Three problems related to power train have been reported for the 1996 Jeep Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Tl- the contact owns a 1996 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at 55mph the vehicle shook uncontrollably and the power steering became inoperable and then became loose. The contact stated the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact the vehicle needed a new power steering gauge and a front in alignment. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was unknown. Jc.
While accelerating from stop accelerator went full throttle, turned switch off to stop the vehicle. During restart vehicle full throttled. Upon inspection notice that the vehicle had no reverse and transmission did not shift to overdrive after this incident.
