38 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2020 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 01/30/2024

I was driving to work and then the vehicle stopped working once I reached a red light. It would not start and had a burning smell with smoke coming out. I had to call the police which they deemed undrivable and not safe. The car said battery but upon inspection it was a starter and possible belt problem. I've only had this car for less than three months and did an initial inspection where everything was deemed good. Now the car has not shown any problems and had an oil change for basic militance. I had no indications what so ever. It is currently being inspected by the dealer but I have heard back. I do know however, the towing company had tried to turn it back on and it was unsuccessful in both attempts. They had to forcefully tow the car which left tire marks.

Failure Date: 01/08/2024

My vehicle shut down while driving, my safety, the safety of others was very much at risk as the vehicle shut down with no warnings while driving at a very busy time and roads, cars where honking at me, I have not taken the vehicle to the dealer ship as they were just going to run a diagnosis and charge almost $300 dollars for that however I took my vehicle to auto zone they checked it briefly for me and found no error codes but this shut down has now happened twice while driving is very scary. The warning lamp that pop while vehicle shut down was Feb warning light along with the battery light.

False automatic braking when passing a large vehicle. Engine constantly having issues and codes causing poor acceleration and jerking at low speeds. Maf sensor has failed twice in 5 months. Overall worst manufactured vehicle and very unsafe for driver and citizens.

43 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2017 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 07/20/2023

My vehilce only has 31000 miles on it and the cooling fan went out, was not due to anything that I did driving wise. When I called Infiniti warranty divison in franklin tennessee they said they are aware of the complaints by other customers they said they issued a technical bullentin itb17-048 but said there was no reason for a recall but they deemed it necassry to make a design change which fixed this problem and also required a module change also. They said they are not responsible for the problem, but if that is true then why did they make the design change. So any owners with old design will have an issue and will have to replace the unit. So I am glad that I was not on the road driving and would have been stuck in the heat trying to get the car repaired. There was no warnings about the issues and even though they may the dealers aware of the issue no notice was sent owners. Please review the number of complaints that were made online about this issue. Feel like they just took advantage of me because this was not a problem I created but was due to poor design. Also the cooling fans are no longer made of metal but of plastic, what is life expectancy of this part.

45 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2017 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 07/02/2023

Driving west on i8 from az into san diego my vehicle would lose all ability to accelerate and start decelerating on the upward climbs of the crestwood summit highway pass through the cuyamaca mountains. Not only it would continue to lose complete driving power and we had to pull over many time to turn the car off and let it sit for 10 minutes. It was not over heated and no lights were on with any indication of failure. During decents and on plateaus it resumed its completely normal functioning. I immediately brought it in to oceanside CA Infiniti where they told me they don’t know what it wrong so they can’t fix it and I have to basically drive back to az through the mountains again and break down (it’s 115 degrees and almost 1. 5 hours in both directions to any town) to figure out what was wrong. It’s incredibly dangerous and clearly not safe.

46 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2014 Infiniti QX60

When accelerating the car jerks and shudders. I took it for an inspection and it was code p17f0, the mechanic said it was a safety recall because of this problem.

47 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2018 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 03/23/2023

Since my car had about 45000 miles on the odometer, it has been producing a thick white smoke, not only upon starting the car from a cold start, but also after longer distance trips over 30 miles. After having taken it to the dealership multiple times, their response has been that they cannot recreate the problem and most likely it is from engine sludge due to not maintaining the regular oil change schedule. After having shown the dealership the timely maintanence schedule I had performed on the car over the years, they continued to claim that there is no problem with the car. After the standard warranty had run out one year later and upon taking it to the dealership they claim that I need to replace the head gasket and it would cost me $3500. In addition to the avoidance game they played over that year, in my opinion they were simply pushing back the maintenance until the warranty ran out. This is a common problem with this specific car and the low mileage and I know of at least one more family experiencing this problem. There needs to be a thorough investigation on not only the problem with the engine of this car, but the potential of unscrupulous business practices of the dealerships.

48 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2015 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 03/17/2023

When tempature is hot outside or if I sit in idle for a while in traffic, car starts skipping, stalling and shuts off. I’ve already taken it to two dealerships to be fixed and spent thousands of dollars and it starts doing it again in a few months.

49 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2015 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 03/15/2023

I took my 2015 Qx60 into the Infiniti dealership on 4/3/2023 because it was misfiring, was told that there was a coolant leakage into cylinder 2, I need to get a new motor and was given a 25,671. 77 quote. I just had my car at the same dealership on 1/26/2023 and was told that everything was fine with my car. The problem started in March and I just had gotten gas, so I thought it was bad gas and needed to drive it out. But when I finally driven it out and got more from another station the problem persist. During this time my service engine light did not come on, my car did not run hot nor did it smoking and it only has 77k. I am the original owner of this car and could not believe that the lifecycle of this luxury car is only 7 years, so I reached out to Infiniti consumer affairs on 4/10/2023 for help to make sure that this is not a manufacturers defect. I was told by the representative that opened a case for me to have my car towed to another dealership for a second opinion which I did on 4/11/2023. My Infiniti dealership advisor called me on 4/12/2023 and said that it would be $3000 to do a deep dive into the motor, so I called Infiniti consumer affairs back and after the new representative came up to speed on my case, I was told that they would not help me with find the cause of this leakage. My warranty just expired on 12/19/2022 and I feel completely blindsided because when I purchase my brand new infifniti Qx60 I thought I was purchasing a reliable car that I would have for longer than the 2004 Nissan sentra that I traded in after having it for 11 years.

50 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2015 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 02/17/2023

Car stops when turning a corner. When turning it back on, it moves slow and it might have power to move but then it goes slow. The battery will drain quickly and the it stops all together. It's like the engine just goes out.

51 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2023 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 02/06/2023

The car jerks forward when accelerating from a stopped position which throws everyone in the car forward and it could potentially hit something or someone. The car does not stay in position when put in park or even turned off. It rolls back 2 feet and it hit my daughter and knocked her down from the rear and the car door hit my mother because it rolls back too far. Also, it has a major hesitation when trying to accelerate. When trying to pass a vehicle I almost got hit from a car behind me. These problems happen in every 2023 Infiniti Qx60. My car is currently in the shop trying to be for the second time but each loaner car has the same problems. One Infiniti service manager said the jerking forward is a “global problem” in this model.

53 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2015 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 09/01/2022

Vehicle keeps shutting off mid drive have to jump it to get it started. It runs ok for 1-2 days then dies again. Tested battery and checked alternator to no avail. The ac cooling fan goes up and down and draws a ton of power from the vehicle. All local mechanics can’t figure it out.

54 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2015 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 08/26/2022

The brakes will go to the floor on its own and won’t stop and almost rear ended vehicles or ran lights due to not being able to stop. The brake issue has been reproduced and noted on service records. I am a 100% disabled veteran that requires a mobility scooter for mobility and appointments. The other issue is the vehicle will loose power anywhere and anytime and has to be towed in by aaa to the Infiniti dealership every time and they say the issue cannot be reproduced and I have gone thru their complaint system and they are in the process of sending technicians to finally look at the vehicle. I am afraid if this car because the last time it happened it almost killed me because it just lost power and brakes on an oklahoma interstate at around 70mph and had to coast to the right side service area to wait for aaa was almost rear ended twice in the process of getting to a safe area. My family and I are in danger anytime we drive this vehicle and have an extended Infiniti elite warranty thru manufacture. The vehicle in question is a 2015 Infiniti Qx60 and was purchased in 10/16/2019 with 24555 miles on it and have had problems with car since day one. Please please help we do not want to die. We have all recorded messages where Infiniti makes excuse after excuse after excuse to do anything about our safety.

55 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2020 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 08/16/2022

In the summer of 2022 (I think Aug) car was stalling when stopped to make a turn. The check engine light flashed but never stayed on after the 1st incident. Brought it to a dealer and was told that the car was fine. Drove it for another two weeks and the same thing happened and no warning lights appeared. Brought it back to the dealer and was diagnosed with faulty fuel injectors after this 2nd visit. I believe all of the fuel injectors were replaced. In may of 2023 car sounded as if it was going to stall again when stopped in traffic. Happened again in early July and again last week. Today, when I was driving the car sounded as if it was going to stall/jerking. No warning lights came on in any of these scenarios. Todays incident is very concerning since this happened while I was driving between 40-50mph. Since may I have brought this car to two different dealers 3x and they can’t find anything wrong. Safety issues when idling and now when driving. It’s not a consistent issue and is unpredictable, which makes it even more concerning. I called a dealer today and was told not to bring it in since no warning lights came on and they already checked the car about two weeks ago. Was advised to drive the car in sport mode for a week to see if this makes a difference. I do a lot of driving and I’m afraid to be on major highways and driving late at night. I now have to make sure that I drive in a lane that has a shoulder in case I need to pull over.

56 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2014 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 07/01/2022

The vehicle constantly shudders and almost stalls when in reverse or in low gear. The vehicle seems to not switch properly between the hybrid battery to the engine or vice-versa. The vehicle has a recall from October 2021 and Infiniti has not fixed the recall yet. I feel the vehicle is unsafe. I have emailed and contacted Infiniti to no avail. Infiniti has not remedied this recall in any fashion in almost a year.

57 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2015 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 05/25/2022

Shortly after purchasing this used vehicle from carmax, the vehicle began experiencing serious mechanical failures involving the engine/emissions system, braking system, and suspension. The vehicle displayed a check engine warning light, and the selling dealer, carmax schaumburg, confirmed issues requiring repair, including a faulty oxygen sensor, brake-related repairs, and a suspension link. The vehicle was taken in for service, parts were ordered, and repairs were performed. Despite these repairs, the same issues reoccurred, requiring the vehicle to be returned for additional repair attempts. The problems were therefore reproduced after the initial repair, confirming the existence of unresolved defects. The vehicle was not reliably safe during this period. These failures posed safety risks due to reduced braking reliability, compromised vehicle stability, and engine performance concerns, which could affect drivability and safe operation under normal conditions. The defects were confirmed and serviced by the dealer, as documented through service communications and voicemail messages from carmax. Warning indicators, including the check engine light, were present prior to repair and prompted service visits. Exact mileage at the time of the incidents is unknown, as it was not clearly disclosed at purchase. Before the issues were fully and permanently resolved, the vehicle was repossessed, resulting in the loss of the vehicle while unresolved safety and mechanical defects existed. The repossession prevented further inspection or repair by the consumer. The repaired components and service records should be available for inspection through the dealer. No police or insurance inspection occurred in connection with a collision, as the issue involved mechanical and safety defects rather than an accident.

It is a known defect on infinity Qx60 and Nissan pathfinders. It costs $1200 to replace the fan assembly. 60 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2014 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 03/16/2022

I took it in for recall r21b4 to be reprogrammed and problem fixed. The problem still persist as I’m driving the vehicle loses all driving power which is dangerous while it has happened to me while driving on the express way. Infiniti is telling me I need to bring it back in to have my vehicle checked out and wants to charge me 186$ when the recall clearly states that the problem is the recall.

61 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2017 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 02/20/2022

We bought the car used at about 24,000 miles. No engine lights were on. After about a month of owning it smoke would come from the exhaust when started. Took it in to be look at and was told it was a fuel injector and it was replaced. No more issues for about 6 months when it suddenly lost power on the interstate at dawn barley made it to the side of the road without getting ran over. Had to have it towed to a shop where I was told it was a bad coil and they replaced it. Went to pick the car up and less than a mile down the road it lost power again. Took it down for Infiniti to look at it. They said it had previously had engine sludge and that the warranty was voided because of it. After online searches, this seems to be a regular occurrence for this year and model. They recommend a new engine for $14,000. Now stuck with a vehicle that won’t run with a monthly payment I’m making on it.

62 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2014 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 02/18/2022

A few years ago, while in stop and start traffic on a hill, I experienced the hybrid engine and regular engine failure multiple times. Infiniti replaced my transmission. I have yet to recreate the same stop/start situation on a hill but have smelled the same smell of burning while in stop start traffic on a highway. Now Infiniti has issues a recall for this very issue. I'm wondering what constitutes a "reasonable time" for Infiniti to provide a solution as this is going on 6 months. I'm very concerned that my car is particularly vulnerable to this failure as it has occurred before. Yes, there was a warning that the hybrid system was overheating and then it died not much longer after the warning.

63 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2017 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 02/04/2022

2017 infinit Qx60. Consumer writes in regards to unintended acceleration.

64 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2018 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 02/01/2022

I purchased my 2018 Qx60 in 2021 at competition Infiniti as a certified pre-own vehicle. I soon began to hear a rattling noise and the steering wheel would vibrate a little. I brought the vehicle back to the dealer several times with this complain and they keep telling me that their is nothing that the can do for me because that’s the way the vehicle is built. The noise as I was told is common in Qx60 models and that I’m not the only person that has complained about it. I told him that I don’t expect for a $30,000+ luxury vehicle to sound that. They also explained to me that it was something that was built in the vehicle to help with fuel efficiency. I think he called it a droner or something like that. I love the look my vehicle but I hate driving my vehicle because of this noise. I filed a complaint with Infiniti consumer service as well, who instruct me to have the fail inspected by another Infiniti dealer to make sure the dealer is not refusing to fix the problem. I am disgusted that a vehicle that I purchased at an Infiniti dealer is sounding like this. If you can provide any help in this matter, it would be greatly appreciated.

65 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2015 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 01/29/2022

My vehicle only 67k miles and wheel bearing already bad, replace 2 weeks ago and hmm noise get worsen without warning light, diagnosed from Infiniti dealer saying that transfer case costing $6400 to repair, and not allowing to drive, I can't afford to fix and need vehicle to work. Please help me to file complaint, thank you.

66 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2017 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 01/23/2022

While driving the car the engine suddenly stopped completely and we rolled the car to the side of the road. Had this happened on the highway a bit earlier it could have been a major accident as it was snowing heavily and there were snow plows and semis at high speeds. For the next 15 min the car would start and engine would stop on trying to accelerate. After raising the engine in reverse the car stayed on and we were able to come home. (I found across similar experiences from other Infiniti owners online. ) note : at a little over 70k mile the car had an issue where the acceleration suddenly dropped while driving. Dealer told us the engine was shot and we had to replace the engine. The new current engine also had some instances of erratic acceleration but dealer said no issue was found on diagnostics.

67 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2019 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 01/16/2022

The car engine suddenly shut off itself while I am driving in the middle of the road. The engine and the collision sensor lights were on, I had to fully stop the car and put it into "p" then restart the engine in order to go again. It was a heavy snowing day, I drove pretty slow about 20- 30 mph. It happened twice that day and one of the times I was stopped at the middle of an intersection. There were no warning lamps or any other symptoms at all, and my car still has fuel which the dealer can prove. It's extremely dangerous because my car just suddenly has to stop especially it was a snowing day. I got the car tolled to an Infiniti dealer the next day, they ran a check and did a test drive (was not snowing the next day) but they couldn't duplicate the problem, so they cannot fix anything. Contacted Infiniti cooperate but they said if the dealer couldn't duplicate the problem, they cannot do anything about it.

68 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2017 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 11/12/2021

We bought the car used at 63,000 miles (approx. ). At 65,000 (approx. ) the engine will not crank. No engine lights were on. Infiniti will not acknowledge warranty due to engine sludge even though it has been maintained. After online searches, this seems to be a regular occurrence for this model and year.

69 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2015 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 10/28/2021

The contact owns a 2015 infinity Qx60. The contact stated while driving 60 mph, the vehicle started to stall. The contact pulled over and waited for about 30 minutes to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was started and driven back to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer to be diagnosed: however, no failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.

70 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2014 Infiniti QX60

Failure Date: 10/03/2021

Purchased my Qx60 3 months ago from a used dealership. Today while out of town, car abruptly stopped accelerating. I pushed to safety, let it sit, car began to start moving again. Within a short min, it was right back to shutting off and being stuck in traffic with 4 minor passengers. This is very dangerous and seemingly a more common issue than just me. The day after my wedding…. And I’m towing my car.
