Engine Exhaust System problems of the 1998 Jeep Cherokee

Four problems related to engine exhaust system have been reported for the 1998 Jeep Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Engine Exhaust System problem

Failure Date: 06/17/1998

At 11,029 front pads and rotors were replaced, sway-bar bushings were replaced, exhaust hanger was replaced, drivers seat squeeked (fixed under recall), and exterior door button broke. Now, at 27,098 rotors and pads need replaced again, transfer case and front differental input shaft leaked and repaired.

2 Engine Exhaust System problem

Failure Date: 03/01/1998

Exhaust system failed.

3 Engine Exhaust System problem

Failure Date: 09/01/1997

Exhaust system problem due to bad mufler seal. Yh.

4 Engine Exhaust System problem

Exhaust gas leakage from weep holes.
