1 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 03/08/2026

The car only has 79 miles and the transmission is slugglisg it has a delay in it when you accelerate. And lots of 2019 Jeep Cherokee latitude plus have been recalled for the transmission. Just not my VIN number, but my car is having an exact same problem as the other 2019.

2 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 02/23/2026

The parking assist, parking, abs warning continues. There is a recall on the year model but not my VIN. I have not even been able to afford the sales tax (over $1000 usd) and dealer refuses to assist with the cost of diagnostic or malfunction repair.

3 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 01/13/2026

I was driving down the interstate in the mountainous region of montana. While coming down the hill, I lost all power in my vehicle. My car continued to slow down, unable to accelerate. I had multiple warnings/things flash across my screen that identified that I no longer had access to them. After about 30 minute or more of driving slower and slower, able to initially go 30 mph, then it continued to decrease. I was maybe to go 10 mph up a hill to try to get to the next town. I inched my way to the dealership to drop my car off. I know there is a recall on my vehicle for something related to power however in the past year, every time I take it to dealer, they say there is nothing available to fix it. I now have no vehicle and I could have easily been hit from behind during the time where I continued to lose power in the vehicle. It was a terrifying feeling to know I could be stranded on a mountain road with no cell service, etc. If there is something wrong with a vehicle because of manufacture errors, then they need to do something ASAP or provide me a new car immediately for my safety and well being. If the whole 2019 model of Jeep is an issue, then provide me a new vehicle. This is not the first issue I had with this car. Early on after purchasing it, my dash lights would all disappear while driving down the road. No speedometer, nothing. The area where the radio and other communication is at, got so hot that one could not even touch it. They did eventually replace whatever caused that problem but that was a safety issue as well. Last year I was in a car accident because I stepped on the gas to go, and there was nothing and then all of a sudden it took off and by then the car in front of me stopped. This is when I realized there is a significant problem with the power of the car. The dealer said it was probably related to the recall but don't have a way to address it.

4 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 11/02/2025

While driving 50mhp the vehicle sounded like it was stalling. Couldn't speed up. Svc 4wd and stop/ start system unavailable. There should be a recall to repair but the dealer has no solution or parts. Need solution ASAP.

5 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 10/21/2025

When driving I experienced the loss of power when trying to accelerate. My Jeep began to exhibit a loud noise and vibration which sounded like a "jack hammer" being used. There was a smell like something was burning, there was jerking, grinding, making clunking noises and happened each time I was making a turn or trying to accelerate. This put my safety and other drivers safety at risk because it could have caused an accident especially with the loss of power. My wheels can lock up and this will cause me not be able to steer or have control over my vehicle. This can cause harm to myself and others which can include death of either party. I do have fluid that leaks from under the vehicle and the burning smell comes through the car vents. The problem has been reported to a confirmed Jeep dealership, fred frederick with no resolution because they are still unable to obtain the parts. I contacted them as soon as I was notified of the recall which was January 23, 2025. My awd light does come on and off but I am uncertain of the dates. My Jeep Cherokee has the 2. 4l turbo engine. I also notice that the fcw does not operate properly as before and since this incident, I am not able to drive my vehicle due the unexpected loss of motion/power while driving and to prevent further damage.

6 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2025

The rear differential is separating. If it fails, the car will suddenly cease operation, which may result in a collision. The part was inspected and the defect confirmed by the dealer. No warning lights are active yet.

7 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 10/05/2025

My vehicle is under an open safety recall 01c involving the ptu system, and there has been no remedy available for nearly a year. This defect caused a dangerous and sudden loss of acceleration while I was driving, and the manufacturer has still provided no fix, and no support through the dealership. The incident occurred when I was stopped at a red light. When the light turned green,I pressed the gas and the vehicle immediately made a loud grinding/shaking noise, shuddered violently, and lost all propulsion. The car would barely move. I was extremely lucky that there was a parking lot directly next to the intersection, and with the tiny amount of movement left,I was able to coast into it. If this failure had happened anywhere else—on a highway, in the middle of an intersection, or without a place to pull off—I could have been rear-ended or caused a collision. My safety was put at immediate risk due to this recall defect. I contacted the dealership, but they stated they could not repair the vehicle because Jeep/stellantis had not released a remedy, parts, or service procedure for the recall. I was told multiple times that there was nothing they could do until Jeep provided a fix. After the breakdown, an independent shop confirmed the ptu failure, since the dealer still had no ability to repair it. All failed components and documentation are available for inspection. I lost use of my vehicle and was forced to take safety into my own hands. When I submitted reimbursement documentation to Jeep customer care, they denied it because the repair was not done at a certified dealer and did not use mopar parts—even though no certified repair or mopar parts exist for this recall. This leaves me without a safe vehicle, without a remedy, and without support. I am requesting NHTSA intervention due to the ongoing safety risk and the manufacturer’s failure to provide a timely fix and proper reimbursement for their admitted issue with the vehicle.

8 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 09/24/2025

There has been an open recall for over a year and no remedy has been found. I am having failure with my speed power and every dealership wants to charge me because there is no remedy for this recall. My vehicle is eventually going to give out if I don't get this fixed and unfortunately I don't have the money.

9 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/23/2025

1. The power transfer unit (ptu) failed, which also caused damage to the transmission and rear drive system. The ptu is part of recall 25v-011 / Jeep campaign 01c. The failed components and all related service documentation are available for inspection upon request from boone Jeep (July 8, 2025) and randy marion Jeep (September 10, 2025). No, ptu part was available. 2. While driving on the highway, the vehicle suddenly jerked hard, lost all power, and became inoperable, putting me and other motorists at immediate risk of collision. The vehicle also would not go into park, creating a rollaway hazard once stopped. These incidents occurred with my grandchildren in the vehicle, making it a severe safety concern. Despite confirming the ptu recall diagnosis, Jeep returned the vehicle to me with no repair available or timeline for a fix, forcing me to continue driving an unsafe vehicle. 3. Yes. Boone Jeep confirmed the ptu failure on July 8, 2025, after diagnosing major jerking, grinding, and loss of power. Later, randy marion Jeep also confirmed on September 10, 2025, that the ptu had failed again and that the rear drive and transmission were also damaged due to the same issue. The September 10th one was after I had the transmission replaced. 4. Yes. The vehicle has been inspected by two authorized Jeep dealerships (boone Jeep and randy marion Jeep), acting as manufacturer representatives. Both confirmed the ptu failure and associated damage. No police or insurance inspections have been conducted. 5. Yes, warning light service 4wd first appeared around springtime this year. This ptu defect has now caused multiple drivetrain failures, including the transmission and rear drive, and continues to pose a serious safety risk. The vehicle remains unsafe to drive, and Jeep has no available remedy for recall 25v-011 / 01c. Immediate manufacturer action is needed to provide a repair or reimbursement.

10 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/05/2025

On multiple occasions when driving and trying to increase speed (such as after pulling out of my driveway) the car makes a sudden jerking almost or like something "misses" and it slows down and takes a couple seconds to regain again. On the most recent occasion, the engine light then came on and wouldn't go off. The code when tested, said it had to do with the transmission.

11 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/25/2025

Car shuts off, once while in the middle of a turn almost went off road and couldn’t use brake or turn wheel. There were three other times it shut off at red lights and I have to put car in park and press the start button. Two of those times car had just started with oil light, was told that it is linked to the oil and to always keep it full until recall is issued. However yesterday on my way to work with full oil it shut off again. I then did my regular way to fix it and kept driving to work, out of nowhere my car starts only being able to drive up to 29 miles per hour I’m just about to get on the highway so I pull over and have to shut off again fixing the problem. This seems incredibly dangerous due to it also when having this shut off issue a notice on my car says service 4wd unavailable. We live in new england the snow can be pretty bad. This car feels unsafe, I hope you realize this model has many issues and will address them, thank you!.

12 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/17/2025

The power transfer unit ( ptu) is affected, yes it is available for inspection. The vehicle is unsafe to drive. Yes, it has been confirmed by midas and a local Jeep dealer. It has been inspected by the auto repair shops. Yes, an alert came up svc 4w and confirmed that it is the ptu issue, same day examined.

13 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/17/2025

While driving on the highway the vehicle suddenly loses power when trying to get up to speed limits. The following warning messages occur: 4wd system unavailable service required, acc/fcw limited functionality service required, service electronic stability control, service electronic throttle control. Could have caused rear collision or other accidents from trying to pull over. Creates a very dangerous situation on highways with no shoulders. Once the vehicle has slowed down it impossible to get back up to speeds, as it has to be pulled over and restarted. Upon inspection by reed Jeep dealership, the ptu needs to be replaced. Other similar year, make and models have already been recalled for this same issue.

14 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 05/23/2025

The infotainment screen in my 2019 Jeep Cherokee intermittently shuts off while driving. This occurs unexpectedly and has happened multiple times, sometimes while using navigation or the backup camera. On several occasions, the screen has turned completely blue and remained unresponsive for several minutes. The screen controls audio, climate, and safety features, and its failure creates distractions and limits access to key vehicle functions. This issue occurs randomly and has not been resolved. I brought the vehicle to a dealership, and was told that unless there is a recall, there is little they can do beyond basic troubleshooting. I have not received any warning messages or error codes related to this issue. The problem appears to stem from either a software malfunction or a hardware issue with the uconnect system. The component is available for inspection upon request. This screen failure impacts visibility and access to controls, creating a potential safety risk.

15 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 04/13/2025

Transmission failure due to faulty ptu while vehicle was moving at approximately 70 mph. My car rapidly decreased speed and drive power while in middle lanes of highway. The car is at a service center and available for inspection. The problem was diagnosed by an authorized service center. The vehicle has not been inspected by other parties. There were no warnings, indicators, or symptoms prior to the failure.

16 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 03/26/2025

I was driving approximately 30 mph on an exit ramp and as I pressed the gas to accelerate when I got below speed, the drive power completely ceased, started making a noise that I have never heard, almost like a baseball card in a bicycle wheel. The screen flashed a 4wd alert, and then shut off / went completely black. I could not accelerate, I could not turn the wheel at all as it locked up, and once the car finally stopped, I had to keep the break pressed because it would not shift into park. It wouldn't move forward but I was afraid if I let my foot off, it would randomly start again. A truck behind me nearly crashed into the back of my car which would have killed me. I quickly had to pull off to the right in the shoulder as my car came to a dead stop. My car was towed by aaa and brought to the nearest mechanic, as that is the only way they will tow a car. I was told the engine is shot. I have 40,000 miles on my 2019 car. This is completely unacceptable. I know there is a recall for exactly what happened to my car on the same year and model car, but apparently my VIN is not included in the recall. I'm out $13,000 that I owe on this car now and have no options at all financially.

17 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 02/21/2025

Have been dead spots in the gas pedal since we bought it, had almost caused accidents a few times. The transmission has been banging in gear for 4 years. The rear brake calipers do not work. I have asked the dealer many times why my 19 doesn't have the recalls for thus like the 18 and 20 do. They have no answers. I.

18 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 01/28/2025

My service awd light came on. I had the system checked in February of 2025. I was informed it was a bad ptu system. My car makes a clunking then whining noise when driving. It cannot go over 55 mph before losing power. My VIN doesn’t come up in the recall list but it has the same diagnostic issues the issue was diagnosed at heritage Jeep in harrisburg on 2/15/2025 receipt order # 218197. Customer number 42k8761762.

19 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 12/14/2024

During acceleration to pass another vehicle, my engine had lost all power and acceleration and I had to make a split decision to brake and maneuver my vehicle back into my lane behind multiple vehicles who were behind me before I attempted to pass. Had there have been oncoming traffic within that mentally unaccounted time that I was in the opposite lane, I could have been in a very large deadly accident. Cylinder 1 and 2 are testing at 0 compression, oil is leaking into the turbo and out of the exhaust. I have had regular oil changes and a tune up with the mentioning of a low power and jolting issue during acceleration and the dealership did not look into my concerns other than their simple findings of one burnt spark plug, I had all 4 replaced at that appointment, the engine is broken about 6 months later.

20 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 11/12/2024

While the car was in motion, the car slowed almost to a complete stop & the check engine light came on, along with the alert “service electronic stability control”. When pressing on the gas, almost no power was present. Vehicle barely moves. This has happened several times in the last 4 weeks. The first time on 11/12/2024, the most recent time 12/4/2024. The throttle was replaced, but the incident repeated. The vehicle also occasionally rolls when it is put in park.

21 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 11/07/2024

My svc 4wd light came on in November of 2024. Took it to the dealer same month, they said my ptu failed and they couldn't do anything for it bc the parts were jot available. They weren't available on back order even. I paid for $130 dollars just to be told that they couldn't do anything. While at the dealer after they told me this news I went and talked to a salesmen, they told me they couldn't take the Jeep in on trade bc they don't know when they could get the part so they would loose money with it sitting. Recall came out on this in January 2025 and it now is February of 2026. . I'm still waiting. The car is unstable and is basically worthless and a death trap in rain and is worse in snow. I got offered a rental out of my own pocket. I'm still making payments on this and I can't even fix it. The cars going to kill me and then what. Nothing. I was told in November of 2025 that they were hoping to have this fixed by the end of the year. Well it's February and nothing, I think they are just lieing. People are going to get hurt or killed bc of the stability.

22 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 10/07/2024

I was driving in city traffic and when I tried to accelerate, the Jeep would not increase in speed. It caught per se and nothing happened. Then, the Jeep started downshifting very hard upon slowing. When we went to the dealer and spoke with the technician, he immediately said that the computer needed updating. He said he's been seeing this a lot in these models. Sure enough, $300 dollars later and an upgraded computer, it is driving fine. I want to add that the dealer and service department was great, I just think this problem is somehow on Jeep's end.

23 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/02/2024

This is the second time that the ptu has failed. Svc 4wd and acc not available again. Radio is malfunctioning.

24 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2024

My 2019 Jeep Cherokee latitude only had 25000 miles on it when I bought it. Within a month the emergence break would come on by itself randomly while driving or beginning to accelerate from a parked or stopped state. Vehicle also can be parked completely level and it states the vehicle needs to be returned to park and restarted. Meanwhile all the lights come on on the dash and the shifter lights up red. Every single gear. It literally will not move unless you drift. It also will not start randomly, you will go out get in and for no reason it won’t turn over, yet the electrical systems will turn in fine, it’s getting power. In order for this to stop, you have to keep turning it on and off and apply the parking brake and the brake and than release them…. Over and over with intermittent breaks in between until it finally turns over. If you manage to get it started than it won’t shift properly. It stays in an extremely low gear unless you accelerate rapidly. And it won’t accelerate rapidly, your foot can be to the floor and it’s barely going until it gets into third and than just keeps rising never down shifting again until you coast to a stop and have to turn it off again and start the process over. On hills when this happens you will get hit and killed bc it won’t go in time for you to get out of oncoming traffic’s way. It has shut off while driving on the highway. Left me stranded blocking people in in parking lots. And almost gotten me and my family killed in several occasions. There are no similar circumstances in which it does this. It is comletely random and that makes it terrifying. I have 2 children that I am afraid to take anywhere now, and the Jeep was bought to keep them safe and able to get anywhere in case of inclement weather etc. As if that’s not enough, the passenger seat floor is always wet. There is no leak coming in from doors or windows so I have no idea. And the radio and ac/heat turn on and off by themselves constantly.

25 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 10/30/2023

Vehicle stops accelerating randomly and loses power. Service electronic throttle control light comes on and engine light and traction control light and vehicle will not accelerate or stalls. Had vehicle towed to dealership and the code is saying the ptu is bad and needs to be replaced. This happens all the time, thankfully I’ve been very lucky thus far not having my children in the vehicle with me when it happens as this could cause a very serious accident.

26 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 10/06/2023

Urgent: date of near life & death situation. 10-6-2023. This 2019 kl Cherokee lost accelerating power while in heavy traffic. As the car was losing speed the "d" drive indicator on center dash started flashing a moments later 2 messages displayed: msg 1: service transmission restart in park with vehicle @ zero speed. Msg 2: shift to park or neutral press brakes and select gear. (center dash is the screen between tachometer and speedometer) followed instructions, turned key to off position for a few seconds then started engine placed shifter in drive, accelerated engine to 2000 rpms, car failed to move. Turned key off a second time, waited about 18 seconds for the mileage readout to clear then another 6 seconds (+-) for the outline light bars for the center screen to clear. Then when started it engaged a drive gear. Even in residential areas there are large trash trucks and large delivery trucks hurrying about, added to this vehicle faulting in roadway much less a center lane on the interstate with no time to pull out of traffic. Don't trust the car seat and booster seat even with air bags to save your children. Action is required to remove these vehicles from service after it has been proven the manufacturer cannot supply the dealership with a successful repair for a well documented failure of a common safety hazard in many of their vehicles. The dealership did not duplicate the problem but did confirm all of the information supplied them matched with the faults stored in pcm memory. Not being able to duplicate leaves the technician with just an image of the perils these faults puts the operator and public in, catastrophic. No specific component could be proven at fault, with vehicle operating normal. After a diagnostic fault code retrieval the option was to allow them to spend maximum 6 hours in electrical testing to verify integrity of electrical connections and components. Trust and confidence in an organizations leadership to accept responsibility for mistakes.

28 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/18/2023

I believe my pcm went bad.

29 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/19/2023

The car lost acceleration power when driving, showed no codes, and displayed a message to shift to park and restart car. This incident happened twice including after the car was taken to the dealer, who could not find anything wrong with the car. A google search revealed several 2018 vehicles with that problem and a recall for 2017 models and earlier; however, the 2018 model has not been recalled and should be.

31 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/20/2022

Hello -- my Jeep has had a repetitive issue with the start/stop system since I took ownership. In recent months, my vehicle has stalled on two separate occasions by completely shutting down at a stop light. First the "hood switch is open" alert comes up, then an emergency braking alert comes up, all while the vehicle completely shuts off as I am accelerating. This is extremely dangerous as it could definitely cause an accident as I'm mid-intersection. I have taken my vehicle to Jeep to complain of the issue, but they have let me know that the vehicle is not recording the error codes and there is nothing to be done. They literally send me home to continue driving it and have the stalling happen again. I have done extensive research and found that I am not the only Jeep owner with this issue. In fact, they have also gone through very similar frustrations with the dealership as they state there is nothing to be done. From my research it looks like it could be the ibs connector (intelligent battery sensor), but it also could be a poor electrical system. Please help.

32 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 03/05/2022

34 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 09/17/2021

The p2122 obd-ii trouble, or fault, code means that the vehicle's on-board computer has detected low voltage in the throttle position sensor (tps), which is usually below 0. 17 volts. The battery is also at 8. 3 volts indicating a potential short somewhere and potentially a faulty alternator. This is not what you want while driving a vehicle.

35 Vehicle Speed Control problem
