1 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2021

1) the shifter lights came on driving in from town to my house, appx. 10 miles, took a picture of all the lights on on the shifter. 1-5-2021. Wife turn off and on at home and lights didn't light up after they reset. Have not taken in to dealer as of1-6-2021. 2) the dome lights stop working, all of them, took it in to dealer, they said the driver visor has a short so as long as I leave the fuse to the driver side visor off the rest of the light would work, new visor cost over $500 so I opted to wait till I could afford it, I have the bumper to bumper extended warranty, paid extra $4500 as long as I owe the darn thing I thought it would fix thing like this, no it does not. There is a recall on the visor wiring issue but mine was not covered. 2 month later dome lights ho out again?? call dealer and tell about it, say replace the left side visor fuse, tried it blows out, call again, they tell don't replace fuse any more?? left with no dome lightfor now. 3) transmission shifting issue in mountains, going uphill, had to pull over to slowly restart the shifting process, mine you this was a replacement transmission covered by warranty, this incident issued only once and starting shifting ok,didn't take to dealer, almost like what for, they won't do nothing but reset. In conclusion if I could return and get some return on it I would, even at a loss mostly likely trading in for a Honda. Too dangerous for my wife to drive. Never again no Chrysler products. Jeep was a very big disappointment.

2 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 09/03/2020

While driving on a highway, service shifter warning displayed and all indicator lights were lit (park, neutral, reverse, drive). This caused panic and the driver pulled over to turn off the engine. A dealership diagnosis is short in wiring. This manufacturer defect has caused wrecks and needs to be recalled by Jeep.

3 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 04/12/2020

The warning light came on multiple times (first day 10/4/2019 driving locally), regarding servicing the transmission, brake and airbag after starting and in a non-moving mode. On the second day of ownership 10/5/2019, I took it to the closest Jeep dealership to have them check on the warning light. The tech advisor gave me a print out of all the error codes showing (quite a few). On the sixth day 10-10-2019, I only had driven it locally when the transmission slipped out of the drive gear when I was at a stop sign. The drive transmission wasn't engaging when I pressed the gas pedal. I put it in park and then back into drive, and it then went forward. I drove home, and I parked the Jeep in my yard. I didn't drive it again with a real concern that the Jeep wasn't safe to drive and not wanting to get stranded along a road somewhere. In 11/2019, I next drove the Jeep in my attempt to get it to the dealership service department to have the diagnostics done to find out the exact issues. The transmission did the same thing and slipped out of drive in busy stop and go traffic in route on a 5 lane highway at a traffic light after stopping and giving gas to move forward. This time it took four attempts (placing in park and then drive) before the Jeep would drive forward. I made it to the dealership on a prayer five minutes further down the road. The final diagnosis (12/18-2019) was that the Jeep needs a transmission/engine wiring harness. there is a brake in the transmission control module circuit for communication and depending on how the engine flexs, the communication line drops out and causes the tcm to go offline. On 4/12/2020, I took photos of the code flashing (see attached images). It wouldn't start. One week later, it started and I drove it in my yard to park it farther out of my main driveway. There it has sat for a few months.

7 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2016

On October 10, 2016, I was driving on an access road next to a highway when my car lost motive power. I was driving at approximately 40mph and I did not have enough time to pull over from the lane I was in. My dashboard kept flashing "service transmission" and also to "put the car in park and re-start. " for ten minutes, I attempted to re-start the vehicle and begin driving again. Each time I would try to put the car in drive, there was a very loud racket sound from shifting and I had to put the car back in park. Finally, on the sixth attempt, I was able to shift into drive without the sound and I immediately drove my car home. I am disheartened as this was a purchase of a used vehicle only a few days prior, on October 8, 2016, that had only 30,000 miles. Needless to say, my car is already at my local Jeep dealership for repair, and not much reassurance with regards to the associated recall, as parts are not ready yet. This was intended to be a family vehicle, but if it stops while driving, it will render my family completely unsafe. The s55 recall concerns a poorly designed wiring harness, that causes the computer to shift the vehicle into neutral while driving. Nhtsa recall number: 16v529 recall date: August 22, 2016 manufacturer recall number: s55.

Just received my third safety recall today. . . P67. P14, brake booster and p36, sun visor wiring are yet to be fixed. P14 dates back to this fall 2014. I've been on a waiting list since that time. The dealership, patriot Chrysler Dodge in mountain lake park, MD says they cannot get the parts to fix the recalls. Is this ridiculous? please advise.
