Front Suspension problems of the 1998 Jeep Cherokee

Four problems related to front suspension have been reported for the 1998 Jeep Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Front Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/25/1997

Toe was out and front end out of alignment.

2 Front Suspension problem

Jeep pulls to right when driving. Front end has been aligned by dealer 3 times with no improvement; tires have been rotated with no improvement or change, and all four tires were replaced with new tires.

3 Front Suspension problem

Driveshaft out of balance, causing vehicle to make noise at 55-65 mph. Defect corrected as of 09/15/98. Also replaced two tires due to front end misalignment.

4 Front Suspension problem

Consumer has had tires balanced several times and has had vehicle aligned several times, however vibration and shimmying occurs, consumer puts air in tires and after about 20 miles, vehicle will begin to vibrate.
