Two problems related to other fuel system tank mounting have been reported for the 1998 Jeep Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
In the past 6 months at different times the dashboard mounted gas gauge has given irratic readings and two days ago the gauge showed 1/4 tank the "dte" gauge showed approx 125miles till empty, and it ran out of gas.
Gas guage read more fuel than the actual amount found in the fuel tank. This caused the consumer to run out of gas because consumer thought that tank was 3/4 full when it was actually empty.
