One problem related to loud engine noise has been reported for the 1997 Jeep Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer was traveling 65 mph & vehicle started making a real loud noise. Consumer pulled over to see what was wrong, it seemed okay to drive vehicle home. Next day vehicle was taken to garage, motor bolts broke off. Dealer was contacted, but because of no warranty, they didn't seem concerned.
