I have a 2020 Infiniti Qx60. While driving on the interstate i75 the check engine light came on and the car lost power. This was very dangerous as it could have caused a very serious accident. Had to have car towed to dealership. Was told that the transmission needed to be replaced at a cost of $8,600. This SUV has only about 75,000 miles. Upon checking the internet I found that this transmission issue has been a problem for a number of years and Infiniti has not adequately addressed it. This is a safety issue and Infiniti should take ownership and fix problem.

My 2019 Infiniti Qx60 (VIN [xxx] ) experienced a sudden transmission failure at 99,995 miles. The vehicle would no longer shift into gear and became undriveable. The dealer found diagnostic code p2813 – pressure control solenoid g, indicating internal transmission failure. The repair estimate is $8,369. 87. This appears to be part of a known pattern of cvt failures affecting Infiniti/Nissan vehicles, including the Qx60. Earlier models (2015–2018) had warranty extensions for similar cvt defects. This failure occurred without warning and poses a major safety hazard, as the vehicle could not accelerate or be driven. My wife was pulling out of the parking area after picking up my [xxx] and as soon as she pulled out and shifted it to drive it would not. Ended up with a vehicle almost hitting them, which was a close call. After shifting it back-and-forth it finally went into gear and took it straight to the service center. The service center even said that they had to tow it into the garage because it would not go into gear any longer. I am requesting NHTSA investigate whether this transmission defect affects 2019 and later Qx60 models and whether a recall or manufacturer remedy is warranted. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

I was driving my vehicle and as I was making a turn lost power and almost got struct by a vehicle coming from the other direction I regained power and immediately called Infiniti dealership and spoke to service advisor to have vehicle inspected I recently had the cvt transmission replaced a month prior when I brought SUV in I was informed it was not the transmission but the right shaft seal and transfer case were leaking and low on fluid causing the power loss I was told that there was a TSB issued by Nissan in regards to this I believe this should be changed to a recall especially being a chronic issue with these vehicles there should be a safety recall cause of the power loss thank god I regained power I had my wife and kids in the vehicle and was a very nerve racking scenario I contacted corporate Infiniti but they were not helpful at all.
Odometer fraud. The contact purchased a 2020 Infiniti Qx60. The contact discovered a mileage discrepancy after the purchase. Additionally, the transmission was jerking while the vehicle was being driven. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the mileage was 46,000. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, but no assistance was provided. It was later discovered that the mileage on the title was 57,000. The VIN was not available.
Differential failed and leaking fluid - premature failure. Yes, part will be available, and repair diagnosed by kendall inifiniti of nampa dealership. In process of review by manufacturer district area manager. No warning, no messages, no smells, nada - took auto in for scheduled 60,000 mile service at dealer and provided $4,100 estimate for repair - see attached. Vehicle previously serviced in Feb 2025 at same dealership and drivetrain was reported good without any mention of leak or seal failure. Service rep believes this failed months ago.
My vehicle is having issues with the cvt transmission timing chain, I was just aware, there was a recall in the past but my Infiniti dealership said it's expired. And they won't help replace it. I'm getting judder while driving.

Timing chain completely went when I had been complaining of a noise while it was under warranty. I was stranded on the side of the road. The starter completely went while driving. Now, I am told the transfer case is bad and I had to pull on side of road to a repair shop.

There are two problems we have had for many miles. 1. Cvt- completely gone at 120k miles but we have had problems almost from the beginning (lease then bought). We were told by the Infiniti dealership they couldn't find anything (30-40k miles approximately) so we let it go thinking maybe it was the carpet mat rubbing up against the gas pedal that made the engine scudder, limp then go fast. Dealership is asking $7k + to replace. -safety wise the acceleration was lessened. Think of merging on a highway with 18 wheelers on your tail and the car just revs up to 5000 rpms and you are going nowhere. - Infiniti dealership has confirmed the cvt needs to be replaced. - no other inspection(s) has occurred. -the symptoms have been almost all along. Was not identified when at dealership. 2. Rear coupler. It was replaced in September 2023 with 81,344 miles. And now at approximately 120k miles it needs to be replaced. Again, this is almost from the time of purchase the scrapping noise. We thought it was the tires scrapping when we turned. I find it hard to believe a part can go so quickly (39k miles). $3k + to replace in 2023. -safety wise the traction in wet weather. - Nissan dealership identified and repaired in September 2023. Provided a 12 month/12k mile warranty. Way too little for the cost of the repair. Infiniti dealership diagnosed this with the cvt. (above) - Nissan dealership said they would need to inspect to determine if there was anything they would do. -the symptons have been almost all along. Was not identified when at dealership.
I saw engine warning lamp. It reported transmission problem. When I press the gas pedal I feel the a lot of shudder .

I am reporting a serious safety failure involving my 2014 Infiniti Qx60 hybrid (VIN: [xxx] ), tied to recall r21b4 / NHTSA 21v-774. Although the recall was marked complete before I bought the car in 2022, the defect — sudden loss of power — occurred again while I was driving at highway speeds. Infiniti is refusing to assist due to age/mileage, despite clear evidence the recall fix was ineffective or incomplete. Diagnostic codes confirm hybrid system failure (p0a08, c1a1a, c1130). I am requesting a full investigation into Infiniti’s handling of this recall and a resolution for my unsafe vehicle. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
This vehicle started shaking and juttering at a lower speed and made it very difficult to drive. Then I could accelerate and it would not go faster. I took it to a repair shop and they were getting cvt codes for the transmission. I looked online a found that many other people had these same issues as well as a class action lawsuit that was settled a few years ago for 278 million for these problems. I was never informed that this cvt was a problem and could have it replaced from Nissan for no charge. I am not sure why Nissan would allow an unsafe transmission to be installed into a vehicle that would make the car unsafe to drive.
The rear right differential side seal failed under 40k miles and car was out of manufacturer warranty and I had to pay to get the seal and bearing replaced. I cannot believe a seal and bearing need to be rep[laced withing 40k miles. I had to replace a seal on the transfer case last year when the car was still under manufacturer's warranty. My guess is that poor quality of the seals/bearings or improper installation procedures could have led to these early failures and surely warrants an investigation.
In the beginning when I pull off the car shudders and jerks speed was delayed. Now in the middle of driving with some speed the car beginnings to strain and barely move although the gauge shows I’m going 40 miles the car is straining and going under 5 miles. This started maybe a year ago but now it is much worser.
The car is not engaging when going from 1st to all gears, the car feels very shaky and unstable.
The rear differential is messed up on this truck, and there is grinding noise - when I turn left or right, and there,s a whinning noise while driving, and also black fluid drips from in between the oil pan, and transmission and hissing sound when turned on. .

Transmission has a shudder between 15-20 mph around 1000-1500 rpm. Mainly happens in std mode, other modes run at higher rpms but does still happen on occasion.
The whole vehicle experiences strong vibrations when accelerating to 30 miles per hour and higher. It also gives strong judder or kicks when turning. Hard to control the vehicle at high speeds. No warning light is on. Took the vehicle to a local dealer (houston southwest Infiniti) and found that the problem was caused by a defective rear differential coupler.
2016 Infiniti Qx60 93,000 miles the battery light was on. I have noticed that my cvt transmission goes into limp mode. This has happened several times with no help from Infiniti. I can only go 10mph and it revs only 1000 rpm, then it'll be fine after I turn off and on again. Had battery and alternator checked and they're 100% good. This is very dangerous when it happenes in traffic and Infiniti won't do anything.

Car is slipping and have had cv joints checked, fluids replaced. Was told it was the differential coupling. Looked it up and many, many others are having the same issue. This is a safety concern because the transmission is slipping on these cars when they get to 50,000+ miles.
Transfer case leaking. Resealing of transfer case was performed under warranty. The vehicle was under warranty and had only 33,000 miles. It was rather alarming that such transmission/power train issues showed up at such low mileage.
Check engine light came on. Diagnosis revealed timing chain needs to be replaced. Mileage is past the warranty but years is not past the warranty. Repair comes just a couple of months after gear shift locked up and full gear shift assembly had to be replaced.
When the vehicle slows from cruising speed to below 20 mph, the car shakes violently and the engine nearly stops. To avoid the shaking, I must place the vehicle in neutral until it comes to a complete stop. If I shift into drive before I stop, the vehicle shudders again. When in traffic, it could cause the vehicle to be rear-ended. My wife won't drive the vehicle because of this. Owners' forum seems to indicate this is a common problem and may be related to https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/tsbs/2018/mc-10145543-9999. Pdf.
Transmission failure. The cvt transmission did not engage in gear while driving (on the highway!) I was able to drive in "limp mode" to reputable mechanic in the area. The mechanic flushed the cvt fluid, changed the filters and checked all the electronic codes, but the problem persists. The vehicle will require a new transmission or a rebuild.
I bought my 2014 Infiniti Qx60 in 2016 that had a little over 68k miles on it. On may 3, 2024, I just hit over $100k & felt the car do a soft lurch then it started to do a small crawl inch by inch. No warning lights came on or messages. Before this happened, I heard what I thought was a flat tire, or a plane taxing sound. I got the car towed to a mechanic shop and was told that I need a new 'transfer case'. I was told that there was a recall for this but do not see it for this model. If Infiniti knew it had problems why was a recall not done. If I want to get it fixed it will cost over $5k again. I already got it changed and the front differential a year ago. So is this something that will have to be done yearly?.
Dear Infiniti consumer affairs, I am writing to express my concern about the recent transmission failure in my vehicle. This is the second time I have experienced a transmission failure in less than a year. The first transmission failure occurred on around may of 2023. The symptoms were as follows: the transmission gave out while on the highway, causing the vehicle to not start or drive. The transmission would not shift gears at 4000 rpms unless I let off the gas and then gave it gas again. I took my vehicle to the dealership on sometime in may 2024, and they replaced the transmission after they tried to do a valve body that was recommended by the warranty department. Later, I was told that the failure was caused by a faulty transmission and was on recall notice. The second transmission failure occurred on 4/5/2024. The symptoms were as follows: the transmission would not shift gears at 4000 rpms unless I let off the gas and then gave it gas again. The transmission would sometimes slip out of gear while driving. The transmission would make a grinding noise when shifting gears. My wife is taking the vehicle to the dealership on 04/08/2024, and they are currently diagnosing the problem. I am concerned that this is a recurring issue with my vehicle, and I am worried that it will continue to happen. I am also concerned about the safety of my vehicle, the safety of myself my wife and my kids as a transmission failure could cause both her and I to lose control while driving. I am requesting that you investigate this matter and take the necessary steps to resolve the issue. I would like to know what caused the transmission to fail, and I would like to know what steps can be taken to prevent it from happening again. I am also requesting that you provide me with a loaner vehicle while my vehicle is being repaired. My wife needs a vehicle for work, and she cannot afford to be without it. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. If you need to reach.
While driving on my regular commute, the car sputtered when shifting gears automatically and stopped being able to accelerate beyond 30mph in the middle of a busy road. When the accelerator was pressed, the motor sounded like it was revving but not accelerating. An electric fire burn smell started to emit and a warning turned on for the first time reading “hybrid system overheated” as well as the check engine light. No issues before this incident. An independent third party service center confirmed that it’s an issue with the transmission. We confirmed that this is a common problem with other Qx60s from 2014 that the transmission fails and replacing it does not guarantee that the problem will be fixed long term since the issue is that the original design of the transmission is flawed.
Transmission is making a whining noise when accelerating. Also studders/jerks when trying to shift.
Transmission shudder at low speeds, I see many complaints on this issue. Hopefully something gets done!!!!.
• intake air temperature: high input circuit •it's in a mechanic shop. To change automic transmission. •unknown •yes, at the mechanic shop it is at. •yes, mechanic shop. •approximately the last days of January the car started feeling "bumpy" when driving. And it was also slow.
The contact owns a 2014 Infiniti Qx60. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact drove the vehicle to a nearby parking lot and parked the vehicle. The vehicle was turned off and restarted; however, the gear shifter failed to shift into drive or reverse. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the contact was informed that the installed alternator was not oem and not sufficient for retaining power to run the vehicle. The contact was informed that the alternator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was towed back to the residence. The contact stated that the latest failure began in January 2024. However, the vehicle had been towed several times to the independent mechanic and the dealer since the failure first started. The contact stated that the alternator was replaced in March 2024 with an aftermarket alternator; however, the failure reoccurred. Additionally, there were several unknown warning lights illuminated since replacing the alternator. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 85,614.
The vehicle lost power while driving , that resulted in stop during active trafic and the car towed.
The car begins to shake and shutter when I reach 2500rpms.
The contact owns a 2014 Infiniti Qx60. The contact stated that, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost significant motive power and failed to accelerate as intended. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the transfer case. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 160,000.
Vehicle looses power randomly. No engine or warning lights. Rpms will rev but car will not go into gear or drive. I can shut off the vehicle for a couple hours then restart and will drive fine until randomly happens again.
We went to a carwash and had to put the car in neutral. Not easy to do, but we finally got it in neutral. So, we come to the end of the wash, the car is rolling out and when we tried to move it back into drive, it wouldn't go! it kept on beeping every time we tried. Panic set in and my son jumped out to push the car out of the way but the car put the transmission in park! he jumped back in and accidentally hit the brake which allowed him to push it back into drive.
