The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with needing part number: xr850468 (carbon canister assembly) to be replaced. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 06v418000 (fuel system, gasoline) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle owner was responsible for all repair costs. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.
