Front Air Bag Sensor Control problems of the 1998 Jeep Cherokee

1 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 05/30/2003

While driving air bag light illuminated twice for about a minute. Vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic shop. Mechanic stated theat vehicle was under recall 00v105000 for air bag control module. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who indicated that vehicle had already recall repairs performed, but there were no records of recall repairs. Air bag control module must be replaced at the owner's expense.

2 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2003

The vehicle was recalled (recall number 00v-105000) for a faulty drivers side air bag module, however the failure occurred on the passenger side air bag module. There was a front rotor recall performed as well.

3 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 01/04/2002

While driving, the air bag light illuminateed on dashboard, once the air bag light illuminates other lights will illuminate and then blink on and off, consumer took vehicle to the dealer. Consumer is requesting reimbursement for the air bag, due to discovering that there is a recall on the air bag sensor, however the problem still exists, also the speedometer drops to zero when driving.

4 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 10/05/2001

Recall 00v105000 concerning air bag control module: recall repairs were performed on September 1, 2001. However, the problem recurred. Air bag light illuminated while vehicle was still in motion. Consumer believed this represented a recall remedy failure, and NHTSA should have looked into it again. . This report was presented by mr. Jack wyluda for the above consumer.

5 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 06/21/2000

The dealership indicated and falsified documents which stated the recall on the air bag module (recall number 00v-105000) was complete but it wasn't.

6 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 10/21/1999

Vehicle experienced failure of the recall component (00v-105) prior to recall notification, consumer requesting reimbursement, repair due to the water damage to the module.

7 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 09/29/1998

When driving the cruise control kicked on, and it came on/off. Whenever it wanted to. Also, the air bag sensor light came on, and the light came on and off whenever it wanted. In addition, speedodmeter didn't work, and the consumer had the vehicle in the shop four times for the air bag sensor light. The vehicle is still in the shop and the dealer can't determine the problem. The dash board goes dead while driving because connectors were not seating properly. Fuse panel falls off and will not stay on at all because right kick panel is deformed.

8 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 02/02/1998

Odometer/ speedometer/ techometer and signal light for the air bag stopped working. All the wirnig connections were checked and tightened by the dealership, which solved the problem for a while. Because this happened intermittently, dealer was not able to fix problem. When the owner hits the dash very hard everything returns to normal. Please provide any further information.

9 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Consumer was not notified of the (00v-105) air bag recall.

10 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Recall repair (00v-105) completed and the vehicle continued to experience problems with the air bag light illuminating.

11 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

After recall repair 00v-105 of the air bag control module the air bag indicator illuminated, consumer returned the vehicle to dealer for additional repair but they refused repairs. Nlm.
