Engine problems of the 1998 Jeep Cherokee

Four problems related to engine have been reported for the 1998 Jeep Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Engine problem

Failure Date: 07/28/2003

While in the house for ten minutes the Jeep caught on fire. The fire department stated that the fire was associated with the engine. The heat was sort of intense which melted the paint to the hood, making it difficult to open the hood by the mechanic.

2 Engine problem

Failure Date: 07/06/2000

Oil pressure gauge dropped due to failure of the oil pressure sending unit.

3 Engine problem

Failure Date: 09/01/1999

Please note at the present time temperature gauge is not working after approx 6 . Gasket change water hose etc.

4 Engine problem

Support bolts that hold the engine have sheared off. Dealer and manufacturer have been notified.
