The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, the shift module suddenly failed by shifting out of gear and the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and then drove to the nearest dealer. The dealer inspected the vehicle and informed the contact that he would need to replace the gear shift module. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000. The VIN was unavailable.
