The contact owns a 1997 Jeep Cherokee. The contact received a recall notification for NHTSA campaign number: 13v252000 (fuel system, gasoline, structure) and stated that the part needed was unavailable to perform the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

2 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/22/2003

While driving, the fuel gauge indicated the incorrect amount of fuel. As a result the vehicle ran out of gas without warning. The dealership was notified but did not resolve the problem.

3 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2003

The fuel gauge read inaccurately.

4 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2001

Fuel-sending unit will read that consumer has gas, however the vehicle does not really have any, and will run out of gas while driving. Dealer notified.

5 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Owner received recall notice 97v194. 002, fuel sending unit in February. Contacted dealer and was told parts had to be ordered, dealership still does not have parts in.
