fix for this problem, then Infiniti should also disclose that instead of trying to get away with not fixing the issues. As we expect the airbag to deploy to keep us safe, we also expect our diver assistance package to work properly as well.

65 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 12/11/2017

I leased a loaded Qx60 from sawgrass Infiniti. One of the features of the car was a 120v plug in the second row with a max 150w rating. This was a key feature for us as our son has a condition that requires a breathing machine to be plugged in so he can receive medication each day while in the car. As it turns out, the voltage on the outlet may be 120v, but the rating is definitely not correct. After a minute of working, the outlet shuts off. And then a few minutes later, it might come back on for a minute or so. I tested the machine and it gets no where near the max wattage rating on a volt meter. I contacted Infiniti multiple times and they said that the vehicle is working as designed (in other words, go away, we don't want to think about fixing all our vehicles with a defect). After owning the car (lease) for 3+ months, nothing has been done and I have to bring my own inverter into the car and plug it into the cigarette lighter outlet so that the machine can work properly without shutting off in the middle of a treatment. Fact is, the 120v plug outlet in the vehicle does not work as was promised to me by the dealer, nor does it meet the specifications advertised by the manufacturer right on the outlet cover. I've been after them ever since I purchased the car to come up with a solution and they have been avoiding the issue and non-responsive as of late. The car obviously has an engineering flaw in its electrical and /or fusing which will not allow this outlet to provide power as described.

66 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 09/01/2017

Tl- the contact owns a 2017 Infiniti Qx60. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle during the daytime the backup camera display was very dim and blurry and while at night time the camera display was too dark to view images on the screen. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer faulkner Infiniti(1510 easton rd willow grove PA. ) who indicated that the back up camera was operating as normal and no problem was found. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 1500. Jft.

67 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 02/12/2017

I was bckng out of a pkng spot between 2 cars and the back up camera showed lots of space. I made sure the right of my vehicle would not hit parked cars I was clear on the left. I backed up a few inches and heard glass break and tapped the beige brick wall. Until impact the sensors did not light up or beep at all. At the point of impact it was frenzy beeping. A witness saw the incident and we walked behind the vehicle to see damage. Because the rear lights and brake lights stick out further than the bumper the lights are damaged. I took it to the dealer the next day, tmo came out to look at my issue. He tested the back up with an employee standing behind the same sensor. It did it's job and started beeping at approx a ft. From the employee who was wearing dark uniform clothes. I was dismissed that they couldn't test the sensor because it was damaged (why would an executive put an employee behind the same "damaged" sensor that worked? I asked tmo ok humor me and back into that beige wall over there - he said to get in,passenger. He proceeded to back into the wall, neither lights nor sensor light up or beeped. I looked at the camera looked like lots of room left. I told him to keep going - see how close you can get. His answer was no, maybe your right it doesn't detect light color objects. Call consumer affairs and tell them. Consumer affairs brandon called today, he said to hold while he called the dealer to get an internal specialist scheduled to check out the sensor with the service dept. Brandon got back on the line and said since it was a collision no way to check the sensors. Well, I have a drivers sensors that wasn't affected test that one. They declined. My own family testing shows the sensors do not detect a beige or white color until the point of impact. I was told not to rely on electrical they are aids only and could fail. Beware of people in beige or white.

68 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 09/24/2014

When taking off from a dead stop sometimes the vehicle pauses and moves very slowly enough to get you in the front of on coming vehicals, and then will not exceed over 10 to 12 mph which takes up to 30 to 45 sec. Or more. I narrowly escaped a simi truck hitting me on the drivers side pulling out of our local post office. On several occasions I have needed to yank the vehicle off the road so as not to get rear ended in traffic. I have taken it to dealership several times, which they said they fixed the issue by replacing something called a break switch, "twice" this however did not correct problem. The national Infiniti group sent a recording device which the dealer installed, this meant that when this event occurred I was supposed to reach down to the console where the device was located and push a button to record event all the while trying to avoid an accident. I successfully did it without incident and recorded the requested 6 events. This problem has been consistently occurring now for 7 months. I purchased this vehicle for my elderly parents with every available safety option for thier safety, and I have not been able to let them drive the car for over 6 months since they took it on a trip. Fearing that they will not be abel to react fast enough to avoid being in an accident or worse getting killed in this vehicle. I have been forced to drive it. Infiniti called today and said the results from data recorder showed no fix needed at this time, so they are clearly ignoring the issue as I have read online other people having the exact issue. Someone or some family is going to have a tragic accident with this problem and I want to go on record that Infiniti corporate are fully aware of the problem and chose to do nothing.

69 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 02/24/2014

After 4 days we bought a new Qx60 2014 the passenger front door does not open from outside or inside a few days after the dealer solved the problem but now after 8 months this happen again. How many times have to repair it?.

70 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 08/13/1960

Because I bought the car used in June of this year, around July, the driver's and passenger's side airbag warning lights on the display panel started flashing, then disappeared after a few days. After August, they kept flashing and then stopped altogether. I took it to an Infiniti dealership for inspection, and the mechanic reported that the airbag sensors were malfunctioning and there was no connection between the airbags and the computer system platform, and that other problems might even be discovered during the repair process. This result seriously affects my driving safety, and I believe it's a quality issue with the car's performance, not a problem caused by driving a used car.
