In January of 2021 I was driving my vehicle out of the car wash when it suddenly accelerated on its own across a busy roadway out of the parking lot. The vehicle was going 65 mph without my foot on the gas. I had to keep my foot on the brake to control its speed and get myself to work that way. I got the car to stop in those parking lot and put the vehicle in park. The rpms shot up to 5000, the stop start and a couple of other warning lights were on. I shut the vehicle off, restarted it and then it was fine as if nothing ever happened. After work I brought the vehicle to the dealer, they checked the obd computer and verified that the incident happened. They replaced some sensor and everything was fine until may 20th, 2021. On that day the vehicle started to accelerate on its own again. I immediately pulled into a walmart parking lot, put the vehicle in park, took a picture of the dashboard to show the dealer and turned the vehicle off. I did not run the car long enough for the warning lights to come on. I restarted the vehicle and again it was as if nothing happened. I bright the vehicle to my dealership and as of 06/08/2021 it is still there waiting on Chrysler to figure something out. The dealer cannot fix it unless they can get it to happen again because I did not run the car long enough for the obd computer to register and record the second incident as per Chrysler’s policy.
My vehicle has has these issues since I bought them but were unaware of how to report them. I also got a recall letter about my ptu failure and feldman Jeep in livonia falsely reported the recall completed and it wasn’t. My car is noisy and vibrational when driving higher speeds, service 4wd messages and noise when I turn the automatic brakes off.
Tl the contact leased a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at various speeds and depressing the brake pedal, there was an abnormal clicking noise detected. Additionally, while stopped or accelerating, the vehicle hesitated to respond. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken twice to ron lewis automotive group (600 clairton blvd, pittsburgh, PA 15236, (412) 655-7500) where the contact was informed the vehicle worked as designed. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 2,500.
The Jeep started stalling when in motion/ driving about a month ago, it usually happened when braking to stop and the Jeep will not turn back on. It takes about three times to turn over and start back up. Yesterday while driving on a busier road the Jeep started throwing errors staying systems were not working, the check engine light came on and then when I tried to drive it through the stop light the vehicle would not shift or accelerate. I got it pulled over in a gas station parking lot and turned the vehicle off. The vehicle would not turn over the first couple of times and then it finally did. Not when I try to remote start the vehicle it will not stay running. Every time I have had this happen I have been driving on a city street and I am lucky I have not been in an accident as nothing works not even my hazard lights. I feel this vehicle is not safe to drive anymore. When the electric issue happened yesterday there was a red flashing lightening bolt on the dash and the traction control light was also flashing when it was telling me certain systems were not woking. I tried to get a picture but it did not take. I am current in canada at college and with the borders being closed I can not just drive to NY to get it looked at. I tried to call a Jeep dealer here but now one will return my calls.
I have reported problems with the transmission and revving up while driving today. But I got in my Jeep went down there road to a stop sign. Then preceded to drive and the Jeep just roared and did not accelerate, I'm in the middle of the road then here comes traffic closer. The transmission is a problem. There is no fixing, every Jeep ship I go to, they don't fine nothing.
There Jeep has different acceleration that are unsafe. With regular driving you can give it gas and it's slow going then some times it will jump picking up speed fast. This happens when you push the accelerator down the sane with either way it speed up. My concern is if im behind someone at a light and I go to take off it might do the thing where it picks up speed fast and I run in back of someone. This isn't safe at all.
My 16 month old Jeep turns off while you are driving it. This has occurred twice in the prior two weeks. No warning lights--the car just turns off completely. I have been advised this is due to a drop in oil pressure, but the oil pressure light doesn't come on. The car has been maintained according to the guidelines within the manual which states to change the oil when the engine light comes on and that it should never go beyond 10,000 miles between oil changes. When the car was taken to the dealer for the issue we were advised that the reality is that the oil needs changed every 4,000 miles and this is a known issue and that more frequent oil changes reduces the likelihood of this occurring. My 16 year old son was driving the car the first time this occurred and the second time it was on a 45 mile an hour road. This is a known issue and yet Chrysler/Jeep does nothing to resolve it.
Tl the contact leased a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that prior to the failure the key fob was locked inside the vehicle, however once the vehicle was opened she started the vehicle and shifted to reverse. The reverse alert audio chimed and the brake pedal was depressed however the vehicle inadvertently accelerated in reverse. The contact stated that no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle crashed into another vehicle. No injuries were sustained. A police report was filed. The vehicle was taken to myrtle beach Jeep Chrysler (785 jason blvd, myrtle beach, SC 29577 843-448-1191) were the failure was not diagnosed or duplicated. The contact also mentioned that when approaching a stop light and the brake pedal was depressed the vehicle would lurch forward as well as when the brake pedal was released an abnormal grinding noise was heard. The manufacturer was contacted but offered no assistance as the contact no longer owns the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 1,070.
Car does not go in to drive and will sometimes lurks in to high gear from a start or a initial go. The car revs up thinking it was in drive then slams in to high gear and goes.
My car make a humming noise like it's trying to catch up while driving it stalls and sometimes while driving the car engine goes dead I have to keep pushing start button about 3 times to restart I took a picture of light that comes on and also another car backed into my car when car went dead it's very dangerous been to dealership several times they said everything was ok they even told me to take pictures of lights when it happens like I'm lying and I did even thought all pictures are time stamp. I can't afford uber and car note I need help. This happens on freeway highway side street anytime no warning.
My car hesitiates when putting it in to drive from backing up or just taking off. It hesitates going from low to high speed taking a long time intermittently. This is a very serious safety issue. I could be side swiped or ran in to.
Vehicle driving and when coming to a stop it seems like the auto turn off wants to turn off even before stopping. Feels like its going to stall. Also leaving a red light when it auto turns on it jerks and then switching from first to secong gear it jerks. The transmission has so much lag switching gears and picking up speed it also jerks and takes forever to pick up speed. But my most concern is gear switching and jerking and almost stalling when coming to a stop with the auto shut off trying to turn off while driving. And when it turns back on it jerks when you give it slight gas.
When I accelerate my vehicle after a stop or getting on the highway, it stalls and or stutters. This is a major safety concern. I have almost been hit because my vehicle would not accelerate when I had my foot on the gas.
Accelerating is jerky and many times does not shift correctly as speed increases (into next gear on left hand side ). Also, as vehicle goes down small hills it seems like it doesn't understand how to handle the decease in acceleration. Also, when shifting from reverse to drive, it takes at least 30 seconds to correctly respond. I brought vehicle into shop, they stated it was the vehicle getting to know how I drive.
Stalling in the engine and knocking into the engine. There is also a stall upon acceleration.
From the that I drove it out of the dealership I noticed that applying the gas did not get me the instant needed power to get this 6-cylinder car moving. In November this car with less that 300 miles was back at the dealership when it also developed a surge in power and a fluctuating engine revving. . . It spent a month at the dealership before they could determine what the problem was. That problem may have been solved but the acceleration is still a concern of ours which we need to live with for another 2-years which is the remainder of our lease.
2019 Jeep Cherokee latitude stalls while the vehicle is in drive. The entire vehicle shuts down, the battery light displays, and the vehicle must be stopped, put in park, and restarted. This issue was noted by a recall earlier this year by Jeep, but service for the recall was ineffective and issue remains. Both experiences were while the car was in motion (driving) at approximately 35 miles per hour both on low grade inclines. The first experience was with less than 1,000 miles on the vehicle and the 2nd experience was at approximately 35,000 miles. Also, the speed control of the vehicle is inconsistent with both lurching at take off and slow acceleration.
I noticed a lag in a increase in speed & stalling in the engine when the vehicle is in operation.
Brand new Jeep rail hawk 34 miles at time of purchase 410 miles knock sensor and check engine 1812 miles etc and map sensor 2325 miles etc the last two times lost all throttle and no power going up vail pass in CO. Almost rear ended by a semi and had to pull over on the shoulder, limp mode.
I took my car four times to the dealership for repairs. They have only done two repairs but every time I take it and they fix something, something else starts giving me problems. My car has shut down in the freeway that was the reason why I took it the first time. The dealer only did an update in the power train, which they said it was recall. After that the car continue with all the other problems that were not taken care by the dealership. I tried two different Jeep/Chrysler dealerships, one in alhambra which is where I bought the car from and the other location I took the car was the one in downey,CA. I'm afraid off getting into a car accident because of all the problems the car has. The dealership doesn't want to fix the car as they said the car is not showing any codes for them to fix them. The car accelerates by it self, the brakes are not working properly, it shakes and the last time I took the car for repair it started to smell like gasoline, also the dashboard turns on and off by it self. I just want to have a reliable car as I'm paying for a 2019 vehicle not a used one. I just don't want to put my kids, myself, or anyone's life in danger due to the car not functioning properly. I would greatly appreciated if you guys can assist or help me with this matter at your earliest convenience.
Everything down to the engine has been replaced and still having problems with the idle being high sitting or moving, usually a very quite vehicle is now loud, smells like gas is leaking, auto shut off works sometimes, the unlock button on the handle most times won't unlock, when there's no one in the Jeep and the button is pushed on the handle it says to push break to start the vehicle while still trying to unlock the doors and outside of the vehicle, hesitates to take off at times while pulling out from a stop sign or to pass someone.
Breaks feel worn out and when I break you can hear noise. Also the disc look worn out and vehicle is beginning to drive poorly.
Driving approximately 30-40 mph when slowing down to approximately 10-15 mph to yield for oncoming traffic or a red light the vehicle will have a delayed response to any acceleration input causing a dangerous situation (ie. If trying to take off in front of another vehicle due to space but realize they are traveling much faster than anticipated you are unable to get out of the way due to car not responding to pedal input immediately).
The car will stall in the middle of road with no warning. It happens most often when going up a slight hill and making a left hand turn. Dealer says it is low on oil pressure(the car is 5 months old and they say it was 2. 5 quarts low on oil!!) and a safety switch shuts down the engine in the middle of road/traffic!! I call this "safety feature" to protect the engine a"danger switch" that endangers traffic. I believe this is a major safety issue for all traffic because these Jeeps are stalling in the middle of traffic. I have a 45 second video that shows the stall. Please help get this problem solved!!.
Tl the contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. While at a stop, the vehicle accelerated forward without warning and caused a front end collision. There were no warning indicators illuminated. A police report was filed. The contact suffered injuries and received medical attention. The vehicle was driven back to the contact's residence. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 10,000.
Brand new Jeep Cherokee latitude plus 4x4 v6 9 speed,3,100 miles. The Cherokee has a grinding noise going over speed bumps in the back of the car. Sounds like gears aren't meshing properly. I have to turn off the traction control every time I go over a speed bump to correct the issue. Rpms get super high before the Jeep decides to change gears and kick up. The other issue is the car lurches forward when I brake coming to a stop. Not always but enough to make me weary in parking lots. Mostly drive in the city.
My car shut down twice while driving on the expressway. There was plenty of gas and no reason for it to shut down. All of the dashboard lights flashed and then there was no ability to steer or control the car. I had break, switch the gears from drive to park and then restart the car. Luckily traffic was slowed or else my child and I would've been hit from behind. I took the car to the dealership and was told that the oil was low and it could be excessive oil consumption. That could have lead to the stalling. There were no warning lights involved.
The vehicle does not shift correctly. It lags terribly. It does not accelerate properly. It jerks and the transmission grinds. The brakes make strange noises when coming to a stop and it doesn't stop as quickly as it should. The radio overheats and the usb ports stop working randomly. The vehicle cut off on a major hwy at one point. Several complaints have been made to the dealer and it has been serviced multiple times and it's not correcting the problem. It's a brand new vehicle and started having issues not long after it was purchased. The dealer keeps re-flashing the transmission and it's not fixing the problems this vehicle has. Chrysler won't do anything for us because they say there are no codes on the vehicle. This vehicle is not operating properly and it's not even safe to drive. We shouldn't have to keep a vehicle that was purchased brand new and it has had nothing but problems. The mechanic even admitted it lags but stated "it's not that bad. " this is unacceptable. No brand new vehicle should lag at all or have any of these other issues for that matter!.
Was at a 4 way stop sign getting ready to pull off when vehicle stop working. Tried to recrank the vehicle but it took 5 minutes to start again. Called dealership and took it to the service department. About a week and a half later vehicle started having issues again. Vehicle started to stall and have a very slow take off. Take off was so slow until I had to sit 15 minutes before take off.
My 2019 Jeep Cherokee latitude was just exiting the interstate and approached a light on the off ramp. Upon stopping and trying to accelerate my Jeep began beeping and the "drive (d)" started blinking on the dash and gear. During this time my vehicle would roll backwards to the off ramp unless the emergency break was engaged. I was not able to press the gas, shifting into other gears did not do anything and the breaks were locked out. I was sitting in the bike lane blocking traffic and hoping to not get hit. I was able to roll downhill about 50ft and steer onto a side street. Once there I again tried to shift to different gears and nothing seemed to work. As mentioned my breaks were locked and the gas pedal was out of service. Finally, after exiting the major intersection I tried turning the car off and back on and it seemed to clear the error. My car is currently in the shop for this problem. Something needs to be done about this though. If this would have happened seconds before serious injury or deaths could have been involved.
My new car has 2,800 miles due for an oil change at 5 months/5,000 miles. The engine failed once for no known cause after 2 weeks in the repair shop. Now my car died while in motion on busy roads and a highway ramp at speeds between 15-40 mph without warning or lights. This is sla safety hazard as the steering goes and car just comes to a stop without any warning. I had it towed after it's 5th time in 4 days stopping while in motion and shutting down. Jeep told me it's empty on oil but yet the oil light indicator doesn't come on. They said it is a known issue without a fix for all 2014-2019 Jeep Cherokees. They are aware but are not fixing or addressing the oil consumption without light issue that puts drivers in motion at risk of an accident or losing their life. If no warning is coming on that your oil is empty long before a die oil change and my car can just die while in motion along with others as again they stated it's a known issue is a road hazard for anyone in these cars. My car is 3 months old and I feel unsafe driving it on any roads for fear I will be hit by another driver as it's just losing power and shutting down in the street in motion. Jeep cannot fix this but knows about it.
I was driving down the street and all the sudden my car just shut off. I had no control over the vehicle at all. Then it started driving backwards as it was in drive. I couldn't not get it to go into park and it took a minute or 2 to get it into park. The. The dash told me to turn the car back on and it wouldn't turn back on at first. This is the second time this has happened to me. The vehicle was moving and just all the sudden turned off. I went and checked the oil after reading about this with other customers and I had no oil in my car.
Brand new car with 12 miles on it, check engine light on, will not go over 27 mph on hwy. When try to fill with gas it flushes back out the tank. Already serviced for internal brake switch failure. After picked up, ran fine for 48 hours then abs warning light came on , a w/exclamation point light came on and message saying. . . "service stability control" now Jeep is back in shop. Do not feel safe in it at all.
