The contact rented a 2010 International 4000 series 4300. The contact stated that while traveling approximately 50 mph, the vehicle decelerated without warning. The failure was recurring. The contact had to apply force to the accelerator pedal but to no avail. The vehicle then decelerated below 30 mph and exhibited a loud noise in addition to extreme hesitation. The contact proceeded to operate the vehicle with the hazard lights activated as the vehicle proceeded to decelerate further. The vehicle was then towed by the rental truck company. There was no mention to the contact if the vehicle had received repairs from a recall, neither inspected nor diagnosed by a local dealer. The manufacturer was not aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was not available.
