Air bag service light came on. Took it to a reputable repair business. Diagnosed with codes b0020-13 left side seat deployment squib 1. Found tech service bulletin #10-002-18 for replacing air bag seat harness and seat bolts for this code. Chrysler recommends both harnesses are replaced (left and right). Chrysler is charging $2,677. 16 for the parts. They say it is a 'common' problem and in fact the parts are on back order until at least January 19th. This is a safety issue as the airbag will not deploy. The vehicle is less than 10 years old, which meets two out of three criteria for it to be considered a recall issue. I cannot afford this type of repair which is a problem I did nothing to create.
During an accident, the air bags failed to deploy when hit by a Dodge ram 2500. The vehicle was totalled by the insurance company, and the insurance company took ownership of the vehicle.

This vehicle shows all recalls have been completed. However, every time it rains, the hatch compartment fills with water. 10/30/2022, my electronic parking brake light came on and the vehicle was stuck in park. Once we got the car home, I opened the hatch and removed the spare tire; there was standing water in the area from rain. This morning I was leaving for work an d the following lights came on; 1) service 4wd 2) service electronic parking brake 3) service airbags 4) service front collision system 5) service auto start stop 6) adaptive cruise control not available 7) cruise/ fcw unab=vailable- service required this vehicle has been a complete nightmare. I did record the event as we used a shop vac to remove the water. The service 4 wd light comes on and goes off randomly daily; the ptu was "flashed" but the problem continued. I have contacted the dealership only to be told all recalls are complete and I must pay for the additional repairs. I have contacted Jeep and have had zero resolutions.
Vehicle was in motion when it left the road. I swerved to miss a dog. I had my seatbelt on during this accident however my head (top, right front of my head) hit the windshield glass and the glass broke/shattered. My hair was caught in the broken cracks of the glass on the windshield and my hair was pulled out of my head, I guess when the seatbelt pulled me back into position it managed to keep my hair lodged. I got small pieces of glass out of my scalp for a week. I had other injuries as well. Every single airbag of this car was deployed and my vehicle a total loss. I was only going around 45 mph. I am thankful to be here sharing this passage. I just have tried to figure out how I managed to hit the windshield while my seatbelt was on my body and the airbags deployed.
My wife was driving her Jeep when we hit black ice. My wife lost control of the Jeep and hit two fence poles and a tree. The Jeep sustained heavy front end damage. She was traveling 40-45 mph an hour. None of the airbags deployed in the vehicle on impact.
Airbags deployed and metal damaged my face.
Went to start car wouldn't start or turn over. Received jump from roadside assistance and waited 20 min before attempting to drive to the nearest auto zone (2 miles). Once I started driving the dashboard lights started flickering and as soon as I came to a red light at a very busy 3 lane intersection I was in the middle lane and my car shut off & wouldn't turn back on. At this point, my only option was to sit without any power, therefore no hazard lights, and wait for someone to hit me as I was unable to leave my vehicle due to high risk of being hit by a car. During the terrifying time of waiting eventually I did get hit. Which caused a three car accident & pile-up on this very busy road. I was the front vehicle and my Jeep is probably totaled and I will be going to doctor tomorrow, the middle vehicle received the most damage & the passengers were hurt & went to hospital, the 3rd vehicle (truck) was very damaged but the driver was not injured. I then called 911 & we filled out a police report & my car was towed & the police drove me home like a criminal. This accident was caused by my Jeep's electrical malfunction. I do not currently see a recall for anything by VIN or by make/model. Please address this immediately as I do not want others to be effected as I was at the fault of Jeep.
Command view dual-pane panoramic sunroof. Is extremely noisy when driving. Was reaffixed or reinstalled by dealership and now noisier than before. Faulty air bag was replaced at same time as horn was not working also ??.
Traveling on highway I 94 at 70mph 5pm Jan 10th, 2018, came into contact with vehicle while merging into center lane. His car forces mine into a spin, I crashed head on into the concrete barrier/wall separating the east and west bound lanes. None of the airbags in the entire vehicle deployed. Neither the driver, passenger or side curtain airbags deployed. I survived but had two breaks in the sternal chest plate, a fractured right rib and broken left wrist requiring surgery resulting in screws and plates installed. Medical bills over $80k I was wearing my seatbelt the entire time. That day the weather was clear and approx 40-45 degrees. Through the dealer, I contacted the manufacturers customer service which directed me to their forensic team so they could obtain the black box in the vehicle and access to the car. I have serious concerns regarding not only my safety but others that own the same make and model. I am 73 years old and everyone from the ambulance driver to the state trooper that was on the scene of the accident said that I have a lawsuit here. I do not want to file suit. I don't have the time or the inclination to go that direction but I feel that the manufacturer owes me and the other customers something should they find themselves in my position. The manufacturers representative was not very helpful and I feel that I am getting the brush off and they have not returned my calls. I am hesitant to be a complainer. I hope that Jeep/Chrysler address this safety issue for me as well as others that may have the same concerns.
My son and I were in front and side impact crash with another vehicle on 4/24/17 with significant damage but no airbags deployed in our vehicle. Attached are a few photos of both vehicles for reference. We were driving a 2015 Jeep Cherokee and were hit by a driver who hydroplaned in a 2011 Hyundai elantra. The reporting officer estimated my speed at impact was 40 mph. Airbags deployed in the other vehicle but not in ours. Considering the damage to the vehicle, force of impact and estimated travel speed at impact, I feel the Jeep airbags failed from a safety standpoint and would like to know how to go about investigating this further with Jeep. An accident report is available but did not upload due to the sensitive information contained within (VIN #'s, names, insurance policy numbers, etc); however, the report can be provided under separate cover if needed.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 15v041000 (air bags) and 15v676000 (engine and engine cooling). The dealer was contacted several times for months, but would not return the calls. The manufacturer was notified. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
"takata recall. " accident occurred on 8/1/2015 as we were heading north on a major highway in tampa, florida. At a major intersection, a person ran a left turn light as we were entering the intersection. We hit him on the right rear of his vehicle at 45 mph. No airbags in our vehicle deployed.
I was driving on highway 18, my speed was around 25-30 mph when all of a sudden I heard a loud explosion noise and all the air bags on the seats and roof had deployed (8 air bags). I and the person with me received bruises a, hurt shoulder and wrist. I took the car back to the dealer so they could fix the issue and they did not want to take responsibility for what had happened. I'm submitting this complain about this car (Chrysler corp. ) and hoping that someone may help me. Thank for your attention.

Purchased 2015 Cherokee in January, 2015. First recall in Feb 2015. Software update for transmission and rapid response transmittal. Shifting problems started shortly after update. Hesitation from a stop; delayed start and then "takes off"; surging forward without foot on gas; shifts up when coming to a stop with foot on brake; clunking noise started at 7000 miles. Took it in for recalls on airbag and radio security and told dealer about transmission issues. Was originally told they would have Jeep for 2 hours. 7 hours later they called to tell me they did several software updates (ptu, rdm, dtcm, pcm, bcm); when I went to pick it up I asked for details on each update. Frustrated when I was told it would "take some time for the car to learn my driving habits. " I asked, "what happens when I am teaching my kids how to drive (twins that will be driving in a month)?" the service tech told me that "the transmission would be really confused. " I expressed my concern for safety. Told him I never know when it is going to accelerate on its own or hesitate with a 5 second or longer delay. I asked how that could be safe when teaching kids how to drive. He didn't have an answer. Just said, "I understand your concern. " I have only driven it about 20 miles since the updates. Now it shifts quickly through the first 3 gears, still hesitates, and rough shifting. Keeping detailed records now. I've had my Jeep for 7 months (7000 miles) with 3 actual recalls, and 6 software updates that weren't recalls, just performed based on my complaints. The issues with this transmission are a safety hazard, especially when sitting at an intersection waiting to make a left hand turn and never knowing how the Jeep will respond. . . This isn't safe for an experienced driver. How can anyone safely put a new driver into a car that has these types of issues?.

Bought 2015 Jeep Cherokee brand new off the lot was so excited to own my first Jeep after 600 miles transmission failed and had to be completely replaced I was without it for 23 days. After I got it back and noticed the transmission either lunges forward when making a turn or looses power and reves up then engages took it back and dealer says we are aware of problem but there is not a update or fix for that. . . . I have never felt more unsafe or unsure about driving or trusting a vehicle than I do now. I have been back to dealer to have many updates/recalls done and tcm had to be replaced not just updated. . . I wish I never purchased a Jeep . O yeah I almost forgot the washer fluid liquid housing container is leaking took it to the dealer they said it has a crack in it defective so they need to order a new one. . . . . . Ugghh what next?.
