Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problems of the 1998 Jeep Cherokee

Six problems related to other fuel system fuel gauge have been reported for the 1998 Jeep Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2004

While driving fuel gage fluctuates leaving the consumer with no knowledge of how much gas is in the gas tank. Also, the electrical locking mechanism for the doors malfunctioned. Upon using the automatic lock button, it will not lock unless consumer gets out of the vehicle, and uses the key. Also, consumer has to use the key to lock the tailgate. The consumer sited the recall for the fuelgage needed to fix the vehicle. The vehicle was not covered under the recall for the consumers vehicle.

2 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 05/04/2002

While driving on freeway vehicle stalls because gas tank is empty but reads a 1/4 tank. Dealer contacted. Ts.

3 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2001

Gas gauge reading inaccurate, been replaced 4 times.

4 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 02/28/2000

Fuel tank sending unit failed causing vehicle stalling.

5 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 02/28/2000

Vehicle stalled due to shorted out fuel tank sending unit.

6 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem

Failure Date: 09/22/1999

Fuel tank sending unit failed causing the vehicle to run out of gas at 1/4 of a tank. Nlm.
