The warning light came on indicating that the airbag safety restraint system was offline. Jeep dealer was able to fix the problem.
The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Commander. The contact stated that the driver's side air bag warning light was illuminated continuously. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who indicated that the air bag needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and they stated that there was not a recall related to the air bag failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.
