The contact owns a 2005 Jaguar Xj8. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The technician stated that the throttle gasket would have to be replaced. Approximately two years after the repair, the contact was driving approximately 60 mph when the vehicle suddenly stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The technician stated that the fuel pump would have to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 53,000. . . Updated 09/04/12 the consumer stated in 2009 the throttle body was replaced; however, the dealer invoice lists park brake fault. The park brake was not repaired. In July 2012, the vehicle was towed to the nearest mechanic who found the inertia switch had engaged without the vehicle having been in an accident. The dealer then replaced the fuel pump but, did not repair the inertia switch. Updated 09/12/2012.
