I am reporting a serious safety concern with my 2016 Infiniti Qx60 involving a defective cooling fan system. The vehicle currently experiences a ticking/tapping noise from the cooling fan, and the fan does not operate properly, which has caused the engine to overheat. This condition creates a significant safety hazard, as engine overheating can lead to sudden engine failure while driving, increasing the risk of an accident. The issue also makes it unsafe to use essential features such as the air conditioner in hot weather and the defroster in cold conditions, which impacts visibility and driver safety. This defect appears to be part of a known issue affecting this vehicle platform, where the cooling fan system fails prematurely. I understand there have been allegations, including in anderson v. Nissan north America, that the manufacturer may have been aware of this defect but did not adequately disclose it. After going through a touchless car wash with undercarriage spray and clean, the vehicle stalled 5-10 minutes later. This occurred after the wash was completed and driving away. Suddenly the engine began to lose power, stumbled, and then died while driving. If I had to guess this was a sensor or some electrical component that may have been affected by the water spray from underneath. There were no check engine or other warning lights when this occurred. Attempted to restart the engine. After a few seconds longer than normal it started and appeared to run fine. Drove it home afterward. If the water caused the issue there are serious implications for driving in rain, through puddles, or snow as that water can migrate up into the engine compartment during driving (would be especially dangerous at highway speeds). On February 27th, 2026, around 2:00 pm, while driving my 2024 infinity Qx60 on hwy. 459 in birmingham, al, at approximately 70 mph in heavy traffic, the engine suddenly shut down completely and shifted into neutral without any prior warning lights, noises, or symptoms. I had great difficulty figuring out what had happened, and struggled to avoid being hit while crossing over three lanes to coast to the shoulder. I attempted to put the car back into drive without success and was absolutely terrified as I barely missed being hit by an 18-wheeler traveling behind me at a high rate of speed. The car was shuddering, but I managed to drive a short distance to the birmingham Nissan dealer. After an inspection, they stated it was due to an improperly installed air filter that interfered with the maf, and I was told I had to pay $1,000 for repairs. The forward collision warning sensor went out after the maf was repaired, but the car was released to us. We had to take it right back to the dealer and leave it again.

Hello, when I originally leased this vehicle I had electrical issues with the radio and also an intermittent rotten egg smell. I have brought my car in for this they said they fixed the radio issue but didn’t smell the smell we were smelling in it. As soon as I got it back the same stuff was happening again. I had brought it back in for service and they said they couldn’t find anything from with it. In October I was at a shopping center and and my car wouldn’t start. I had called they told me service was closing I would need to call for a tow truck I walked home because I needed to get to my son’s football game and picked up the other set of keys walked back and the vehicle started. I know it’s not the keys because the vehicle wouldn’t start with the phone app. Since that day 3 other times the vehicle wouldn’t start but eventually did within a few minutes. Last night as I was leaving the hospital visiting my mom my car wouldn’t open. I tried a few times and then used the app and the app was able to unlock the car doors. This is a brand new 2026 vehicle and I’m not getting help from the service department at the dealership. Can you please advise me on what to do?.

The car died suddenly while driving. The battery is only a few months old. Prior to dying a few warning lamps suddenly came on but there was no prior warning. The engine did not overheat, there was no smoke, or check engine light until the car suddenly died. I have been advised that I need a new engine. Our 2022 Infiniti Qx60 was brought in at Infiniti service center for regular oil change. The car had 29,564 miles. After the service, I was deciding whether to take the highway or the local route. I thought of stopping by the church, so I decided to take the local route. After driving for 4. 2 miles on a road with cars moving at 45 mph, our Qx60 suddenly just stalled. The car cannot be started. Dashboard lights were fading. It was good hazard lights were still blinking. It was a terrifying experience seeing how fast cars & trailer trucks were going behind us. We had to call 911 to have a police car go behind us & avoid oncoming traffic colliding & piling on our car. We called Infiniti roadside assistance to help us get a towing truck to bring the car back to service. The service center said that they will change the fuel injector. Take note that Qx60 has had stalling issues in the past even with earlier models. Please see all the forums & complaints. We had a 2019 Qx60 that just stalled after I made a u-turn on a busy street. Thank god, we are still alive after that incident. Infiniti did not find any issues when it was escalated to them. We escalated the current issue on our 2022 Qx60 to orlando Infiniti dealership & wanted to talk to the manager. Instead of a manager, we were directed to an Infiniti salesman who related his own story of having the same exact experience with his Qx60 while he was driving on a 70-mph highway. He was hard selling the 2026 Infiniti Qx60 supposedly addressing the stalling issues. Instead of getting the appropriate level of management to get our issue relayed, Infiniti was trying to make money out of our traumatic experience. Based on written professional reviews, there is no evidence that the changes in the 2026 Infiniti Qx60 address the stalling issues in the current & previous models. We are stock to our leased Qx60 that we refused to drive until November 2025. We are not risking our life by driving this car again.

On Saturday, 3/22/25-vehicle lease start date for the 2025 Qx60-lease from sanford Infiniti on Saturday, 4/5/25- brought the vehicle back to sanford Infiniti due to noise coming from the engine. According to their written paperwork, “the issue is currently under engineering review and the temporary fix is to disable the anc (active noise cancellation). Turned off anc as instructed by dts, the concern is under engineering review. ” on Sunday, 7/6/25, on my way back from being out of town, as I approached an oncoming red light with cars in front of me, I tried to press the brakes and the brakes locked up, hard locked. I repeatedly hit the brakes until they finally unlocked and stopped the vehicle right before impact. I then pulled over to calm down from shaking after almost getting into a car accident. The brake issue could have been worse, and I could have not only hurt myself but others too. They may not have ‘found’ something wrong with the brakes, but the brakes locked up me and I was the one who almost got into the car accident, not them. I don’t trust the car anymore and would like to find a replacement but definitely not with Infiniti. However, even if I did get the car back, I do not want to drive it as I do not feel safe driving it and I would hope that they aren’t waiting for me to get into an actual car accident to then try to resolve this.

The fuel sensors on the car is not recognizing I have gas in my car, the battery and engine like come on while driving , then the whole system shuts off will the car is still driving.

My car started making a whining noise and leaking oil simultaneously. After taking it to be looked at, there is a broken seal due in improper assembly on the right side drive shaft. If it remains broken, not fixed, I risk a transmission failure. Multiple "technical serve bulletins" have been released by Infiniti since 2017 (my car is a 2019 and was purchased certified pre-owned), but they will not issue a recall because this isn't considered a safety issue. Losing transmission function on the highway would create a huge safety concern.

The contact stated that the smoke alarm had alerted her to an issue. While the vehicle was parked in the garage and unattended, the engine overheated. The fire department was called to the scene and detected smoke coming from the engine. The internal temperature of the vehicle was 168 degrees. The vehicle was towed to the same local dealer, who determined that the vehicle had overheated, and the vehicle should be picked up. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.

Timing chain completely went when I had been complaining of a noise while it was under warranty. I was stranded on the side of the road. The starter completely went while driving. Now, I am told the transfer case is bad and I had to pull on side of road to a repair shop.

My engine has sludge all over it as well as engine bearing shavings despite only having 122k miles and regular oil changes and maintenance.

Multiple owners report similar symptoms in 2022–2025 Infiniti Qx60 models. The 2025 Qx60 uses a new engine that has already been recalled in other Infiniti models due to similar issues. However, there has been no recall or official repair action issued for the 2025 Qx60, even though the same engine and symptoms are present. Possible engine mount or idle control defect.

The cvt unit is causing hard acceleration and jerking randomly. The cvt unit has a notification a few years ago on this model up to a certain mileage which I believe was 99,000 miles. My vechile just reached 113,000 miles and I am having this problem. It is safety and dangerous issue for me because I have been in traffic making turns when the acceleration seems to not go to gear and I almost caused an accident.

The vehicle will randomly lurch forward quite a few inches after being placed in park - and even after the door has been opened, regardless of whether the car is parked on flat ground or on an incline, and regardless of whether the emergency brake is engaged. I have noticed this predominantly when backing into a parking spot and then having to shift from reverse to park. I reverse into a parking spot in a parking garage daily and have to ensure that no people or cars are walking/driving by before I put my car in park, which is both unsafe and ridiculous. Since 4/4/2025 unresolved cvt transmission repair 4 replacement cvt transmission have failed, each time order for the repair they have failed with the same problem or different problems with the cvt transmission, •despite assurances that the repairs were properly completed, I have experienced the ongoing issues – e. G. , the gears jumped •the car wouldn’t accelerate past 20 mph •when placed in park, the transmission felt unstable •a check engine light/code appeared •4 transmission order and all have failed to fix the problem as of 6/27/2025 the reorder of replacements cvt transmission have failed. About a year ago, I was driving about 80 mph and the dash lights and radio just died, then within seconds everything came back on. It only happened that one time. The other day, I was on a busy highway headed home when my battery light came on. I just replaced both the alternator and battery less than a year ago. I started inching over to the left land (just in case) when the car just died and I had to coast to a stop in the middle of the highway with my 3 kids!!! the police came and I was able to start the car and pull it on the shoulder, then a tow truck came and dropped it off at Infiniti. They had my car for 2 days and couldn't find anything and they told me to come and pick it up. Within 30 minutes of me picking it up, it did the same thing so I took it right back to Infiniti and dropped it off. Today, they called me and it was finally doing what I said it was doing. Battery light, electrical cuts off and car just dies.

Infiniti replaced pvc hose that was cracked, electical seat warmer issue was fixed, dvd electrical issue was denied under the claim warranty, and some sensors were replaced due to codes of lean fuel, and the technician noticed a ticking noise. The dealership told us to pick the car up, drive it and put more miles on it and bring it back in to file another claim for the ticking sound. Returned to file new claim and was told the engine needed to be replaced or timing chain should be replaced due to sludge in the engine even with proper maintenance [records submitted to dealership for warranty claim which was denied]. Passanger seat warmer had also gone out since our last visit, so they're fixing that electrical issue as well. [we were denied for driver side electical window repairs, as they said components were "only loose"]. We purchased the elite protection plan that should have covered all issues but they are denying the claim. Main concern is the engine as there are multiple forums and social media groups that are complaining of the engine sludge issue on new or certified Infiniti or Nissan vehicles with the same engines. Most owners are providing service/maintenance records and still being denied engine repair or replacement under warranty. These engines need to be recalled and consumers need to be compensated for their time and repairs.

The vehicle shifts from drive into neutral intermittently. This has happed several times over the coarse of 2 years that we have had vehicle. It has occurred on both highway and street driving and is a major safety concern. We have brought it into the dealership and they could not replicate it the first time and now they are working with Infiniti to troubleshoot.

Vehicle began ticking in early 2023. Then received check engine light and trouble codes p0014 and p0017. Took to Infiniti dealership. Dealership claimed "sludge - you did not change oil regularly, " which I did - either at valvoline, wal-mart, or by myself. The vehicle needs a completely new engine and I had made it known that I want to trade in the vehicle the very next day but was told that I need to wait until 30 days has past. I have reached out to the loan institution and have documentation provided below of that Infiniti database in November of 2023 that this same vehicle needed a new engine. Both my children were hospitalized for breathing in these toxic vapors that were released from the tailpipe of the vehicle to which hgreg said they resolved and did not, as soon as vehicle started up the whole dealership came outside thinking someone's vehicle was on fire.
